Jae made the long trek back to the dorms from the ocean. Dressed in clean clothes, a towel draped over his hair and his swimming bag with his wet clothes thrown over his shoulder. Though thankful school and town were only a step away, he still had to walk through town to the ocean, then back. Rinse and repeat every other night. His new dorm mates would ask where he goes, and Jae would brush it off with the excuse of drama club or to study. They readily believed in studying lie. The teen looked up at the lights of the dorm building and felt a profound sense of longing. Not for the dorms, but for his aunt's small home on the ocean front. With it, came the realization that he didn't want to go back to his dorm room.
He entered the student lounge, and searched through his phone contacts. Jae hoped that maybe someone wouldn't mind if he could come over and visit, and pretend that he wasn't avoiding his own room. The teen paused over Eric's number. Eric who flirted and looked at Jae like someone to be admired. Though Jae had other guy friends, none of them made him blush like Eric did. Sometimes Jae caught himself thinking what it would be like wrapped in the Eric's arms. Like right now, and Jae's fingers moved almost of their own accord. He sent a short text asking if Eric was free and if he could join him in his dorm. Then, before he could think too much on that, Jae headed upstairs.
Eric's response came as Jae got to his floor. Jae didn't run to the door, but he did rush. There, Jae sent a second text to say he was outside the door and waited. When Eric finally appeared warmth spread through Jae. "Hey," He said and smiled. Then remembered he probably looked strange in his after swimming clothes and a damp towel. "Ah, I just finished a swim in the ocean." Jae explained, a little sheepish. He smelled of salt and sand, and regretted the fact he didn't think to shower off before coming over. "Can I still come in?"
