At the mention of the demon, the muscles in Tybalt's back gave a little twitch. It was invisible under his shirt and suit jacket, but it felt like a little kick, a basic instinct in response to something so opposite of him even if he hadn't seen or felt it firsthand. Not yet, anyway.

No matter, he wouldn't pass judgement right now.

Next thing they needed to find were those snuff films. He wrote it down and underlined it; those could lead to further legal repercussions and, as far as he'd heard of this man, he was beyond surprised that he hadn't been locked up for life yet. What was he? A ghost? How had he been allowed to run around for so long, especially considering this was an island and there were multiple reports on him in the system.

Like, seriously? Not a single person has spotted him in public? Nothing? Tybalt's face remained distantly neutral as he continued to write, branching off into details and ideas where he had them.

A dog, then, or something that acted like one. He wasn't an expert on that sort of thing, but the way he figured it, Tybalt probably was.

There was a tiny, small bit of relief when she said he hadn't done anything physically, but that relief squirmed away the moment she mentioned forcing her to watch snuff films. There was no way to know if they were real snuff films, but it didn't really matter. She thought they were, and that was what mattered.

Angelo nodded, resisting the urge to give her a comforting pat on the back. After what she'd been through, unexpected touches was the very last thing she needed.

"Alright. With your statement, we'll have enough," he paused, glancing up at Tybalt and giving him a quick nod. "Tybalt will go take care of things and take a team out to arrest him, alright? And you can stay here with me while it happens. I don't want you out and about in case things don't go well, and you'll be safe here. I can call your... well, your guardian if you want?" What was Klaus Rosales, anyway? Her dad? Guardian would just have to do.

Shay scrubbed her face. Her eyes were sore, and she'd developed a stress headache by the time she was done. The idea of calling Klaus here... to the police station after she'd just given a report. That made her feel sick. Her stomach twisted, and Shay thought that if she'd eaten more today, she might have just vomited right then and there.

The girl rubbed cool hands over her forehead and tried not to sound too panicked when she gave Angelo a swift, sharp 'no' in response. "And he'd want you to call him my dad." Which begged the question of what Shay wanted, but she was too addled at the moment to ponder it.

"We're not going to have to sit here in awkward silence when your partner leaves, are we?" Shay made a face at Angelo to show her clear disdain for the idea. "It seems like I'm going to be here for a few hours at least, huh? Are you just going to leave the room? Maybe I should call Vito and tell him I'll be coming home late..."

Not that he wouldn't know. Just like he'd know she was at the police station. Shay sighed and rubbed her temples.

Tybalt was going over things in his head. He had no description of the demon, and he couldn't really say that he wanted to go off and help it, but... Well, he needed to keep his job and his personal interests separate. Not quite personal interests, but instincts, rather. Ah, this one would be fun.

Not like it wasn't a riot already.

He knew it would be a conflict of interests if Angelo went out with him. Though Tybalt couldn't say he looked forward to working without his partner, of all things, he knew it would be for the best. Besides, if the girl was scared, it would also be in her best interest if Angelo remained with her.

With that, he gently flipped his notebook closed and slid his favourite pen in his breast pocket. Yeah, yeah that'd do. He'd get the warrant and be on his way as soon as he could possibly do so. An arrest was an arrest, even if it wasn't the joy of his life to do so.

But he offered a smile in Shay's direction, anyway. It wasn't snide, but gentle. Probably the softest expression Tybalt had mustered all month.

"Don't you worry about it, alright? We'll take care of everything."

"Guardian is a pretty standard term, to avoid upsetting anyone who might not have someone they consider parents," Angelo said, although it was only half true. He knew exactly who Klaus Rosales was, and he wasn't exactly tripping over himself to call him Shay's dad.

The question of how Klaus Rosales had not already raised hell over her being missing remained.

"What I do is up to you. If you want me to go, I'll go. If you want me to stay, I'll stay. If you want me to go get a deck of cards and play a game of war till you pass out from exhaustion, we can do that too," he said. Her needs absolutely came first, and no one in the station was going to fault him for playing cards to help calm a victim down.

When Tybalt got up to leave, Angelo gave him a firm look before nodding once. It was the near universal go fuck 'em up gesture, and he'd sure Tybalt would get the sentiment, even if he didn't say anything.

With that, he turned back to Shay.

Shay was taken aback at the gentle expression on Tybalt's face. She kind of assumed he could smell the wrongness on her, or something. His reassurance that everything would be okay and they would handle everything didn't make Shay feel better. She was the daughter of a crime lord and here she was in cahoots with the police. She offered a strenuous smile in turn and nodded stiffly. "Thank you, sir."

Eroshay turned an appreciative stare on Angelo and nodded. "Guardian then." Which felt wrong, but she'd keep the term for now. She was confused enough without opening up that can of worms.

She waited until the other man had left before sighing in relief and slouching in her seat. "He's kind of scary," her smile loosened a tad. "What, erm, what is he? And no, I don't want you to leave. I don't want to be sitting here alone for however long this takes. Do you only have cards?"

Angelo scratched at his neck, feeling a bit silly for having even said guardian. Just because he wasn't comfortable with thinking of Rosales as her dad didn't mean she wasn't, and he quickly shook his head.

"Was just - nevermind. Just call him what you want. Dad or whatever." He shouldn't have been putting his feelings so far in the open. Considering how he was raised, he didn't have a leg to stand on.

Angelo wasn't sure how open about things Tybalt was, but he figured it was for a good cause, so it was alright.

"Uh, fallen angel technically. He's a nice guy, honestly. He just has a hard time showing it." A very hard time. But that was just how he was.

Angelo paused a moment before standing up.

"I know someone has cards, but I'm going to raid the desks and see if anyone has any board games or something. Not really able to have a movie or anything, but I'm sure I'll find something, alright? I'll be back in like... five minutes or less." He wasn't going to leave--just ducking out to go to the bathroom and grab something to keep her distracted.

"I usually just call him Klaus," Shay said. Guardian and dad were too little and too much. "I guess the whole adopted thing hasn't really sunken in, yet." And Shay would try to leave it there for now.

All too happy to switch to the topic of Angelo's partner, Shay's stared at the door longingly. "That explains why he's so intimidating. I don't think I've ever met an Angel before." A regretful pause, before she asked, "so he wouldn't hurt me then?" She could never be too careful, even if her question come off offensive.

Shay didn't move much when Angelo had slipped out of the room. The longer she sat alone, the more her anxiety grew, until it was clawing its way up her throat and practically choking her. She rubbed her face, primarily her eyes, and hoped that all the negative feelings would somehow disappear with that one action.

It was in these moments that Shay wanted nothing more than to run. Just run and hope all the negativity couldn't keep up. It took all her strength not to get up and try to leave the station. To go as far and fast as she could. To the edge of Manta Carlos. Trapped. Isolated on this stupid place, with all these stupid people, where danger still trailed her like a shadow. No escape.

When Shay withdrew her hands from her face, they were slick with tears she was quick to wipe on her pants and hide. She dabbed her face with her shirt, hoping there was no redness left behind from the tears. Now was a time for bravery, not fear or desperation.

When Angelo returned, Shay jumped, like she'd been up to no good. She smiled contritely. "I'm --" Eroshay rubbed the back of her neck. Did she need to apologize for this mess? For everything? In the end, Shay needed to apologize for ever walking into Angelo's life.

"I'm sorry. For everything, not just this. For getting you in trouble with your partner. For being a Rosales. For meeting you. I know things haven't been easy since you met me."

It really wasn't a big deal that it hadn't sunk in yet. It shouldn't have been.

"I'll just call him Rosales then, alright?" Even though technically she was Rosales, along with what seemed like half the damned island.

Angelo wasn't entirely clear on how much he should be saying about Tybalt. Being realistic, he'd probably already said too much mentioning that he was a fallen angel, but he didn't feel like he was in a position to say no to anything she asked. She needed all the support she could get, and hiding things from her seemed like a bad plan.

Better to dance around things instead, because he didn't like lying at all.

"You probably have. There are quite a few angels, they just don't tend to be as obvious about it as demons. Demons tend to be more on the pride side of things, while angels tend to go for humility. So they tend to blend in better, without drawing attention to themselves as anything other than human."

That didn't really answer her other question though, and Angelo shrugged his shoulders.

"He wouldn't hurt you. He really is a nice guy, even if he's got a serious case of resting bitch fac-" Angelo cut himself off, cursing himself mentally for having sworn in front of a kid. "Even though he looks really angry most of the time." He corrected himself.

He shouldn't have bothered though. What were the odds she hadn't heard much worse?

The apology caught him off guard, and Angelo turned to look at her properly, fixing her in his gaze.

"Don't. Don't apologize for that, alright? You have nothing to be sorry for. You don't have to apologize for meeting me, and you definitely don't have to apologize for getting me involved. I'm a cop--doing stuff like this is why I became a cop, because no one should have to just suck up the shit they go through."

Having her apologize to him like that was alarming, and all he could feel was a deep sense of foreboding for what was to come. Tybalt, he decided, should absolutely be able to handle things--but there was still Rosales to deal with, and who knew what else.

"Sure," Shay responded. It was somewhat insulting, she supposed, the kind of comical thing two enemies did, but she still didn't mind it.

Angels scared Shay about as much as Demons had. It wasn't always thought she thought either would hurt her, but those were still forces she had no desire to be around. Living with the Rosales', she'd gotten comfortable around the latter, but being around an Angel meant they could see her. See her for the tainted thing she must have been.

As nonchalantly as she could, Shay said, "that makes sense." She tittered when Angelo cut off his cursing. "Resting jerk face, and you know I live with Demons, I've heard all the cussing." Even as she said it, Shay knew Angelo still wouldn't be cussing in front of her. He was morally correct that way, she guessed.

"The thing is, I'm not supposed to be around people like you. The ones who have the light. I just -- I pull people like you into dangerous places, I think. But you found me and helped me, you made me feel at home, and I liked that so I kept you when I shouldn't have." Eroshay gazed directly at the camera, staring and contemplating their first meeting.

"I never asked before, but what are you? Why am I so drawn to you? I want to say that when this is all over, I'll let you be, but I don't think I can."
