Zora glanced again at Rory, she completely agreed with her. It was not his call to make who cared and who didn't care for him.

When Broen looked at her and told her his powers were gone, Zora was not overly surprised, she knew something was up and that he had been affected somehow by the entity.

"Don't worry about that for now," she told Broen firmly, but gently, "We can talk about it later, alright? Right now, I need you just to get better, the rest will sort itself out. Trust me on that, okay?" Zora said as she sat at the end of the bed again, careful not to sit on his feet or anything.

Jude stepped in from outside not long after the nurse had left, with Angelo lurking just behind him. They made an awkward pair, with Jude's eyes red and puffy (even if he'd managed to stop crying), and Angelo looking tired but otherwise intact. Angelo looked fairly relieved when he spotted Broen in the bed, but Jude fought the urge to go steal the seat beside the bed.

"Well, good to see the shot was less lethal than I thought," Angelo said. "You never know how that stuff will interact."

Jude cringed, quickly scrubbing at his face in an attempt to make himself look more presentable.

"Everything okay in here though?" Jude asked, glancing towards the IVs.

"I'm alive. That's good enough I guess." Broen said to the people being concerned about him. It was still foreign. And part of him didn't want to trust it. But another part of him desperately did, and it was currently winning out.

He stopped and looked at Kaiju. "Nigga I mean gone. Up and bounced like my fuckin old man wished he could have."

He paused and thought back, shuddering. "I think the Headmaster... confiscated them? When it knew it was dying. Fuckin' bitch-ass piece of shit..."

Rory really would have liked to not laughed when Broen went 8-mile on them, but it was such a fucking relief that she didn't even have a chance to hold in a rather inappropriately loud guffaw.

She released his hand so she could cup both of hers over her mouth and get control of herself again. She shook her head, gasping something along the lines of 'my god he's still white as mayonnaise' directed at Kaiju.

She breathed out, shoulders relaxing for the first time since she'd gotten here.

"Aight damn chill... we're in a fuckin hospital. Shit."

He lost his powers because he killed the headmaster. Wait what? Part of him really just wanted to just ask the questions, but the mood was a little lighter. He didn't want to kill it.

"Well we'll find you some toxic waste to roll around in, man... something. We still gotchu fam."

When Jude came back with Officer Genovese, Angelo, in tow Zora just nodded at his question. Yes, everything, strangely enough, seemed okay - at least for now. She didn't trust that Broen would be one hundred percent anytime soon, but he seemed somewhat better like his emotions were a little less frail than they were an hour ago.

Glancing at Broen when he mentioned the headmaster, Zora just shook her head at this. She knew she would probably keep seeing that thing whenever she closed her eyes since she had never faced evil before and it still bothered her - it was still too recent. She could only guess how Broen had felt channelling him.

"Toxic waste, huh?" Zora laughed as she glanced at Travis and smiled. "Sounds fun."

Jude cracked up when Broen went all Broen. It was a relief. It meant he was still him--something that Jude had been genuinely worried about. He'd been so different, but that was the old Broen, the Broen who couldn't miss an opportunity to shit on his father.

Angelo, though, was blatantly out of the loop.

"Hold on," Angelo said. "That thing was the headmaster? The... whatever, evil school thing?" He made a pointed look at Jude, who nodded in confirmation.

"So much for my idea," Angelo muttered under his breath, clapping Jude on the shoulder.

That said, Angelo did have things he needed to say, so he cleared his throat.

"Alright. I'm off duty for two weeks. So, I'll be around. Jude's discharged, and I've got this for you."

Angelo hefted the paper bag up, gesturing to Broen before stepping forward, dropping it on the stand beside the bed.

"Change of clothes for you. Not going to fit perfectly, but close enough."

Broen looked at the clothes and glanced up at Angelo. He made a face, not quite a grimace but close enough. "I don't... yeah. Thanks."

"And why the fuck would I do that, Kaiju? So I could be scaly bait like you?" He laughed at that, leaning back onto the pillow that remained on the bed.

"I'm not staying here past tonight. I can't. I'll go crazy in here by myself. When I get out..." He looked at Zora, then Rory, then the rest of them. "I dunno. I'll figure it out."

Rory wasn't sure Officer Genovese would offer up his home to Broen, but it seemed like a good bet he would. She looked at Broen, then Officer Genovese.

Politeness dictated that Rory not offer. Not yet, but if Officer Genovese wouldn't offer Rory would figure something out. She had to. This was one of her people. Fuck. Why were options so limited?

"Well," Rory said slowly, still staring at Genovese even if she was addressing Broen. "You're not going to be in here alone tonight. I'll stay if you want. You might be more comfortable with Travis." She looked at Travis next. "You fine with staying or do you have somewhere to be?"

Not exactly confident, but Rory was full team leader mode. Her lack of confidence had never slowed her down or shown before, so why would it now?

"I mean I got tomorrow off so I can hang out. Could just do it in shifts," Travis suggested. He'd wrapped his tail around his feet to make room for everyone. That said, he agreed with Rory's decision. Someone should stay with him for at least most of the night.

"But I'm also fucking hungry, and you can't tell me you're not. So Imma grab some non-hospital food from somewhere."
