"Wait! That's the wro-"

Too late.

—-

An unfortunate situation, this. Indeed, for one to walk upon the territory of the female when one was, in fact, male, was simply a shout out loud begging for some sort of butt kicking. But see, it wasn't his fault, exactly. It simply happened that way. The plan was for him to appear in a nearby forest and walk up to the building claiming to be a new student.

Was the plan.

The so-called "plan" didn't exactly turn out the way he had expected it to. And considering how things never turned out the way he didn't expect them to, you could just imagine his surprise when he found himself inside some sort of room instead of outside in a forest. To make the situation that much more unfortunate, he wasn't in just any room. It was a girl's room.

His eyes took a few moments to adjust. After all, he had warped into the Plane of Existence and into a human body all within the span of a few seconds. Usually, he would warp in and create the human form after his body recovered from the transport. This sudden blow of change really did a number on him, and he actually fell over - barely catching himself with his hands - due to the severity of it all. Taking the form of a human was incredibly different than what he was used to. It felt... binding. He had to admit that, even though he was technically fearless, an ounce of anxiety overtook him when not only did he go through a warp directly into a binding human form but he also did so while manifesting in a place other than he had intended.

Whatever poor unfortunate soul managed to suddenly have a very bright light fill their room only to leave behind some teenage boy who fell over gasping for air would probably find themselves in an incredibly awkward situation.

Great, he thought. He had just arrived and already he had likely completely blown his cover. He needed to come up with a reason for appearing out of a sudden bright light that made sense in a mortal realm. Luckily this realm was well known for some people being gifted with supernatural abilities.

Normally, he was more than quick enough to catch a simple bar of soap thrown at him. But in his current state, the bar beamed him right off the side of the head, causing him to fall over in a gasp. He rolled over onto his back and coughed a few times, his blurry and shaky vision finally beginning to recover. What just happened? He looked to his side to see the bar of soap that had been thrown at him. He could barely remember a girl's voice crying out.

"Oh dear.." He sighed.

He could feel her anger and embarrassment from where he lay. Now what was he going to do? He didn't need the school to find what he was looking for, but he figured it would make a good base of operations while he looked. And of course, anything strange would probably be attracted to the school. And it also made a good excuse if he let something slip. But now, he had an issue to deal with. His mind had come up with several possibilities already before the girl had opened the bathroom door again. He could jump out a window. He wasn't sure what the height was, though. It was likely his body would survive the fall, but taking a large amount of damage - such as broken bones - would not put him in a good spot. Also, the poor girl shouldn't have to suffer with a broken window and fear of intruders just because of this unfortunate situation.

He could apparate out of the room. But that was a very bad idea because he had to leave his human form to do so, and such an act of Divinity would surely alert "them". It was possible that, if he vanished before she returned, she would simply think that she was hallucinating. But he didn't want to take that chance, especially considering leaving his human form wasn't a very good idea.

He could claim to be her new roommate. With asthma? Maybe he had an asthma attack when he came in. He didn't have an inhaler though. Maybe he lost it, and that was why he had the attack in the first place. It was unlikely they allowed boy/girl dorms, however. Not like that other world where... well, that was irrelevant. He also didn't have a room key, which a roommate would probably have.

Several more possibilities went through his head at the time, but as soon as she opened that door he had made his choice. He needed to just come clean. He would claim that he had a teleportation power, and his lack of experience caused him to appear in her room on accident. Seamed feasible, right? It was also technically not a lie. Also, he would beg forgiveness. If she didn't kill him first and completely ruin his objective before he had even started.

At this point she had squatted down next to him and asked him a question. He looked up at her from his position on the floor and gave a half-smile. "Good evening." He started, with a sincere voice. There was a red mark on his head where the soap hit him, but he didn't seem to notice. "I sincerely apologize for my actions, miss, but it would appear I have erred." He frowned. "You see, I have the ability to shift my location at will and in trying to warp to the kitchen for a midnight snack I... well, you know the rest. I assure you it was not intentional.."

He was able to discern that most of her fear had dissipated, but he knew he still needed to tread lightly here. After all, she was under the assumption that he was able to teleport. Which wasn't actually something he could do. At least not in his current state. He knew indubitably that this was something that would be brought up later, and he would need a reason for not doing so. But for now, he would go with the flow and deal with the situation as it was required.

"I assure you, it is quite alright, m'lady." He rolled over away from her before sitting up. He felt slightly dizzy as he did so but it wore off quickly. "Understandable considering the situation. I do apologize profusely for invading your space, however. I would understand if you felt the need to alert some sort of authority concerning the matter, although I would ask that you don't. Of course, I am certainly in no position to make such demands and would most definitely not blame you if you did so."

He crossed his arms and closed his eyes as if in thought. What would he do if he got caught? Simply accepting punishment would typically be the easiest way out of it. However, he was not yet technically a student here and he isn't sure how well this situation would go over. He may find himself stuck outside of the premises after all. He didn't like the idea of some girl now being afraid of intruders due to his shenanigans, either. It was true that she seemed much more at ease now, and it was very possible she had no plans whatsoever of getting him into trouble, so maybe his concerns were unfounded. Maybe he could get her to tell him about the school instead. It could be a perfect opportunity! It was at this point - and bear in mind, it has been less than half a second since he had finished speaking - that he realized that he hadn't yet introduced himself.

"Oh!" He said with a jump. "I nearly forgot!" He stood now, although he stumbled a bit in doing so, obviously not being fully recovered quite yet. "My name is Alistair Fordren, a pleasure to meet you, m'lady." He bowed politely, but again nearly fell over in doing so.

He seemed much better now, finally standing up straight without difficulty. He started stretching practically every muscle in his body. They were rather stiff, after all. Always were when first created like this. "Oh no, I am perfectly fine, I assure you. The hospitality is much appreciated, however."

He shrugged as she mentioned her name. "Very well, Tara." Both students? Yes, she was correct. He was a student now. Or.. would be. Technically, he was a trespasser right now. He had hoped that the building didn't have any way to detect his intrusion. He had visited places before where their technology (whether magical or otherwise) was able to detect his entrance, even if it was through time-warp. Some of these said buildings were occasionally able to reject his intrusion also, but it wasn't very common, considering the time-warp was rather powerful.

But rather than worry about that, he decided to act more like what he was supposed to be now. The rest would come later. His mind had taken a serious hit from the recent warp/transformation, and resting and getting knowledge of his location would serve him better before officially starting his mission. But how would he now get the information that he requires? He had memorized a layout of the entire structure before his warp, but much of it had been wiped out by his bad "landing". It seemed that his human body was having some trouble recalling information from his spiritual mind.

"Um.." He started. "Actually, I'm new here... To be honest I haven't even checked in or anything. Heheh..." Awkward. But he couldn't just flat out lie like that, that would get him into some trouble sooner or later.

Catch on that he's a weirdo, huh? He had to hold back a laugh at that, as he found her comment rather amusing. Not that it was in any way incorrect, just the opposite in fact. Still, he had to question whether or not letting her help him out was actually a good decision. While he had certainly managed a way out of the awkward situation (somewhat), he now had to keep up his little charade that he had the ability to teleport - which, once again, was something he could technically do, but not in his current state nor with as much freedom as he had implied.

"Hm." He stalled for a moment while she grabbed her hair brush. "Perhaps that is not so good of an idea, after all. Is it not possible they will find out I was here with you?" He wasn't entirely sure how the school was set up, but he knew the girls and the boys were separated. "You could end up in a lot of trouble, no? You may be better off telling me how to get there and I will find my own way." The window possibility came up again. Really, he could probably find his own way outside to the front door and act like this whole situation never happened. She would likely not get into trouble, and he wouldn't have to find a way around the fact that he couldn't actually teleport.

He could also tell that she seemed somewhat tired, and if she would normally be in bed right now he would rather not keep her up for a longer period of time. "Hrm, how far up is your room?" He looked around for a window he could possibly make his escape from.

He was considering her words when he felt the impact of her brush on his back, which caused him to jump a little. "Doh!" Was it common of her to throw stuff at people like this? He reached down to pick up her brush off the floor and turned to her. He realized she had also been correct about being on the third floor, and while he might have found a way to climb down, it was decided that it probably wasn't worth the risk to his body especially if she seemed so upset with that option.

He rubbed his back with his free hand before flipping around her brush in his hand and walked back to her, offering back her brush handle-first. "Very well, we shall do things your way, Tara. Are you ready to leave now or shall I wait outside your room while you prepare?" Apparently he felt no need to argue, even with how she grabbed his attention. He realized that she might think he was trying to escape by the way he offered to wait outside the room, but he still felt he was obligated to offer to do so anyways out of respect. He made sure to look her right in the eyes with a grateful smile so as to affirm that he had no intention whatsoever of running off.

This is right around when his stomach started to growl. Looks like he already needed to feed himself. No matter, it simply assisted his little lie that he had been planning on heading to the cafeteria anyways.

With her comment about his stomach growling he looked down at himself then back up at her with a slightly embarrassed look. Honestly, he felt somewhat rude standing there in her room with his stomach growling. "No, really, that isn't necessary.." He started saying when she offered the food to him, but his stomach growled again and he felt his eyes darken. The reality was that his body was much hungrier than he was even letting on, and he nearly even passed out because of it.

He shook his head to snap himself out of it, before reluctantly grabbing the food she had offered him. "I assure you that I shall find a way to pay you back for your kindness, Tara." He said, beginning to devour the sandwich she had granted him at a rather abnormal speed. If she began to move towards her door, he would instinctively follow her, but he remained focused on the food regardless of whatever look she may or may not give him. In fact, it was likely that the entire sandwich, and a lot of the chips even, would be gone by the time they had even walked out of her door.

And she would still hear his stomach crying out in hunger even at that point.

He didn't even pay attention to what she said, at first. He just followed her to the door while he munched down his food. He couldn't believe how hungry he was starting to feel. It wasn't something he was used to, because beings of his kind typically didn't need to eat. It was a wonderful feeling, an exhilarating feeling. As bound as he felt in this body he felt absolutely wonderful having these sorts of feelings inside of him. He had always enjoyed eating food that others had so graciously prepared for him - after all, even though he didn't technically have to eat, it was still possible for him to and he still did enjoy the taste - but this was the first time he had actually felt like it served a real purpose. It was delightful.

So delightful that he had nearly walked right into her when he moved to follow her. He caught himself just in time, though, as he finished the last bite of the sandwich. Despite how fast he gobbled it down, he was a surprisingly clean eater. There wasn't any crumbs on the floor at all from his little feast. When he realized how spaced out he had become, he looked up to Tara and blinked a few times. "Oh, apologies. It would appear that I had lost my train of thought and completely ignored what you were saying. How rude of me." He stared at her for a few moments as he tried to recall what she had just said to him. "I'm sorry, what was it you needed me to do for you again?"

It would appear that he remembered her words as "I'll make you do something when you're done.".

Clearly he had gotten so infatuated with his meal that he had misunderstood what she had said. He simply shrugged at her as he finished off the bag of chips, throwing the empty bag and packaging from the sandwich over his shoulder nonchalantly, although they would just so happen to lightly fall into a garbage bin that they ended up walking right by. He still felt so hungry. He knew plenty about how the human body worked - indeed, more than the majority of humans even knew about their own bodies - and so he certainly knew that the hunger feeling dissipated after being adequately fed. Of course, it did take a short amount of time for the body to actually register that food had entered it - a common folly among people who overate - but he still figured that he wouldn't feel that hungry still. This meant that his body required much more energy than he had originally anticipated, and quickly this situation concerned him. He needed to find a way to obtain a steady supply of food, otherwise he would end up starving to death at an inhumanly fast rate.

This was when Tara nudged him and asked him to tell her more about himself. This is especially where he needed to tread lightly. Obviously, he couldn't exactly get around lying here, as much as he disliked doing so. He had already planned out exactly what he was going to tell her, though, and he was sure that his little lie would be adequate for to believe. His only concern when it came to Tara's knowledge was the whole teleportation thing. She didn't point out that teleporting out of her room was an option he had forgone, in favor of climbing out a window. He assumed that she hadn't said anything because she likely believed that his teleportation "power" was unreliable and perhaps dangerous to his form, but he was still preparing his explanation as to how or why he would never teleport in front of her, or anyone else at that school, ever again.

Despite his thought processes dragging on and on with possibilities and answers to those possibilities, only a few seconds passed before he actually replied to her question. "Would it not be more logical to simply point out the place to check in to me? I'm afraid I cannot comprehend the reasoning behind us both going there. You will simply have to make excuses, or answer questions. Why cause yourself the trouble?" It really didn't make sense to him. It's not like he would be thrown out of the academy without her. Would he...?

He was able to detect from her emotions that this was something that she actually wanted to do, just as much if not even more so than out of simple feelings of obligation. He had already began preparing himself to apologize when she started coughing and showing alarming signs of illness. This startled him and immediately he threw out any previous thoughts of apologizing and began to think about the best way to help her.

But he also detected from her emotions that this wasn't something she felt comfortable doing in front of him. Conflict.

Should he just ignore it and spare her the embarrassment as best as possible? He easily could find some reason to become distracted and amused and "accidentally" ignore her for that brief period of time. But his main concern, truly, was her health. Considering her emotions he gathered that this wasn't something random - it had happened before. But what he wasn't sure was how many times it had happened before. He knew there was a possibility that she had an illness and had never told anyone about it. It was not uncommon for some stubborn, or perhaps ignorant, people to act as if they're perfectly fine despite obviously having an illness. Maybe she was in denial.

Regardless, he quickly came to his conclusion. Only about a second after she put her hand to the wall for support he rested his own hand upon her shoulder. "It is recommended you do not fight it so fiercely. You'll only make it worse. Relax and allow it pass, I assure you it will be less exhausting that way." Now he really wasn't sure if she should be accompanying him. Before he just didn't want to be in her way, or causing her trouble. But if she was ill then that was a different matter entirely. There were several possible illnesses that he knew of that could cause such things to occur, but unfortunately he wasn't able to discern which one of them it was by simply watching her cough up blood. Being bound in his human form didn't make things much better either.

But yet another thought occurred. Even if he had the ability to help her, would doing so even be a good idea? He felt terrible for carrying such a thought, but it was something he needed to seriously consider. How involved should he even get with this girl? Making friends with the citizens of this world was something that was highly recommended against, for obvious reasons. While it sounded cruel, simply watching and allowing her to suffer when he could possibly do something about it - even if all he could do is stay beside her and comfort her - would actually be, in this case, the recommended option.
