Like any good student, instead of doing work, Cyrano de Bergerac was lying under a shady tree on a hot summer's day, trying to settle in for a nap.
He had been on the go it felt like for nearly a week now. Last semester's finals had taken a toll on him mentally it felt like, even though he had managed to ace the history and literature classes, as well as to a lesser extent science. The history books got some of the interpretations wrong in his opinion, but he didn't bother speaking up to correct his teacher anymore. It did feel a little strange at times, being over a millenium old yet still 'feeling' youthful, as his counsellor described it. Maybe it was just him, who knew, he just tried to take things one day at a time and go from there.
None of that mattered now though, it was the peak of summer, and Cy had nothing important to do for once. He wasn't in any clubs, he didn't compete in any sports, nor was he a part of any academic circles- he was free to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. Perhaps that was the most enjoyable thing in itself, the ability to saunter out of his dorm room and sit under a nice tree in the courtyard, close his eyes, and nap until it was night. His sword, Kibou, was with him as it always was, but the creatures here hardly warranted any sort of caution in his opinion. It was refreshing not having to launch into a melee against the supernatural.
With a small content, smile on his face, Cy grew still as he tried to settle in for what he was hoping would shape up to be a prime power-nap.
