At Carmin's question, Fe sat back and gave the answer some real thought. She had a few instruments in mind, but not all of them fit the bill. She wanted something that would not only be simple to learn but also had an easy learning curve chord and note-wise. Something that was interesting but also allowed him to get a feel for reading music.

Suddenly, it hit her, and she broke out in an excited grin. "The mandolin!" she exclaimed as she sat forward again. "The mandolin would be perfect for you," she stated. "It's slightly less complicated than the guitar, and it has a great sound," she explained.

The mandolin? Carmin wasn't sure if he'd ever heard of that instrument before, but from the sound of it, it was perfect. He was already thinking of getting a guitar before, but a slightly simpler version of that would certainly be better.

"Okay, I think that sounds pretty good. You're sure it's okay if I borrow it?" He was going to have to make an effort not to damage it, but it was certainly convenient for him. This way he wouldn't have to buy an instrument before deciding if he was going to stick to it.

"Of course, " Fe said. "You can use it for as long as you need. I haven't played it in years. Besides, It'll be nice to know it's getting some use." She admitted as she began slowly tearing the label off her bottle of water.

"Also my instrument of choice is the grand piano right now... I even have a tutor at the moment to help me master it," she explained, mentioning Robert her piano teacher.

"Oh, and you should meet Jericho one of these days. He's my manager and the owner of The Foxhole," Fe told Carmin. "He'll want to meet the genius who has been writing my music lately," she told Carmin with a real smile.

Carmin nodded along. “Right, thank you then.”

It was interesting hearing Fe’s instrument of choice. It reminded him that he hadn’t actually heard anything Fe had done before. He’d certainly have to change that, especially if he was going to be writing more for her.

When meeting Jericho was mentioned, Carmin wasn’t sure what to think. He really didn’t want more people knowing about this than necessary, but perhaps an exception should be made for Fe’s manager. It kind of made sense after all. Hearing himself referred to as a genius also may have helped with the persuasion, although it made him get visibly lighter in the face again.

“Maybe... I guess I could come and listen to one of your performances and meet him then, at The Foxhole?“

Fe almost dropped her water bottle when she heard Carmin actually ask if he could come to one of her shows and meet her Foxy fox. In fact, if she wasn't such a good actress and used to rolling with things, she might have done just that.

"I'd be delighted if you came," she told him quite honestly. "Here. Take this," she said as she pulled Jericho's business card out of her wallet and scribbled on the back. It was a message to Hella to sit Carmin close to the stage when he came in.

"There's a pink-haired girl that works there, Hella," Fe explained. "Give her this and she'll take care of you."

Carmin inspected the card, quickly putting together who Hella was from how Fe described her. She was that girl who was sometimes in the Community Center with Aura. The pink hair was a dead giveaway. “I think I’ve met them...”

It was a little worrisome actually. He couldn’t have Hella finding out about him, about any of this little partnership. “Hella won’t be learning about the whole uh... easy breezy thing. About this? She’s just going to think I’m there to watch the show and that’s it? Right?”

"Hella is just a waitress, Carmin. I simply trust her to treat you well. You don't need to worry too much about that though. Even if she did find out, she is discreet. I've never really known Hella to gossip," Fe said as she tried to reassure him.

"It'll be fine, Carmin. Nobody is going to make fun of you. Being a singer's songwriter is a big deal, you know?" Fe insisted gently, guessing that he was stressing on "what ifs"...

"Besides, if they do bother you, they will need to contend with me, and I doubt anyone wants that..." she added with a wicked smile. Fe knew she could be a handful. She wasn't also above using one of her songs on a bully.

Carmin nodded, trying to let his worries subside. Being so out of his comfort zone was a jump and it seemed to be keeping him a tad on edge. There were all sorts of things that could go wrong and it was difficult to let them go. Although, what Fe said certainly did help.

"Alright, I'll try not to worry..." Without a doubt there was going to be worrying, there was always something to worry about, but he could at least attempt to keep it a little at bay.

"What time then, should I come to watch?"

"Good," Fe said. "Well, on the weekends I usually start a little after 9. I'd suggest coming a little earlier to get a seat. Although..." here Fe stopped to think for a second, her nails rapping the side of the bottle.

"I could... If you let me know when you are coming. I could have the girls reserve a table near the stage for you," she offered.

As per the usual, Carmin had no plans for the whole weekend, so picking a time really didn't matter in the slightest. The only potential issue was his wardrobe. He only really had his school uniform, and a few sets of pretty casual clothes that he rarely even wore. He wasn't sure any of that would be appropriate for the type of place he was going.

He was certainly running low on funds lately, but if he was going to start working, then he figured he could probably spend what he had left on some nicer clothes. "That would be nice actually... How about Saturday, would um, that work?" That way he could get something to wear ahead of time.
