Tomo sat on a hospital bed and nursed her head that was aching like there was a fucking war going on in there. The doctors said they'd put her under and stitched her up. It took almost 25 stitches, for all 10 holes on her head. They'd said when Tomo had gotten them the thing that had made them had reached her skull. There were small knicks on its surface. The monster's claws really did their job, huh.
It must've been a miracle the wounds hadn't opened earlier. But suppose Tomo scratching her head from frustration had finally done it. So fucking ironic, since it had almost gotten Shiro to give a shit. But Tomo didn't need no pity. She needed at least Shiro and Tadashi to somehow get along, to be brothers. She didn't matter, Shiro could hate her all he wanted.
Tomo leaned back, really uncomfortable in the hospital setting. Not that she had a phobia or something, Tomo just didn't have nice memories of these kinda places. Tomo slowly touched her side, where there was a scar from a nail bat. That fight had been the first one she had almost died in. It wasn't the last.
Tomo gritted her teeth and pushed the memories back. Not now, not when she had so many problems in the now. Tomo still somehow needed to explain the holes in her head. The doctors had left her alone for now but they needed to hear something convincing. Because Tomo was not gonna tell them she had done them herself. The word could slip out and with the rumour spreading around about Tadashi and Shiro another one about their sister being a mental case wouldn't help. Tomo supressed the urge to scratch her bandaged up head and started thinking about possible reasons for her wounds, drifting into her own world.

Shiro tapped his foot as he looked a little ways down the hall at the hospital room, he wasn't completely sure why he came. He supposed he wanted to check on Tomo, he didn't really know her or Tadashi really, they weren't raised together. That said, he didn't like seeing people hurt, he'd made sure to see her off when she left for the hospital, so he'd check on her.

Tapping his foot a few more times, he'd take a breath and head toward the room. He was a bit nervous, he wasn't sure what to expect, what would happen, what he'd say, what Tomo would say. Family was a weird thing for him, he knew his memories of the last person he called family wasn't right, but he knew they'd done things, he wasn't sure he could ever call someone family again.

Knocking on the door, he'd slowly open it and slip inside, "uh....hey there," he'd say, uncertain what would be the best greeting. "You uh....feeling ok?" he didn't know what had caused her head injury, but it'd seem bad.

Tomo didn't hear the knock or Shiro comig inside. She was too concentrated on pondering if a freak tree climbing accident was too hard to believe.
When Shiro spoke Tomo jumped a bit and whipped her head to look at him. That caused her vision to blur and head to thump and Tomo grimaced. She squinted at Shiro, just seeing someone with about Tadashi's height and white hair.
"Bro?"
Tomo blinked and her vision cleared. And so did her mind when she saw who had come in.
"Oh, it's you."
Tomo's tone wasn't rude, just kinda surprised and...a bit tired. She adjusted her position so she leaned back a bit and then Tomo planted her eyes on Shiro.
"Oh well, ya know, just chillin' with more stitches on my head than I can count right now 'cos my head fuckin' hurts. How ya think I'm feelin'?"
Tomo said with more exhaustion than sarcasm. She wasn't even trying. Tomo sighed and rubbed her eyes a bit.
"Listen, Shiro, ya here to tell me an' Tadashi to get outta yer life? 'Cos I can tell ya from the get go, ain't happenin'"

Shiro would sigh just a bit, he didn't want to argue with her, especially not here, not with her in a hospital bed with stitches in her head. "We'll talk about that later," he'd took a seat, "no, I came to check on you, make sure you were ok." He hated hospitals, something about medical stuff made him nervous.

"They give you something to help the pain at least?" he'd ask, not really sure what to say, what to talk about. "Uh....anything I can get you? Some water?" he honestly wasn't really sure why came, maybe he felt a bit responsible for her getting hurt even though he didn't know how that happened.

He'd look her over a bit, they did look at each other, white hair and gold eyes. "How'd you hurt your head?" he finally asked, wanting to know how it happened.

Tomo observed Shiro as he sat down, trying to figure out what his deal was. He said he had just wanted to see if she was okay but that only made Tomo wonder why he would care.
Tomo did realize she was maybe too harsh on Shiro. After all, he had had a rough life, Tomo could see it. Tomo would've argued he wasn't the only one but she didn't wallow in self-pity like a pansy. So Tomo huffed a bit and crossed her arms.
"Well, thanks for seein' me, I guess. But ya really should make up with Tadashi before doin' anythin' bout me."

Tomo pointed to an IV drip attached to her arm when Shiro asked his question.
"I gotta pump this is if it hurts too much. I ain't doin' it though, don' need it."
Tomo wasn't only proud but afraid of losing control as well. If the meds made her feel sleepy or woozy she wasn't completely on top and then the monster...
Tomo stopped herself and shook her head slightly. The monster wouldn't come out, not here.
"I'm good Shiro, don' need anythin'"

Shiro dropped the question Tomo had been afraid of and she clenched the sheets on the bed. She hadn't figured out a good excuse yet. Tomo would have to wing it.
"Got into a fight with this real fat and juicy crow but it got nasty claws. The wounds were bigger than I thought in human form."

"I'll talk with Tadashi later," he wasn't really sure how that was going to go, he wasn't even sure how to approach the subject with him, but he'd deal with that when the time came.

He looked over at the medication drip, he'd never had to go to the hospital, or even a doctor, his mom had always taken care of his medical stuff with her magic. "Right...well that's good, just try not to tear your stitches," he'd say, looking back to her, the crazy sister he hadn't really remembered having, yet here he was visiting her.

"A crow huh?" he scratched the back of his head, he suspected what had truly happened to her head. "Big crow must have been sneaky, getting into the community center without anyone noticing," partial shifting, their werecat forms were nasty, "must have had a sharp beak, if I didn't know any better I'd say your head got hit with some claws." He'd tilt his head looking at her, he couldn't help but care, he cared about most people to an extent, he didn't like seeing people hurt.

Tomo squinted a bit and pointed at Tadashi.
"Ya better. Or I'm lockin' ya two in a room together an' not lettin' ya out before ya got your shit straight. I ain't about to have my two sibs fightin' over somethin' as useless as bein' gender fluid."
Tomo said and sighed a bit. There were huge bags under her eyes.
Tomo didn't care about anything like gender or sexuality or race, because she had no right to judge anyone. And she sure as hell wasn't judging Shiro for something he couldn't control.

Tomo groaned and rolled her eyes, which hurt. But she sure as hell wasn't showing it.
"I know. I ain't some brat, I've had stitches before. Plenty of stitches."
Tomo briefly touched her side again, looking down briefly. But she shook it off, she shouldn't be thinking anything useless now.

Tomo squint glared at Shiro, they both knew she wasn't fooling him.
"Har har, so funny. Ya know fucking well ya know better. But what's it to ya anyway? Yeah, your crazy sister basically split her own head open 'cos she ain't got control over her anger. Ya must feel smug as hell, huh? Well, fuck you. I don't need your pity or for ya to patronize me. I know full well I'm a mental case. Don't need anyone to point it out, since I live that hell every day."
Halfway through this ramble Tomo had turned away and was now just talking faster and faster and staring at her lap, clutching her head. Her claws were in danger of popping out again and tearing the stitches righg off again.

He'd sigh and lean back, "look, I don't like seeing people hurt," he'd rub the back of his head, "it's why I wanted to come check out you." This was going poorly, he hadn't been sure what to expect from this visit, if it'd accomplish anything or if it'd bust be a quick in and out thing.

"I know I can be an ass and that we haven't gotten along...and I'm sorry for that," he'd take a breath and looked at her, "I don't hate you...you or Tadashi." He'd rub the temples of his head, "so...I came up here because I wanted to try and be friends."

Shiro wasn't sure how he felt about having siblings, he felt so conflicted about it all, but he'd try to make this work the only way he could. "So yeah...me, you, Tadashi, we can be friends. I...I'd maybe like that."

Tomo observed Shiro, not sure if she should be happy or annoyed. On the other hand it was nice of him to come check on her, it was decent as a person. But at the same time she wanted to insist she didn't need checking. Or that...she wasn't supposed to be just "people" to Shiro. But Tomo had no right to say that. So she just squinted at him a bit and humphed.
"I guess I should say thanks then. But I don' get how ya got energy to worry 'bout someone like me."
Tomo moved her legs to sit crosslegged and leaned her chin on her palm.

Tomo listened to Shiro and once again wasn't sure if she should be happy or annoyed. It was nice that Shiro wanted to be at least friends. But somehow...Tomo didn't want to leave it just at that. At least not between Shiro and Tadashi. But for now she sighed a bit and waved her hand lazily.
"I'm the pain in the ass in this trio, I wouldn't let ya claim that title in the first place. But if ya think ya can bear bein' friends with me you're welcome to try."
Tomo grinned slightly, some of her usual mischievousness returning.

Shiro would sigh in relief, the conversation wasn't turning out as bad as he'd worried it would. "Yeah, friends," he'd give her a small smile, hoping things would improve between them, he didn't want them arguing all the time.

"So....yeah, you get better," he'd set his bag in his lap, "I know Tadashi is probably worried sick, they seem like a worrier." Opening his bag he'd reach in, "hopefully you get out soon, I know you'll probably go stir crazy sitting in here for long."

He'd pull a large bag of candy from his bag, flashing a smile at Tomo and tossing it to her. "I hear hospital food is gross, so I thought I'd bring you a little something," someone had suggested flowers, but he got the feeling she'd appreciate candy a bit more.
