Donny took a deep breath and looked around the back room of his shop. Everything was now set up just as he wanted it. The shop was closed for the day as it was his daughter, Alice's birthday. He had rearranged the room so that you could barely even tell it was effectively a workshop and effectively converted it into a party room almost overnight. It was arguably one of his most daunting tasks yet since Alice was rather inquisitive. Although it wasn't the party so much as the presents he had waiting for her that he was concerned about her discovering. He could easily pass off the Greatsword he'd forged for her as a custom order for a client. The Demonization chamber on the other hand was a bit more tricky. He'd always had the thing in the basement, however he hadn't taken time to maintain the thing since it wasn't exactly a good idea for everyone to hop into it.

Alice was a prime candidate though. She was undead and still had her mind and the ability to reason. She was essentially a normal child at the end of the day. She was also young meaning that she would have time to really grow used to her new demonic form before reaching adulthood. Her shot immune system and near constant sickness was ultimately the deciding factor for him. If she were to successfully become a demon that problem would be solved along with giving her a generous increase in her strength as well. Thereby making it a more ideal option.

Donny went to the upstairs section of the shop, his personal living space to check up on his daughter. And fix her something light to eat. He'd made a point of setting up a relatively effective glamour charm to make the workshop still appear as it always did. She might be perceptive enough to see through the ruse, he was teaching her all the tricks he knew after all. He scratched their pet Kangaroo behind the ears as he prepared a plate for her as well. It was going to be a good day.

Alice groggily woke up. Today was her special day, and she had no idea what was in store. Papa did an incredible job covering up his tracks. She tried so hard to figure out what he had planned, but it didn't work. Little did she know there were others also in on this. Her only choice was to wait and see. Considering that she didn't remember her past birthdays being all that great, this made her all the more excited to see what her father would do. Her demon father that is; not like she considered that other man her father anymore though.

She popped out of her room to see Papa preparing plates of food. Figuring that he heard her come out already, she ran over to hug him. An inquisitive look was in her eye as she showed her father affection. At the same time, she attempted to coyly feel for anything weird or out of place on him. Something that would give her a clue towards his plans for her.

"Hey Papa!"

Thankfully this was one of her healthy days, so at worst she was sniffling a bit. Being sick sucked. Those scientists did a number on her body, and it made her furious just thinking about it. However, this was a day of joy, not anger so she was pretty content. Irritatingly curious but content.

"So you know what today is~ What are we doing?"

The girl gave him the adorable sparkly eyes. Funny how cute she was despite the many facial scars.

On the bright side Alice sounded good, well as good as someone who's constantly sick could be. It was probably such a constant by now that she was used to the varying levels. He could probably even renovate his shop if he added up the money he spent on medication for her. But today would be the last day for her being anywhere near sick. He put the plate at her place on the table and turned to face her his lips curling into his signature grin when things were playing out well for him.

"Well, we're not doing all that much today. Maybe have some cake, watch a movie or ten," his voice trailed off as he sent out the text messages to those he'd invited to start coming in and taking their places. Part of him wanted to spill everything to her. But he was an older demon, he knew how to resist spilling his secrets.

"I wasn't sure how you'd be feeling so I didn't plan anything big," it sounded convincing enough. There's no way she'd see through that one at all. At most hopefully she just assumed that he was just making her gift and hiding it away over the past few weeks.

"You should hurry up and eat though, I have something to show you."

When Klaus had asked Shay if she wanted to go to Alice's birthday, Shay had agreed, because what else could she do? She didn't know Alice well, though she'd seen the girl in Donny's shop. She'd never spoke much to either Alice or Donny. Shay wasn't even certain what presents Klaus had gotten.

Cecily, the servant Doll, who lived with the Rosales', had carried most of the packages when they were setting up the surprise party. That seemed to be the type of things she did for the family. Shay always wondered if that was Cecily's only job, to be the made or the laborer. She seemed to enjoy it enough.

Shay had dressed up for the occasion (something that was becoming more common for her). A red and white dress, sleeveless with a laced top and a red ribbon tied around the waist. She was beginning to enjoy lace.

Looking up at Klaus, Shay shifted closer to him, almost behind him. She wasn't scared, per say, more nervous. She'd never done this before.
