Amber clung to her mom dearly like flotsam drifting in along the stormy waves of a dark ocean. Her mother's assurances and her attempts to comfort her were the only thing keeping her from falling into complete despair. Her mom was smart. Her mom knows lots of things. Her mom could do anything! She will figure this out... at least so hoped Amber.
It felt a little weird to be walking along the upperclassmen classrooms. Especially with college-age students all around. Amber could feel the stares of the adults watching her as she latched herself close to her mother, most them more alarmed by elementary attire rather than her spidery appearance. While they may have been nothing more than curious onlookers... she didn't like them looking at her in her current state. She hoped that they wouldn't judge her mom too harshly.
Amber felt a little safer when they reached the third floor for the lack of people meant less eyes watching her and her mom. The room her mother Chloe brought her into was rather dark and empty save for some furniture and strange eerie devices. Part of her really wanted to ask what was the purpose of some of those strange machines but... it was probably best to save for after they get the answers they find in the first place.
"OH... yes. Of course! I'll be... right here." replied Amber in response to her mom's announcement.
Amber was content with waiting for while but her curiosity got the best of her as she walked up to one of the strange metallic devices that seemed to glow with some magical power she has yet to learn. She contemplated touching the object, her hand reaching out before she wisely pulled it back. It was probably best not to touch thing she she did not understand. Its was their lack of understanding that brought them to this room in the first place.
