There were very few things in life that could annoy Kristen. Chewing with your mouth open? Didn't faze her. Talking on your phone on public transport? Could be worse. Pushy mall kiosk salespeople that won't take 'no' for an answer? They're just doing their jobs.
The point was, Kris was a laid-back person. But, you see, the whole point of volunteering at an animal hospital was to, y'know, work with animals. Not sit at the front desk and play Candy Crush on your phone for hours on end. She let out a long-winded sigh as her screen blew up with joyful music and colorful explosions. It was a quiet day, and the receptionist was out sick. She understood all too well why she had to man the front desk today, but it didn't mean she had to like it.
She was about to open another game when the bell over the door chimed, announcing a guest. She immediately sat up, perking right up in genuine interest. "Hello, how can I help you? Do you have an appointment?"
