Jude was not the person on the team who dealt with people who were crying. Generally speaking, he was the member of the team who was crying. He was the one who everyone else patted on the back and told it was going to be okay, and that was all he could do there. Standing up, moving over to the side of Broen's bed and reaching out to try and be a comforting presence. Laying a hand on his shoulder. Something.

He wasn't actually expecting to make it that far.

"And if you hadn't, we'd all be dead anyway."

Rory looked for the time, but couldn't find it. It had to have been at least ten minutes by now, right? She squeezed Zora a little. "We could, uh, head down to the cafeteria. Go to the bathroom. There isn't a lot of private places in a hospital. Shit."

She looked down the corridor. People were too busy to notice them. "Yeah. You're going to feel like shit for awhile. Probably a long while. That doesn't go away, but you can't sit and think on it. Not forever. You have to give yourself a break.

"Thinking about it. There wasn't a lot you could do, was there? If people want to hurt you, they're going to do that. So you hired some help. That was smart. And Jude? Jude has always been a hero. It's kind of what we did.

"But I get it. So... we're going to sit here for a few moments and then we're going to go in there."



Five minutes later, Rory was reopening the door to the hospital, Zora right behind her. She did so slowly, giving some time to the two inside to get... whatever. Comfortable. She didn't fucking know.

Once inside, she closed the door behind Zora.

Broen recoiled when Jude touched him. "Please don't... I need... I know. I know, I just can't. Jude I fucking hate this. Feeling like this."

He was trembling, trying his best to stop from crying so he could at least talk. "I've fucked myself over and I can't unfuck it for once. You see it don't you? They're fuckin gone. I'm..." Christ, he didn't want to say it. Broen wasn't anything without his powers.

Jude stopped, withdrawing. A part of him wanted to perservere anyway, but Broen... well, Broen had said no. He wasn't comfortable. He probably needed to be left alone to sort himself out, only Jude absolutely didn't want to leave him alone. That was... that was bad news. Bad, unhealthy thoughts swirling back and forth while alone in a hospital room.

He'd been there.

So he sat back down and gave Broen space, letting himself get things together.

It wasn't until a few minutes later that the door clicked open, and Jude flicked his eyes over. Rory coming back?

Zora let Rory talk convince her that it was time to see Broen that she couldn't sit out in the hall all day feeling bad or guilty for what had happened. Taking another deep breath to steady herself, Zora got to her feet and followed Rory, very slowly into the hospital room. She was very unsure what she would find, she didn't know if Broen was okay, how he was even. All she knew was that Rory had told her not to crowd him.

Entering the room, she could feel Rory behind her, and felt very put on the spot, her eyes went first to Jude, who looked decidedly uncomfortable as her gaze then went to Broen in the hospital bed. Staring at him, the first thing she noticed is that he had been crying, and this actually amazed her, he looked upset. She had never seen him like this before and wasn't sure how to react at first.

"I came to see how you were doing?" Zora said finally as she walked up to the foot of the bed, a slightly worried look crossing her features as she looked at Broen.

Broen flinched a bit as the door opened, glancing over to see that of course it was Zora. He felt his stomach flip in on itself. And oh boy was he ready to cry again.
"Fuck"

He looked at the other people in the room, feeling even worse when he saw what he could only assume was something like concern on all their faces. He wiped his eyes, not entirely sure if he was finished crying yet and looked at Zora.

"Sorry boss. I, uh. I fucked up big time."

Rory sat at the chair near Broen's bedside. She shook her head. "No, you really didn't, Broen. You managed to save your boss. That was your job and she's fine."

Zora shook her head, and gazed steadily at Broen, not expecting that he'd be blaming himself for things, "No, you didn't. You did not fuck up," she said gently as she walked over and sat at the foot of his bed. "You saved me, us... " Zora said as she glanced at Jude and then back at Broen softly,

"I am here because I was concerned about you. What you did to yourself, I felt it, I needed to know you were okay... " she told him truthfully.

Broen sat there for a long while, considering things. He didn't know how many minutes passed while he mulled over Zora's words. "No. I'm not okay. I lost all my powers... all of them. But I-"

He looked up at Zora and then at.the other two. "I need to confess something. Jude, Rory. Can you guys... uh. Just go out for a minute?"

"This is a shit show," she said to Jude once they were safely out in the hallway.
