The next thing Ava knew she was on the ground. Damn, this trick really was annoying. And Ava could clearly smell Orsick and his approach. If he was flying that meant that he had shifted, and that meant that Ava was sure as hell going to shift too.
Ava shifted into her dragon form, bit larger than an SUV, and just in time as Orsick dropped his invisibility. Ava answered his roar with her own, hers was low and rumbled like an erupting volcano.

Ava produced mass quantities of lava and fortified her lava coating, so no bite could easily reach her real body. She was going to try and face Orsick head on if he wanted it that much.

Knowing things happening around you was somewhat different when you had no eyes. The world was a different place, but Orsick was more aware of things now than he would have been in his human form. Like Ava layering her lava to form a protective coat. He'd try and tear through it, reach something that he could actually damage.

He'd reach out with his wings. The clawed hands on them should be more than enough to rip off that stone coating. He wreathed his claws in shadow energy and went to work. Never stayed in one spot for particularly long, he'd use his smaller size to his advantage.

Rada's lava was completely in her control, and she moved it around as Orsick moved around. Ava let her lava really heat up, not to volcano levels but as hit as the gymnasium could take and surely so hot Orsick would be having a tough time, maybe get a burn or two. The air around Ava was rippling as the heat rose from her body and she turned together with Orsick. The little thing was damn fast, and though Ava was just as fast Orsick was smaller. His attacks didn't quite reach Ava's real skin yet, but she knew it'd happen eventually.

Ava tried swiping her tale in wide swings in hopes of hitting Orsick, her tail was like a whip, but that was a temporary solution and the flame at the end of Ava's tail could seriously hurt Orsick. So she tried a thing.
Ava's wings didn't allow her to fly in this form, but they could give her a good boost off the ground. And so Ava flapped them once and jumped, and landed with a heavy rumble. And with that rumble she spread her lava on a large area all around her, and unless you took some serious distance you would be hit by some 1000 degrees celsius magma.

Orsick instinctively hopped back a decent distance when he felt Ava jump. That move probably would have been a lot more intimidating if he had eyes to see it with, but his perception of things was much different. He was sensing everything else around him without his eyes to distract him. He "saw" everything around him without the need to look around. That would have been a nasty attack to take if he'd stayed put. That said, his instincts as a blind dragon would label him as so aggressive it looped into caution.

He would try something for his next attack since they were at a distance. He built up shadow energy around himself, shaping it into thin needles, and firing them all off at Ava.

Ava didn't know exactly how Orsick sensed the world around him, but since she'd had shitty eyesight not too long ago in her dragon form she had some kind of understanding, and she knew it was a lot sharper than just seeing. So she wasn't surprised when Orsick was able to dodge so easily. Rather, she'd been counting on it. The moment she spread the lava Ava moved again, zooming over towards Orsick as fast as she could, collecting any lava she could from the way, gathering it around her. So when Orsick launched his shadow needles Ava was considerably close. She saw Orsick's attack coming and was able to block most of the needles by forming a solid shield with the magma Ava had collected in front of her. And Ava proceeded to try and tackle Orsick, pinning him on the ground.

Orsick didn't quite have time to avoid Ava's next attack and found himself pinned down by her. He spent a few moment squirming, trying to force his way out. Then he remembered that he had three ways he could escape Ava's grasp.

His first option was simply impaling her with his shadow needles, but that was brutal, and wholly unnecessary. This was a sparring match, and Ava was family. His second option was swapping locations with her. The main downside to that however was that would put him on her back. And that left him with the final option. The ability he hadn't been using for this match.

Orsick relaxed and... sunk into the ground like a ghost. He'd phased out of her grip and into the floor. When he emerged again, he was back in his human form with a long pair of shadow needles formed from the palms of his hands. The look on his face said he was ready to finish this.

Ava lowered the temperature of her magma just in time when she pinned Orsick down. Ava was used to training with Titus and then she didn't need to hold back, so when sparring with Orsick she couldn't use her usual attacks fire resistant dragons could take. But it was also good practice, Ava needed to learn how to control her magma while still fighting at full capacity.

"Come on dweeb, give up."
Ava rumbled as she pressed Orsick against the floor, only one of her feet was required for that since Orsick was quite the bit smaller than her. But just when Ava uttered those words Orsick just went and sunk into the floor. Ava blinked and immediately went on high alert, looking around her and preparing for his next attack. And he did emerge, in his human form and looking ready to rumble. Ava shifted back into a human, or more like her hybrid form, and formed two kind of magma sticks in her hands. Her friend had taught Ava how to fight with them and she took a stance, grinning.
"How about you come first this time? Give me your best shot."

"Best shot for me's worst shot for you," Orsick sighed, and charged at her. Orsick had been combat training with Titus and other family members as far back as he could remember. His weapons were a little unconventional, but he had a general idea of what he was doing. He had a few other tricks he could do with his "needlekinesis". Things his regalia hadn't been able to teach him, but he kind of picked up on his own.

He swung at Ava's torso.

"Oh really? So scary."
Ava scoffed and propped her lava sticks before herself, crossed. She widened her stance and watched where Orsick was going to strike. The torso. Ava dropped low second before Orsick would've hit, spinning the sticks so they covered her sides. Ava would her tail at Orsick's legs and try to wipe him out.

He expected the block, and the tail sweep. It was at that point more of the needles sprouted from around his feet, creating a spiky barrier between Ava's tail and his feet. They were pointed upwards though so they didn't stab into Ava.

"You know what? I quit, if I keep going like this I might actually hurt you. And that would make eating at the same table as you kinda awkward."

He didn't like it, but he knew how he could get. To a certain degree he hated his abilities just because as far as he knew there wasn't anyone who could actively resist them. He huffed and backed off a bit.
