Drex Di'Ardun was fighting a furious battle. His enemies were pushing him back even as he kept them from entering. He would not relent, the only thing that would let them by is if they bleed him dry. Even then he would be up again with in a day or three. But even that amount of time was to much to let them by. Breathing heavily he saw a caster in the back moved and casted something at Drex. Bracing for impact but as he was ready for a fireball or lightning he was not ready for the very floor underneath him to completely disappear. Even with some of his feet still on the ground the press of bodies pushed him into the hole in the ground.

Floating, he was floating... blinking he actually saw clouds going by. He was not floating he was falling. He didn't quite know how to control his fall. So all he could do was watch as he entered the treeline and he could feel his bones shattering, some of his body being punctured by shattered wood and he proceeded to black out.

The next thing he knew he coughed up a slight mist of red fresh blood and the dry black specks of dried blood. Looking around the clinking of his armor against itself as he looked upon his body. There were many large shards piercing his upper body. His lower body was relatively intact. But he could have sworn that he had broken bones so he could only assume that he was going to need some time to finish healing. Coughing again some more blood trailed down his chin onto his chest. As he layed there he heard something moving closer. It would suck if something came to kill him here in the middle of the woods. "If you are here to finish it, make it quick."

Dalia was going to get a talking to when she got home. Might even get grounded, who knew. But it didn't matter; she needed to be alone.
School had been better since her stay in juvie only in the sense that no one was actively bullying her anymore. Now instead, hardly anyone spoke to her, and the only looks she got from anyone were ones of disgust and fear.

And to make matters worse, her sisters were receiving the same treatment.

How she found herself out in the woods was kind of a mystery. Dalia hadn't really intended to go here. She just wanted to be somewhere where no one else was for a while. Just let out all her frustration and anger and maybe go home and not be in a funk.

She stopped at one point and just screamed and slashed away at the trunk of a tree with her claws. Squirrels and birds scattered at the outburst, but when it was over Dalia felt no better. So she moved further in, just wandering in hopes of maybe clearing her head.

She smelled the blood before she heard or saw anything. There was a lot. Then her ears picked up the sound of a voice. A man's voice?
"If you are here to finish it, make it quick."

Make what quick? Dalia asked herself the question even as her mind formed the answer. Death. Someone was dying. Her heartbeat quickened.

Dalia felt her steps lightening as she moved towards the sound of the voice. Using shadows as best as she could to navigate unseen, unheard. She hoped. Her curiosity overpowered any fear she had that told her to run home.

Finding the place, Dalia skittered up into a tree and maneuvered herself as stealthily as she could into the branches. And looked down. Her gasp probably have her away, if he hadn't already heard her approach.

It was another Arachne demon, but different. First of all, it was definitely a man. His human skin was jet black and his hair was like silver silk. His spider body was covered in hair, like a real spider.

And gods, he was massive. Dalia's mind went to Nasci, the only other bug demon she had seen with comparable size. The fear decided in that moment to take over, but instead of letting her run it froze the spiderling in place. Wouldn't let her take her eyes off the spider in front of her. Eventually, she worked up the courage to say something.

"I'm not going to hurt you. D-do you want some help?"

Drex kept his eyes closed as he waited for the end. It did not come however, coughing to clear his air way of blood he opened his eyes. Looking around he could not see any of his pathetic enemies. Instead he heard a young woman's voice call down to him. Looking in the direction of the sound he saw a small Spider Demon like himself. But was female. He had to move, there were things one did not do in the presence of the Matriarchy. Though his bones shifted and he began to bleed anew from his wounds he went into the approximation of a bow. Fist over his heart and head bowed.

"I am sorry for how I appear my lady. I must also apologize for making you worry. When I am given rest I shall be back in fit shape to guard the Home Cavern once more..." even as he talked he could feel the large gashes in his skin and punctures where his wounds were. He also could hear his carapace under his hairs grinding againat itself. Reevaluating his wounds he was in for at least three days of rest before he would be able to return to his duty. "I am still somewhat capable of serving. What can this humble soldier do for the Matriarchy?"

Matriarchy. Home Cavern. None of what this Arachne was saying made any sense. Dalia skittered down the tree a bit, still wary. He looked severely injured, but that could be a trick. Like how Mal tricked Nasci into thinking the centipede had beaten her.

He was also asking her what he should do. She really didn't understand. But then again, some books on spiders she had read mentioned that female spiders were the dominant of the species, usually bigger and stronger than the males. Neither of those things applied to Dalia though. She didn't even think the 'bigger' would apply to Mama.

"Just... don't move," she said, testing her luck. "I'm going to look at your injuries."

Dred nodded in acknowledgement and his body lowered to the ground so it would be easier for the little one could examine him. Though he dropped down more then lowered himself as there was a moderate thud as his bulk dropped the rest of the way to the ground. He was sure if this was a priestess he would have insulted her for doing that but his strength was not great at the moment and his wounds though healing would prevent him from doing anything to strenuous.

"My wounds are nothing my lady, they shall recede in time." Even as he said this there was blood soaking the ground where cracked carapace and cut skin had reopened from even what he had done in getting on his feet again. "If you still wish to review my injuries... I am here to serve the Matriarchy." It would do him no good to insult or assume anything from the females of the species.

As she skittered closer, her back legs and pedipalps working together to bring silk into her hands, Dalia found her courage.
"I don't care. If it'll take them a few hours to heal, you'll still bleed out by then. Idiot adults. Always getting yourselves hurt."

She approached, her eyes scanning his wounds. They were bad, but she knew from what Mama had told her that she should focus on the ones on his abdomen first. That part didn't have veins, so blood would just leak out like punching a hole in a bottle.
Dalia spun her web into a gauze, alternating the sticky threads with the non-adhesive to make a bandage of sorts. She pulled it tight across one of the wounds, closing it as best she could.

She continued working like this, her hands busying themselves with her silk and her jaw set intent on her task.
She didn't bother messing with the shrapnel in his torso. She was afraid of removing it, lest it make him bleed even more. Why did she even care? She didn't know this man. He was nothing to her. Mama wouldn't bother with him. She'd probably eat him. Mal wouldn't either, she would just leave.

But Dalia couldn't. Something in her made her want to help him. He probably didn't deserve these wounds. Then again, maybe he did.
Either way, she continued to work, ignoring anything he might have said until she was finished. Stepping back, the spiderling admired her work and was content.

"How does that feel? Any better? At least you won't bleed out now."

Drex remained as he stayed as still as he could in his condition "As you wish my lady." Drex's voice was a little tired but he cropped that up to his blood loss. Watching the little one patch up his body where they could. He couldn't counter any of the points she was bringing up, she would have the authority to have him put to the death for even just disagreeing with her. When she was finished he stayed where he was simply breathing in and out a bit easier. Though he was pretty sure he still had several wounds under his armor or in places the little one could not reach. But he did have to agree, not being passed out for his healing would certainly be better.

"I breath easier with your aid my Lady." He gave the little lady a respectful nod. "After I have rested I shall return to the Home Cavern. If I may, where is the nearest entrance for me to find my way there?" He didn't begin to move but he was ready to begin his journey there if he was so needed to at this moment.

Dalia frowned and shook her head in confusion. This guy kept using words she had no idea about, and it was frustrating her more than anything.
"I don't know what a Home Cavern is. Are you sure you didn't hit your head?"

Without really bothering to ask, Dalia reached up and grabbed his head. He was low enough for that much, at least. Though, she had no idea what a head injury looked like and couldn't really be sure about it.

"Are you from Grandpa Odie's Hell?"

For a moment Dred just stayed where he was stunned. The little one didn't know the Home Cavern... But how could that be? True this little one didn't have the same skin color or hair color of the people, but she had the form of the Goddess. Even through his momentary stunning he moved without thought and lowered his head so the little one could examine him as she wished. In some party of his mound he wondered where his helmet was.

Through the fog that had temporarily clouded his mind as he tried to think he heard the little one's question. Grandpa Odie? Drex had never heard the name before. "I'm sorry lady, I have not heard that name. I habe only heard of the Goddess. Males such as myself are not permitted to say her name as proclaimed by the Clergy of Sisters."

Keeping his head bowed Drex continued to think, the little one might Syl be examining him. Better not too take chances. But he had to ask a question, he couldn't help but feel his gut twisting in trepidation as he spoke. "Is there a place one such as myself may go to find... answers to troublesome questions that are beneath the Matriarchy? I do not wish to offend with my ignorance."

Dalia frowned and released Drex's head. She skittered away from him a bit, confused even more. It only lasted a second though as her brain put together the information.
"You're not from this planet!"

Her exclamation was one of immense certainty, and also very loud. Any birds and small creatures that had remained in the area scattered at the sudden outburst.
It was the only thing that made sense to her. Malara apparently hadn't known about Mama's hell when she first arrived.

She blinked, lost in her own thoughts momentarily as she pondered his next question. "Well there's the school. They know a lot of stuff. I could show you where it is, if you can even walk."
