The heels of her boots clicked against the stone wall that hid the ocean from the rest of the world. It wasn't a very high wall, but it was tall enough for it to be difficult for a person without any skill to climb the wall. But thankfully Anastasia didn't need to be a skilled climber, although she was, because with wings a person didn't need to know those type of things. Like most days she came to the ocean, she had used her wings to get her on top of the wall, and soon to get her off of it. And even though it was a painful five minutes to grow her wings out of her back, it was worth every second after her brown eyes saw the sea. The waves crashing against the shore line, the birds flying along the ocean breeze, and the dancing fish that would fly into the sky for a split second just to catch a bite to eat.

Anastasia sighed as she let her wings fold into a resting position on her back, this was the only place she really felt comfortable. Even though she had attended Starlight Academy for over six years it still didn't feel like home. The cold stone and the lifeless windows meant nothing to her. The only thing that kept her at that place was the fact that she needed the training to defeat the person who killed her best friend Angela. But while she was here even that mattered little. The only thing that possesed Anastasia's soul here was the memories of her childhood, and how safe the world use to be. So safe from the coruptions of evil and the taunting of kids. But now that she was older there was no place she could be safe from that, except here.

"Just like every other day," Anastasia said quietly to herself as she watched the setting sun. "The only time I get to be alone, and it is going to take me almost all night to get back to school." The sea was some walking distance from the school, about thirty minutes or so. But Anastasia could easily do that. It wasn't the walking that took her so long, it was the flying. Oddly enough it took her even longer to fly home than it did to walk. Or at least it would until she practiced more. She had only had her wings for six months now, and although they felt like part of her body, they were weak.

Looking around the shoreline Anastasia realized that for once she was the only person there. Usually there were at least a few other students, bored from their daily lives, walking along the beach. But not today. Today it was only her. Moving a strand of blonde hair from her face, Anastasia tugged at her corset, attempting to pull it down a little. "I should have brought a jacket." Anastasia complained as a cool ocean breeze cut through her wings and her skin. Still sitting on the wall, Anastasia tried to divert her attention from the fact that she was freezing to the energy that was coming from the sun. Her mind slowly began to numb as the energy flew around her. All her attention gone from the world around her.

Ronlyn flew swiftly through the air. He was still very angry with his father whom he served. No matter how angry he was with his father he would still do anything for him. He also had been very angry with his twin brother Roliner who refused to even say one word with him, only because he was working with there father. Yes, Ronlyn was a little mad at his father for killing their mother, but he doesn't really care, he never cared for his mother, because she didn't take him to an aunt like his brother.

As he flew through the air, with the draconic wings that had come from his shoulder blades at age 8. His eyes looked straight ahead, there bright blue eyes seemed to shine a bit, with an anger tint withing them, deep inside. His shaggy hair that seemed like it was never cut, blew around.

He soon saw the sea, it glimmered in the setting sun, and there he knew he felt at ease. When he was near the wall he landed softly, his boots with metal plating making a thud sound as he landed. He did not seem to pay much attention to the other person who was standing on the wall, his attention was on the sea, nothing else. He stood there, still and unmoving, except his wings moving around into a comfortable position, his eyes gleaming with peace, and comfort from the sea.

Anastasia kept her eyes on the sun, allowing the energy to keep flowing around her. She knew someone had just landed beside her, but she didn't want to let the peace go. Life had be hard lately and this little amount of peace was worth the word to her. Continueing her stare into the sun, Anastasia eventually looked away, common sense grabbing her by the neck. She might as well make sure it wasn't some stuck up kid from school coming to attack her. Turning her head a bit to the side Anastasia looked at the boy on the ground below. He had wings like a dragon and looked really quite dashing. Anastasia turned her head away again but only for a few seconds this time. She didn't want to make it look like she was watching him. But she almost did, company would be nice right now, and he even seemed like a silent partner, which was even better.

Standing up on the wall, Anastasia jump high into the air, letting her white angelic wings catch her and lower her slow too the ground. Letting them fold up once again so they were in a comfortable position, Anastasia walked over to the boy. He looked like he was around the same age as her, although she had never seen him at Starlight Academy. "The ocean is very calming," Anastasia said, having felt his energy relaxe when he landed. "But rumor has it, if you stare at it too long, you'll get pulled into the ocean and become one with the her." Anastasia was now sitting on the sand a few feet away from him. She turned her head to see if he would comment back, streching her wings in the warm sun that didn't seem to heat her enough to stay warm. A slight shiver went through her, caused by being cold, but still she looked at the boy, her brown eyes dazzeling in the sun.

As he stared out at the sea he heard the girl with wings come down, then he heard her talk but he didn't look for a while, even though he could always find peace here anytime, since he really didn't have much to do except classes that he hates. After a bit he turned his head to look at the girl sitting, who looked to be his age, but why did it matter, he would always look how he is now, he would never get old, and will always stay young.

He turned around facing the girl and he stared at her, but he stared at her angelic wings longer. Tarver said his mother had white beautiful wings, but Ronlyn had never seen any wings like that. He glanced at the sun for moment, thinking in deep thought, then he looked back at the girl. "Funny, I've never heard that rumor..." He said, while walking to the wall, then he leaned his back aginist it, and his wings shifted around, then he was staring once more at sea, with his left hand resting on his dagger, that was in a glass scabbard. He never took his poison dagger off, if he did, then he could miss the chance he had to kill his brother.

"My name is Ronlyn..." He said, looking over at the girl.

He didn't answer for a bit, but Anastasia could understand why. The ocean was a captivating thing, for almost anyone, good or bad. She felt his eyes glance at her for a brief second and then leaver her again.

The next time he looked at her, his gaze lasted longer, this time on her wings. Anastasia flexed them, trying to gather up as much sun as possible; and maybe to show them to the boy a bit more. "Oh you've never heard of it," Anastasia asked, her voice cheerful yet slightly distant, the ocean tended to do that to her. "Well, I guess it was your lucky day then. It's not every day that you find something out about a place, you thought you had figure out."

When he walked behind her, Anastasia tensed up for a split second, but then relaxed once again when she heard the boy resting against the wall. Living in a place full of moody teenage mutants made her jumpy. Anastasia was a bit surprised when the boy said his name. He hadn't seemed like the type that would openly do that, but Anastasia was happy he did. "My name is Anastasia," She said softly, leaning back into the sand a bit more. "It's very nice to meet you Ronlyn."

Making a soft laugh Anastasia shook her head, "No matter how close to the sun I am, I just can't get any warmer." She didn't really say it to Ronlyn, but rather to herself. Turning around so she faced the boy, Anastasia smiled at him, "So what brings you to the ocean?"

He himself didn't know why he gave his name, he merely guessed because he wanted to talk to someone, who would get angry at him fro maybe having a temptation, like when he wanted to kill an elder vampire, and when he told his father, Tarver roared angrily at him, and even nearly slammed Ronlyn into a wall, but he managed to get out of the way.

He listened to her what she said first, but didn't answer, not wanting to answer to that question. Anastasia... I've heard that name around, though not much, it seems like someone who worked for my father has that name... oh well, nothing I really care about, he thought folding his arms, listening to the girl, though he didn't answer anything, in till she asked why he was out here.

"I'm here... to finally have some peace, instead doing my job..." Ronlyn said not meaning to say anything like job, not wanting the girl to ask anything about it, but he already said it, and he knew he couldn't take it back, so he waited to see what would happen.

Anastasia listened to Ronlyn, her mind focusing on his wings for a split second. They were so beautiful, just like a dragons. Anastasia looked at her own wings, they were so different from hers, completely white, like an angels. Sighing, not because of Ronlyn but because of her own random links between her and him. She often did that, but normally did it when she knew the person.

A spark of interest flashed in Anastasia's choclate coloured eyes, but then it died. She could tell, just by the way he looked after he finished that sentence, that he had said something he didn't want to talk about. Turning away from him, Anastasia kicked some sand a few feet ahead of her. "Yah, the beach is good for forgetting problems," Anastasia said, deciding that she would tell him why she was here, so maybe he wouldn't feel so paranoid about telling her that he was escaping from his job; whatever tha was. She wasn't one to pry, or at least not when the person clearly didn't want to tell her about it. "That's why I come here, but not really to avoide a problem. I come here because it reminds of where I came from. I use to live by an ocean, it was five years ago, but it still feels like just yesterday that I took one last look at the ocean I had grown up beside." A small frown appeared on Anastasias face, but luckily for her she was facing away from Ronlyn. She hated showing emotion and frowning was doing that. "But yah." Anastasia said softly, brushing some hair out of her face.

Suddenly she turned around and burst into a wide grin, "Wow, I'm such a mood killer, sorry." She turned back around again, the minute she said that, blushing. She was such a dork sometimes, she was cool around the kids at her school, but not around strangers.

Ronlyn looked at Anastasia when she was looking at his wings, and he studied her face for a moment. Her eyes, brown, they were quite beautiful, but the only thing he found in beauty was the red blood. He looked away, and down at the ground. He listened to her for a moment, he was amazed he didn't get annoyed by the girl, he actually liked having company right now.

"This is the first time I have ever seen an ocean..." He said, sighing slightly, as he still fingered the dagger. "The ocean is new to me..." When he spoke his voice was quiet.

When she turned to him and sound something he would never expect, he raised his eyebrows, and his eyes were slightly confused. ... Strange... but, I guess nice company, better then being in the company then Roliner, he thought. "Do you have a brother?" He asked, so then he wouldn't be stuck in a odd silence.

Anastasia looked over at Ronlyn when he said he had never been to the ocean before. "Really," Anastasia said, her voice showing that she was amazed at that. "But I guess some people have never had the chance to see the ocean. That's just so strange to me since I grew up beside one." Pausing for a moment, Anastasia looked at the ocean, a small smile on her face. "Do you like it so far?" She asked, drawing random swirls and lines in the sand.

As Anastasia was turned around she saw the look of confusion pass through Ronlyn, but decided that maybe he just wasn't use to random people talking to him. Laughing in her head, Anastasia thought that maybe she was becoming a nicer person, or maybe just more friendly to stranger. It wasn't her fault she was specific about the company she kept.

"Yah I have one brother, his name is Andrew," Anastasia said, her voice slightly bitter as she said his name. "He's twenty seven now... not that it really matters to me." She hadn't seen him in such a long time, probably a year. Sure she got money out of him every once in a while, but that didn't mean a thing. They had lost any bond they had had when she was twelve; and that made her sad. Shaking her head so she wouldn't think about her brother anymore, or at least not about their loss in affection, Anastasia asked Ronlyn, "Do you have any siblings?"

Ronlyn nodded. "Yes, I do like it, it is just as wonderful as... blood." He said, with a slight smirk, and a vampire fang showed, though it was hard to tell it was a fang. He glanced down at what she was doing, drawing lines and other random things, then he looked back up, and slightly shrugged.

He removed his hand from the dagger and ran his hand through his black hair, then returned it to his dagger. His eyes looked up at the sky, watching a bird fly over, then he looked back at the sea, listening once more to the girl.

"I can tell you do not like your brother so much..." Ronlyn said hearing the bitterness in her tone. When she asked him the same question, his eyes flashed with anger, and once more his thoughts turned to Roliner.

"Yes. I have a brother also, he is my twin, Roliner. Hm, I don't know why I even waste my time on him." Ronlyn sneered when he said his twin's name. How he hated his brother.
