It Was Just Another Day, Right?

Evangeline listened to the girl giggle and noticed her being a bit squirmy, as she talked but it didn't bother her any. It only made Evangeline smile to herself. She looked to Kiyana as she was processing what she had just told her, and it seemed to Evangeline she was forming some kind of conclusion as to what she was in her head. But she wasn't so sure until she came up with the choices of time traveler, Evangeline hadn't even thought of that one. Then came along Demi God? Which she had heard. Then bingo, Immortality. Evangeline looked down quickly, if that hadn't given it away she didn't know what else would.

As much as I wish I was a time traveler, no that's not the case." Evaneline laughes. "Immortal is what I am, but not by choice. At first I was happy, afterall I get to be young, and stay the age of twenty-two forever, never growing old. Sounds great right?" Evangeline's voice grew much softer. "After seeing most of my family die from a far and not getting to be with them kind of gets to you after a while.. I have great nieces that are older than me now. This immortality isn't normal but I have no other choice now but to accept it as my normal. It's why I can't be happy, because I can never have friends that last more than a few years. And I can never have anyone that's more than a friend because no one would accept it." Evangeline fiddled with her fingers, she couldn't bring herself to look at Kiyana. "Sorry I'm being a downer."

It seemed that she had guessed right. Evangeline was immortal. Looking at her, even though she was looking down and away from her, she knew that in her mind, it didn't change a thing. She listened though, to what she had to say on the matter. It wasn't a pretty power, that was for sure. Seeing all of the people she loved and cared for eventually die must have been really hard. Maybe Evangeline even saw it as a curse. Still keeping a tiny smile on her face the entire time, the last thing she wanted to do was make the conversation any sadder.

As Evangeline finished her mini explanation, Kiyana was quickly to counteract everything she had said. "Well I'm sorry for you having to see all of that, it must have been horrible. But please don't be sorry." She added on, as that was the only sad thing she was going to say about it. "But, I don't see why anyone would turn away from you, or only want to be around you for a few years, as a friend." She didn't see the problem with being fiends with an immortal person. Sure, it could be heartbreaking when Kiyana would would die, but that was a long ways away. Smiling brighter at the girl, she knew that she deserved to be happy, even if it was only for Kiyana's comparably short life. "I'll stick with you though, if you want me to that is." She added on. "I mean, I have a lot of years ahead of me and I don't plan on dying or leaving anytime soon."

It seemed to Evangeline that Kiyana was indeed a great listener. Maybe that's what Evangeline needed all along someone that would listen to and understand her. In the minutes that she had known Kiyana, Kiyana had done just that. How had she opened up to someone she had only just met that easily, it wasn't like Evangeline, but she found that she really didn't care. She felt as if she could really trust this girl she had just met.

Evangeline listened to Kiyana as she told her not to be sorry for her "mopiness", and as she started to say she didn't understand why people would leave her because she's immortal. That wasn't the case though it was Evangeline herself was the one who left, because it was hard for her to bare. "You see, it's not like that. It's not them who left Kiyana... it was me who left." This time Evangeline didn't have a smile on her face at all, but her lips were in a straight line.

She looked up to see Kiyana smiling brightly at her and saying she would stick with her, because she had tons of years left and it made Evangeline give a small giggle. "I would like that.'' Evangeline threw one of her bright smiles back. Evangeline looked around, as cold as it was they should probably go inside somewhere to talk, if that's what Kiyana wanted. "Do you have any where particular you like to go when it's this cold?"

She listened carefully now, as it seemed that the girl's emotions and expressions were shifting around. Once she started to talk though, her own smile dimmed down a bit. She would leave her friends? It made sense though, because she didn't want anyone to hurt, for anyone to feel as if their time with her meant nothing considering she would never be able to do things that all other normal humans did. She wanted to talk about that to her, to tel her she understood and for what reason she did, but she waited patiently for her to be completely finished. Smiling brightly once again as she said that she would indeed want her around, her mood changed drastically. She then put on her thinking face as she thought of areas that she liked to go to.

"Well firstly, I get why you left your friends, I really do. Don't worry about hurting me though, if you ever do decide to leave. Secondly, I'm glad that you do want me around, as I was a bit nervous that you would say no. And thirdly, hmm, well I usually just stay in my dorm when it's super cold outside, surrounded by blankets and pillows." She giggled lightly, but she knew that it would most likely not work for two people. "We could go get something to eat in the cafeteria? There are a lot of places to go."

Evangeline was indeed a "teeter totter of emotions". She could go from being sad to happy just like that, it was a normal thing for her for the past few decades. She needed a new normal, because she found her extended life hard to enjoy anymore. She pushed that thought to the side, she need to be happier for her new friend, she didn't want her to see her moping around as she almost always did.

She listened as Kiyana said she could understand why she left her friends, and told her not to worry about hurting her feelings if she ever decided to leave. Would it have been this easy if she had told anyone else. No, they would have thought she was crazy. Evangeline listened to Kiyana say she was nervous that she wouldn't want her around? Why was she nervous? Evangeline should have been the nervous one. She laughed along with her when she said usually she went to her dorm room and surrounded herself with blankets and pillows, sounds like something Evangeline did often. Then Kiyana offered to go get something to eat. "That sounds like a great idea, I'm actually starving." She had skipped breakfast, so food sounded really appealing right now. Evangeline stood up, and offered Kiyana a hand and a small smile.

Nodding at the girl's wanting to eat, she got to her knees slowly as it seemed the girl had already gotten up. Taking her hand and lifting herself up fulling, she flashed the girl a warm smile before letting go of her hand, as she most likely didn't want to hold onto it. "Thanks." She said with a light nod to the girl. "Follow me!" She giggled softly before skipping in the direction of the school. "This is going to be fun!" For some reason, this girl had made her overly excited to eat food.

Evangeline found Kiyana really interesting , when she helped her up she heard her say thanks and Evangeline said a quiet "You're welcome." back. She followed after the girl after gathering up her stuff and blanket quickly, rolling it up and put it in her bag. Kiyana made Evangeline laugh to herself, her enthusiasm was contagious, and she was thankful for it. This was indeed a change , a good change.
