It Was Just Another Day, Right?

Evangeline wasn't sure what she wanted to do today. She hadn't been on the island long at all, and she felt more alone than ever. She decided going to the courtyard would be a good idea, afterall it was typically a good place to meet people, not that she would.

She decided since it was cold it would be a good day to wear a purple sweater that went about mid-thigh, black leggings, and black boots. She had decided to wear her curly golden hair down. She grabbed a journal, and some pens and threw them quickly into her bag, a small blanket and made her way to the court yard. It was a writing kind of day, she was full of inspiration.

When Evangeline arrived the courtyard didn't have many people, as she expected it would, it disappointed her in a way. She needed someone to talk to, but at the same time maybe it was better this way? Afterall, she wasn't sure how long she would stay. But with the island being special and all she wouldn't have to hide her immortality like she would somewhere else.

She found a tree that would be nice to write under, she made her way there spread her blanket and layed down on her stomach. Before pulling out her notebook she propped herself up on her elbows and looked around the court yard. She saw that there were a group of girls socializing, a few guys kicking around a ball, and a few others scattered around the courtyard, there wasn't as much going on as she figured.

Evangeline didn't even attend school here, she just liked to come here to know she wasn't exactly alone. She was done with school a long time ago, but occasionally when she wanted to learn something knew she would join again.

She pulled her notebook and a pen out and began to scribble away, seemed to her she wouldn't be doing any talking today.

Lifting her arms above her head, Kiyana stretched out as she made a rather loud groan. Rolling her shoulders back, she then quickly did up her aqua and black checkered coat, before readjusting her dark blue toque on her head, making sure it was as centered as possible. "Stupid thing." She remarked her herself as she pushed her two newly braided clumps of dark brown hair behind her, in hopes of it helping to make sure her toque went over her ears. She hated cold ears, and considering she thought it was a good idea to go outside, she didn't want not having her ears covered to ruin it. Sighing lightly as she was satisfied with the position, she then quickly put on her dark blue gloves before pushing the doors to the courtyard open.

A chill of wonder and coldness flowed through her as she took the first few steps into the courtyard. It looked like a ghost town, considering there were little to no people out. "Where is everyone?" She questioned to herself quietly, as she continued forward. There were a few boys kicking around a ball, which didn't interest her since she had poor coordination. Looking around again, she noticed a group of girls that were giggling quite loudly, which made Kiyana not want to go in their direction. There was also a single girl, that seemed to be writing fortuitously on a notepad. "Interesting." She said under her breath as she began to walk towards the girl. As she stopped, being a few feet away from the girl, she leaned herself forward before putting a light smile on her face. "Hello, what are you doing out here all alone?" She asked politely as she tilted her head to the left slightly. She was rather low to the ground, which made Kiyana wonder as to way she would choose the ground over a bench. "May I join you, on your little blanket thingy?"

Evangeline wasn't exactly the person to call a "hopeless romantic" but she loved the idea of falling in love, and hated it all the same. She could never be in a normal relationship again. But most of what she wrote about was some sort of love story nonetheless. She had journals and journals of love stories, which in all honestly she should probably get rid of, but everytime she tried there was some small attachment there and she just couldn't.

She was scribbling down quickly into her notebook and of course it was another love story. They all ended the same though, with some sort of happy ending. Like the one Evangeline would most likely never have.

Evangeline then became distracted by approaching footsteps and then heard a feminine voice talk to her, asking why she was alone, and if she could join her on her blanket. She wanted to join her? Over the girls near the bench who seemed so much more joyful? They were rather loud and squeaky though. Evangeline made room for the girl.

"Sure, I would love some company. I was really only alone because in all honesty I haven't really made any friends since coming here." Evangeline paused looking at the girl, she looked roughly her age, with rather dark hair. "I'm Evangeline, but you could call me Lina. If you like."

Smiling brightly as she saw the girl look up at her and move slightly to the side, it seemed that she did in fact want company. Nodding lightly, she quickly brushed off her dark blue jeans and coat while she listened to the girls response. "No friends huh? I really don't have many either, none that I can call to hang out at the moment." The only real friend she had was Merana, but she had been busy the last few weeks that she wanted to hang out wit her. That was fine though, she knew that most people were busy with other things.

"Well I'm happy to join you then!" Kiyana said enthusiastically. She then preceded to take the girls offer and laid down beside the girl, looking at her as she introduced herself. "I love that name, it's very pretty." She nodded to her lightly, as it was an odd and old sounding name, but nonetheless she liked it. "Well I'm Kiyana, nice to meet you." She was thinking of extending a hand out for the girl to shake, but since she had now propped herself up with her elbows, to would increase the chance of her to fall over. Looking away form the girl and down to the notepad, she didn't much look at what she was doing, but was interested. "Hmm?" She said quietly before looking back up at Evangeline. "Whatcha doing there?"

Evangeline listened as the girl said that she didn't have many friends either. Maybe they could be friends? She really had no friends at all. She had only talked to a few people here and there, but in all honesty none of the people had quite grabbed her attention.

She looked to the girl sitting beside her again, and she seemed like a rather enthusiastic girl. Lately she hadn't been around anyone at all who seemed even remotely happy. She complimented her, name and introduced herself as Kiyana.

"What a lovely name yourself," Evangeline threw one of her dazzingly smiles to her. Sometimes Evangeline still talked as if she were from another time (which she was) but she knew a lot of the time people didn't catch it. "It's very nice to meet you as well."

Evangeline then noticed Kiyana looking at her notepad, she knew it wasn't to be nosy, just curious was all. Evangeline's own thoughts were answered with Kiyana wondering what she was doing.

"Oh this?" Evangeline gave a small quiet giggle. "This is just a story I'm writing, they all end up being the same in the end. Happy. Something it seems as if I'll never be."

Blinking at the girl at smiling a bit as she complimented her name, it wasn't everyday that people liked her name. Most thought of it was stupid or weird, which wasn't true. She would rather have a unique name then one that was bland or overused. This girl seemed so nice and, gentle, compared to some of the people she had met earlier in her experiences on the island. Gasping a bit as the girl finished talking for a fourth time, she looked at her with a confused look. "What do you mean?" She blinked at her rapidly, unsure of why the girl would say such a thing. "Don't say that, it isn't true." She tried to cheer her up with some reassuring words, but it seemed that the girl needed more. "Look I know we just met, but if you'll accept it, I'll do everything in my power to make sure that you are happy, or that you have a happy ending." Looking away from her the second she finished, she thought of how stupid what she had just said must have sounded. "Sorry that was... Sorry."

Evangeline wasn't sure whether she should tell her about the whole immortal thing. She felt as if she could trust Kiyana, even though she just met her, she just was worried about how she would act. Afterall, it's not everyday you meet someone who's lived as long as she had.

She was almost shocked when Kiyana had said what she said wasn't true, but even more shocked at what she said next and she was almost sure it showed on her face. But as soon as it appeared she made a straight face. It was one of the nicest things anyone had ever said to her. Kiyana had apologized for what she said, but why?

"Don't apologize, that was really nice actually." Evangeline gave her a reassuring smile. "I see you genuinely do care. I just don't want to scare you away is all. It's not very often I meet someone like you."

Looking back up slowly at the girl as she told her not to apologize, she was shocked by her kind heart, or maybe just understanding of why Kiyana had said what she had. Listening carefully, she tilted er head to the side in confusion as she said 'someone like her'. That wasn't the only thing that caught her attention though, as the girl in a way complimented her. She then breathed in calmly, not wanting to seem like she couldn't control herself when she was complimented, or when someone was talking to her. "Someone like me? What do you mean by that?" She questioned the girl. "And scare me off? There would be nothing that would scare me off." As she thought about it, she wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing.

Evangeline could tell the Kiyana was shocked, but Evangeline didn't give away that she knew. She turned to look at her again as she listened to her talk. She wanted to know what she meant when she said it's not very often that Evangeline met someone like her, and that there wouldn't be anything she could say that would scare her off. How could she be so sure?

Evangeline gave her another small smile. She didn't even know how to begin something like this? How could she? She didn't want to give Kiyana any ideas, after all immortality was forever.

"I meant someone like you, because you seem so caring, and all around wonderful." Evangeline paused looking back to the girl. "There's not many people like you where I come from. They all are so rude, and all around not good people. But you are kindhearted it seems."

Evangeline wasn't sure how to continue. "I know this because well, I've been around a really long time, is all." There was good things about being around this long, but there were also some bad things. But she couldn't get herself to tell Kiyana she was immortal, but maybe that would help her figure it out?

Smiling lightly as she kicked her legs back and forth listening to the girl, she giggled lightly as she once again complimented her. She would have never thought that she would be anything that this girl was saying she was, but at the same time it was because she was more surprised about hearing it from someone else besides herself. Her legs stopped moving as the girl finished, taking in the response she had given her. What was that supposed to mean? "Thank you, I appreciate that." She nodded to her quickly before continuing. "Like a time traveler? Or maybe like a Demi God? Or are you just immortal?" She asked quickly a few seconds after she had finished. "Did I get any of that right?"
