Morgan's answer was somehow unexpected and Xavi blinked at him once. He could tell Morgan wasn't trying to be unkind, but somehow the answer was so obvious Xavi felt stupid and amused. Then he laughed a bit, although he stifled it quickly, not wanting to be rude. But there was a small smile on Xavi's face when he wiped away some more tears. They were dying down slowly, thankfully.
"That's true. A very good answer, if I may say so. I feel a bit stupid for worrying."
Xavi chuckled, very appreciative for Morgan's words.

Xavi swiped his bangs to the side a bit, trying to make proper eye contact with Morgan. The small smile remained on his face when Morgan apologized to Xavi, and he shook his head slightly. Morgan's voice was quiet and calm, it reminded Xavi of a light breeze that made your hair sway lightly and invigorated you.
"There is no need to apologize. Rather, I'm grateful. Not just anyone would've done the same just to cheer up a crying stranger, especially after learning they're a lust demon."
Xavi looked down a bit, and the smile died a bit and some sadness seeped into it. Today he just couldn't let go of his hateful thoughts towards his own nature, as it was the reason for his pain.

Xavi could see Morgan's uncertainty, and felt bad he had caused such a feeling in the boy. Morgan had just tried to help, and Xavi trusted his own judgement enough to deem that he hadn't done it with ulterior motives. So when Morgan offered to just take the stairs down Xavi shook his head slightly, and tried to get some energy into his smile. He failed, but his smie was gentle with the slight melancholy undertone it always had.
"Um, if you don't mind we could...go to this music cafe I know. It isn't the place I talked about earlier, because I do not think I have the confidence to take a new acquaintance there. But it's still nice."
Xavi looked away bit shyly and shrugged, rubbing his other arm a bit.

Morgan nodded enthusiastically, "Food, music, and good company? Sign me up." He said with a wry smile as he absentmindedly flexed his wings. As much as he'd like to stretch the darn things, now wasn't the time. "Lead the way, I know of a few Music Cafe's but I'm not sure I know the specific one you're referring to." Morgan said whilst bashfully scratching the back of his head.

"N-not that my sense of direction is off or that I don't know my way around the island." The demi-god rambled although after a moment he seemed to recollect himself. It was at this moment, the awkwardness of his previous statement crashed down upon him. His normally fair, expressionless face gained a slightly ruddy hue as he blushed.

"I-" He opened his mouth in an attempt to further salvage his lapse in social savvy, however he came up several words short of what he wanted to say. With a defeated sigh, he gave Xavi a rueful smirk. "You'd think after taking so many years of English class, I'd be better at this speaking thing." He said with a sigh as his featureless eyes gazed skyward. "Anyway, I'm ready to go when you are." Morgan said fixing Xavi with his gaze once again.

Xavi smiled a bit and looked down shyly when Morgan referred to him as "good company". He kind of felt he was deceiving Morgan, since Xavi's company had often been described as dull or boring.
"I'll do my best to offer good company, though I can't make any promises. I can promise the music will be pleasant and food...tolerable. They are more known for their drinks."
Xavi sent Morgan a small sad smile, trying to joke around. He didn't know if he was doing a good job at it.

Xavi blinked once and tried not to smile or laugh when Morgan tried to explain his words and then proceeded to blush. Xavi didn't think anything of the awkwardness, though he thought Morgan's reaction to it was interesting, in a good way. Xavi smiled and chuckled a bit when Morgan gave up on trying to salvage himself. Though Xavi thought he had never said or done anything to try and salvage.
"I think you're great at speaking, much better than me at times,"
Xavi smiled gently, and lifted his arm to finally wipe away the last of his tears.
"Shall we go then?"
Xavi gestured towards the stairs and waited for Morgan to go first.

"Company, food, music, and drinks. I like the sound of this place already." Morgan said with a soft chuckle. At the mention of him being a better speaker, Morgan quickly shook his head. "I'm not exactly the most social or optimistic of people heh. My wings are a pretty good representation of how most people see me. Bleak, for lack of a better word." He said in a matter of fact tone without a change of expression, betraying no emotion as to what he really felt.

Quickly switching the subject, Morgan nodded to indicate he was ready to leave and folded his wings back to avoid clipping them as he walked through the doorway. "This should be fun though, it's been a while since I've been able to relax and not have to worry about school, or disappointed parents." He joked lightheartedly.

Although in the back of his mind, a small piece of bitter resentment still smoldered. Well reserved for the event he ever saw his mother again. That reunion would be a much less happy one than anyone had any notion of.
