Ughhhh.
That was pretty much all the range of sound he could muster right now. A tired, sick groan. Yeah, he'd gotten one of theose mask thingies, but it wasn't exactly helping all the chills he got. Or the weirdo ice powers. Although, he'd giv the Virus something - his new powers were kinda cool. Heh. The steady thumps of his feet helped ease his nausea... for now. As long as he focused on those, he could uh.... well. Not puke. Nix chuckled to himself. Nah. If he was being real with himself, he'd need some sorta meds to get through the days.
Drawing his coat tighter around himself, he rounded the corner of the now-familiar string of buildings known as the Strip. It was actually way warmer than it felt.... but then again, freakin' chills. At least he wasn't crashing into anything... yet.
Heheh. Anyways.
The redhead spotted the sign overhead before he knew he was falling - a big-ish sign. "Ada's Elven Armor and magical Necessities." THUMP.
That was his butt. On the cold concrete. Crap.
With a frustrated sigh, he picked himself up again. Better head into that Necessities store - might have some of the stuff that'd help with the nausea. Which had become, to be honest, a bigger problem now.
Ding.
"Uhhh.... Scuse me! Is there, uh.... Is this place open...?" He asked, kind of awkwardly. He DID just walk in... but then again. Whatever. This virus - whatever the hell it was - was making his brain a bit fuzzy. Or maybe it was the chills. The pyrokinetic couldn't be sure.

Ada looked up from her book with drool practically running down her mouth...
"Oh God, a customer finally..." she whispered to herself... Her eyes had basically sewn themselves shut during her wait...

"Welcome to my shop... I'm Ada!" she reached out her hand for a potential handshake. "And you are?"

She walked back over to the bookshelf to re-shelve it. On her way back to the center of the shop she began ranting... "So, what's brought you in today... armor, food, soul gems? I've got just about anything you'd need for beginning your first potion.. Say the words and I'll get right on your order! You may need to give me a couple minutes to prepare everything depending on what you want, but I'm here to help of course!"

Presenting her new customer with a menu of items, she turned around and walked back behind her counter ready to discuss business.

"Don't forget to ask if you need to be measured... it just depends on what you want to buy of course! Oh and don't forget to sign my guest book by the counter!"

Her cat, Aesop softly mewed, and she hoped her patron was not allergic.
She noticed her customer looked a wee bit tired, "Sir, are you feeling well?"

Grabbing a tincture of juniper berry essential oil she let it waft near his face...
"How do you feel?"
Looking directly at him, she waited for a response.

He mustered up a grin for the obviously enthusiastic shopkeeper. Man, she reminded him of himself, kinda. If nothing else, she was chipper. If only he could be that chipper today - apparently being a downer was one of the symptoms of the virus. Speaking of which...
He smiled sheepishly. "Aw, man. I would, but uh, I'm sick. Like, really sick. Don't wanna make you sick too." Aaaaand she was already on her feet, rambling on about armor and measuring. It was... Well it was kinda cute. He took a look around. The store was stocked with everything Nix could imagine, from armor platelets to tiny little vials of liquid perched precariously around. This was a real looker of a store. "Uhh... Phoenix is the name - but you can call me Nix. Easier that way." He told Ada, leaning against the table. "So uh.... You got any anti-nausea potions in here? Something I can use to not throw up?" He joked. "I kid, I kid. But uh. Really. Any anti-nausea stuff around here?"

Ada made eye contact with Nix and realized how handsome he really was even though he looked a bit ill. She imagined he'd look a little less green when he was healthy, and even before he told her he was nauseated she already knew...

"Nausea, ok... let me get my grimoire.." she sighed and then smiled, "We'll get you feeling better in no time. By the way, do you know exactly what this sickness is, or when you picked it up? Have you seen a doctor? Are you contagious? Sorry, that's a lot, I'm a very talkative elf. Ha."

She grabbed an ancient dusty volume off the shelves and thumbed through it before settling on a page. She than blew the heavy dust out of the margins.
"Looks like the best options are garlic, fennel, and dill. Would you like a salad? I'll make some tea for you as well! Ginger and chamomile? How does that sound?"

"While I whip you up some things, why don't you sit down by the fireplace, and let my aromatic candles do the trick.. They will help calm the nerves... And oh! You are my first customer, so today it's no charge. It's horrible that you are ill like this... Give me a couple minutes and I'll be right back!"

Ada grabbed a tea cup from above her "tea bar" and poured two kinds of tea, she also took some sugar cubes and creamer with her to set it on the coffee table which was in front of the large fireplace. She smiled at Nix and went back into the kitchen to get some ingredients for the salad.

She wondered what kind of person Nix was.. he seemed so, wise... That was really the only word that came to mind from what she had seen of his personality. Tossing the salad with the dill, garlic and fennel, she realized she never let him have a chance to answer if he wanted it or not. Oh well, if he doesn't then I'll eat it. She smiled to herself.

Worried that she might have kept him waiting too long she brought the cucumber dressing and the salad back to Nix and then gave him some privacy.

Nix flashed a charming smirk. "Don't worry 'bout it - I'm a talkative human myself. Lotta talkin' in this guy." He pointed to himself. "I get it. So uh... To answer your questions, yes, no, no, a little bit. In that order." Leaning against the counter, he observed his surroundings - this time noticing a "no cursing" sign nearby. It was great he'd seen that, he figured - he was quite the uh, cusser. Yeah, he'd admit that. Now that he'd seen that, he'd go easy on the language. "Garlic, fennel and dill... Heh. Nice." To be honest.... Yeah, Nix was hungry. Ish. And tea to top it all off. Wow. "That'd actually be really, really nice. Perfect, actually. Uhh... Yeah. Please?"
No sooner had he replied before she had sprung up from her spot, flitting around the room and getting various ingredients. That should have been him, actually going to get the stuff. And free of charge, too? Damn, she was nice. Like... really nice. Nix chuckled. "Now you're making me feel bad, Ada. At least lemme pay you for it, will ya?" From he pocket of his jacket he took out his wallet, ready to pay a pretty penny... aaand she was back on her feet again, probably to get the salads. And the tea. He chuckled to himself again.
Yeah, he had to admit. That Ada chick was cute as hell. Leaning back in the seat, the redhead thought to himself a bit. How would he describe this girl? Hmm... Kind, definitely. That seemed to sum her up pretty good. The place she ran seemed to work like a charm - heheh. Pun intended - and she seemed to have a lot of concern for him, despite just meeting.
Finally she returned with the cucumber dressing and salad, which Nix gently took from her, setting them down in front of the chair. "Thanks again. It smells absolutely amazing." And yeah, it was kinda helping, too - his nausea seemed to have died down a little. "Unbeleafably so." AHA. A pun.

Ada had left Nix alone for awhile to scarf down the food she had made, but she decided it was time to go check on him.
"How are you feeling, Nix? Better? You look like you enjoyed the food. How about we eat some together sometime? Oh, I'm sorry was that too forward? Well, either way the offer still stands. And you can pay for dinner if you like." she smiled sheepishly.

She grabbed the dishes and stuck them on a counter near the kitchen door.

"Is it possible that you might be able to tell me more about this illness you are experiencing. It might help me cure or ease the pain from future customers with the same problems, and also I am just interested in health vs. sickness in general. I like to keep books on all my customers. That way I can see what sort of herbs they've taken and their reactions. You know, I would also like to know if you have any powers. I'm aware that most beings on the island do have some sort of supernatural powers, in general class and race and powers - that's the type of info I'd like to write down."

She grabbed a pen and sat down beside him and looked at him eagerly awaiting his response so she could scribble all the info down in her handy dandy notebook.

It took a few seconds, just to kinda process everything Ada had said. Dinner.... Having dinner sometime. Yeah, that'd be super fun. Nix could picture it now - anecdotes, really funny jokes, bonding. A new friend, to be sure. "That salad was actually awesome. Like, it was really freakin' good." For a second, he wondered if she was a chef... The he remembered he was basically in a jack store - it had nearly everything as far as the redhead could tell. "Here - at least lemme pay for that." And with a smile, he took out a crisp twenty and offered it to Ada. "Man, I gotta cook for you sometime. Can't make a killer salad like this one, but I do make a pretty darn good panini. Steak and cheese and everything." He smiled. "Uhh... Thanks again. I feel a lot better now."
Sighing, he leaned back, grin ever present on his face. Wow. Another similarity between them - they both liked to write things down. And especially her pose, just now. Heheh. She'd make a good secretary too. OH! Which reminded him. She'd asked a question of him. Well - not just one. A few of them.
"Alright. From the top, or...? I can ramble a hit, so uh, fair warning. If I uh, go off-track, please stop me. Heh. By the way... That's actually a good idea! Keeping a patient's log... Sweet stuff, man." And crap, he was gettin' off topic. Again.
"Ahem. Whenever you're ready." He said, with a charming little smirk.

Ada smiled at Nix affectionately. "You... cook for me? A panini? Mmmm that does sound good. steak and cheese, and everything... oh, right sorry. So my first question is when did you notice symptoms began to occur? Second, have you had any symptoms besides nausea? Third, do you have any residual symptoms now? Fourth, do you know what virus or illness you have? Those are my questions about this specific issue."

Ada knew she was asking a lot, but this is her business it means a lot to her. Knowing that supernatural beings on the island were getting sick was part of her job, to stop symptoms and keep them from coming back.

"Also if you don't mind can you fill out this store registration page... well no we might be getting dinner together sometime right? You can do the rest of this later..." Ada blushed and stopped all eye contact.
She couldn't believe she might have met someone this soon. Her store had just opened, and here she was... dating? She hadn't been on a date in over a year. What would she wear... then again, what if it wasn't a date? Maybe he was just going to cook her dinner, a friendly sort of thing. She started hyper analyzing the situation with a million what ifs and doubts began to fog over her eyes as she stared into space.

"Ugh heh." she cleared her throat.
"Well, I'm not trying to, well...." she smiled nervously at Nix.

Nix shot a smile back, nodding. "Don't worry 'bout it - gotta make plans soon, huh? But um. Yeah. I worked at a bakery a few years back. Really awesome place - 'specially when it's a family bakery. Nothin' better than being woken up at 4 in the morning by your mum yellin' about having the coffee ready before morning shift. Best sh - uh, stuff ever. AHEM. Anyways. Feel free to write anything down - i'm a pretty chill dude, y'know. Least, I hope so. Heh. Sorry, gettin' off track. Uhh... Not sure when they showed up. Maybe a week or so ago. I uh....went over to the classes (I'm a university student at the university there) - " He pointed in the general direction of the school - "and next thing I know, I'm sneezing, depressed as heck and practically freezing my a - aaastronomically hot butt.... off." And he was rambling again. He hoped Ada wouldn't mind. Man, having a filter was hard to do. Oh well - could've gone worse, and anyway he had a feeling she wouldn't mind, if that blush told him anything. Maybe it was the heaters in this place that was making her do that? Of course he wouldn't feel them - damn chills. "It's still, um, ongoing, but uhm. Still kinda cold and everything, but the nausea seems to have gone away for a bit. No doubt because of the salad. Anyways. Yeah - the name of the virus is the March Virus. Nasty little thing, that. Not even letting me have fun anymore." Nix chuckled.
If only he'd come sooner, say at maybe nineteen or something. He would've already known this nice chick, and - oh man, if he could've brought Ham along with him. That nerdo loved stuff like this. Well - Nix had to admit - so did he. Especially if it meant a new friend!
Oh, right. Speaking of.
Nix snapped out of it as Ada cleared her throat, and shot her a wink. "Right. Dinner. Yeah. Well, uh. I can fill out the form now, if you want. It'd be a pleasure. Although," and here his voice became playful, "if you wanted my number you coulda just asked." The pyrokinetic chuckled, then sighed. "Nah, nah. I kid. Really it works whenever. Now, later - really, it's up to you. M' not picky." The tone he was going for was reassuring.

"Nix, that's great. Thank you for the information really."
Some other customers had walked in to look around, and Ada, her busybody self, had helped them all. Some of them had "The March Virus" some, just came to look around.

Ada smiled, "I'm glad we could help each other."

"Do you have your own place or do you live at the university?" Ada was curious. But as the saying goes, Curiosity killed that cat. She just hoped her curiosity wouldn't hurt her. Her impression of Nix was positive, really positive. She just had a history of being alone and now that she was on the island, she wanted that to change.

After helping all of the customers, she was about to close the store for the day. She laughed, "Are you going to stay here all night? Fine, by me, but seeing as your sick, you really need to go to sleep. I was just kidding before, about me going to your place. No, actually I was nervous. It's been a while since I've talked to a man my own age."
[BCOLOR=#000000]She blushed, she blushed so much she felt like she had a fever..[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#000000]"When you are feeling better, let's go to that new them park. Didney Worl, is it?"[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#000000]Ada grabbed the keys to her shop and walked out the door holding it open for Nix.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#000000]"I'm really not trying to kick you out, I had a lot of fun with you today."[/BCOLOR]
