January 2019 Announcements


News in Brief​

Winter Mystery Continues
The magically induced snow continues falling all across the island and though the combined efforts of those on the island are starting to reveal key clues, the exact source is still unknown. Other efforts have been managing to keep citizens safer and keep the city running as best as they can. But as the snow continues piling up it is clear that it needs to be stopped, and soon. Stay tuned for the next phase of this mystery event and make sure to have your characters get involved if you want to participate. There may not be another opportunity to join in after this next phase. Continue to keep an eye on this thread.

Monthly Events
While there are no active events other than the Winter Mystery Event going on during the first half of the month, please check out the list of events for the whole month here. In it you will see information on the two holidays, New Years Day and Islander's Day, and the Cozy Cottage ICC event later this month.

Seasonal Update
We've moved out of fall and into Winter (as if the snow didn't give it away), and all of our island happening threads have updated accordingly. You can find them all here.

Resolutions
We've set up a thread here for all your SA related new years resolutions and would like to also point out the existing thread for resolutions you might have for your real life here.

Odds and Ends
The Alternate Universe forum has been retired due to continued confusion about what it was for. Threads set in alternate realities that are canon should be placed in anywhere else. Non-canon AU versions can be played out in Free for All.

The Donation feature has been turned off.

The Patreon also continues to be on pause. Due to an error, you may have been charged for this month - but we've reverted it back to being on pause, and expect to have the Patreon revamped in the new year.​

Character Image Change
We've made a significant change to how we handle character images. This change has not been implemented yet, and will not become a true rule until February. Please read over the complete change here, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Winter Mystery Continues
The Winter Mystery is ongoing, but after some apparent confusion about the system as it stands, we've revamped and posted a more detailed explanation for how things are going. Round three is starting over. If you've already posted, please post again.

Cozy Cottage
January 19th to 21st is our annual cozy cottage ICC event. You can read some more details about that event here.

Staff Change
Bijou has returned to staff as an advisor. This is a new position, which focuses primarily on site development rather than day to day maintenance.

Odds and Ends
We have a survey up here about music bot in the discord. Please check it out.

For those who ICC, please don't use " to signify speech text. The " character at the start of a message breaks the code, and isn't needed. Any text not wrapped in some kind of action indicator (like - or *) is assumed to be speech.​
