Eroshay smiled strenuously at Tybalt. "I'll just, talk with my parents about it. That's a good idea." God, what had she done? She was going to be in trouble. Something bad was going to happen. She should never have opened her big, fat mouth! Idiot. Idiot. Idiot. Shay's smile wavered as she watched him, confidence completely gone.
Shay looked around. She was in too deep, all right. She could fix this. She steadied her stare on Tybalt. "Could we go somewhere more private to talk?" Too many eyes and ears out here.

The more frantic the girl got, the more worried Tybalt grew. Victims often didn't want to confront the people who were causing them harm, or bring it up because it was too much trouble or drama. Realistically, these were huge red flags that the angel had been trained to catch. Why hadn't Angelo told him about this? In fact, where was he?
Concern was etched into the corners of his mouth, and he glanced behind him to find the police officer at the front desk was glancing over at them as if asking everything was alright. He gave her a brief nod, then turned his attention back at the girl. The strained smile certainly wasn't helping her case, as well as her tone of voice.
"Of course. Wherever you want." Wherever she wanted to talk, he'd probably go. After all, this was more or less his job.

The girl gnawed at her lower lip as she considered how she might go about explaining a few things because not doing so would be worse. Not explaining anything meant they would dig, right? There was no good way out of this that Shay saw. Not without telling someone something. She just had to find the lesser evil here. God, she wished Angelo were here, but Shay wasn't certain that would actually make things better. It might even make them worse.
"Nothing has really happened," she had to hammer that point home. Nothing was a stretch, though because things had indeed happened, but there was no way to go into that without opening a whole can of worms.
"Let's start over." She reached out a hand, meeting his eyes and leveling her gaze because this was important. "I'm Eroshay Rosales, and I just wanted to have a little chat about Vincenzo Fontana. He's taken some interest in me, nothing big, but he does like to mess with me. I just wanted to know if there was anything I should be worried about in regards to him and his previous crimes."

Angelo didn't often curse, but there were a lot of curses on his mind at that moment.
He swallowed the chunk of donut that was half in his mouth, scooting right up to the secretary (butting in line in front of several people), and dropped the two boxes of donuts he'd been sent to retrieve without a word.
Good god, why in the hell was Shay here? And why was she talking to Tybalt?
The only way it could possibly have been any more awkward was if she'd brought her new dad to the station.
Straightening his uniform, Angelo zigged around a few people loitering in the station, approaching from behind Tybalt before slapping a hand down on the Angel's shoulder.
"So, obviously someone's in trouble. Here's hoping it's not me."
He genuinely couldn't imagine a situation involving the three of them that didn't involve someone being in trouble.

Their offices weren't sectioned off; they weren't detectives, police officers kind of sat communally with small dividers in between them. Definitely not enough for privacy, but a lesser used hallway off to the side would do and he lead her there. It was still in view of the main area just in case and so neither of them could get in trouble, but they wouldn't be heard; it was far enough to be outside of earshot.
Nothing has really happened. Christ, this was sounding worse and worse by the second. He held back the urge to sigh deeply, biting his tongue and keeping quiet in case she had anything to say. It was very important to listen to these things, and he nearly reached into his breast pocket to bring out a notepad when a hand landed on his shoulder.
Tybalt bristled and if Angelo cared to notice, there was a twitch along his shoulders and down his back where the wings threatened to release themselves in defense. He'd been a little more skittish lately, and only when he heard his partner's voice did he relax a margin.
"Maybe. We'll see." He reached over to give Angelo's hand a little pat; to anyone looking on, it was borderline condescending. He knew better, though.
"Do you know her?" And if he did... Well, Tybalt would be pissed. Especially considering she was digging her own grave here with her words.

Shay wanted to say more. To make it better, but considering how that had been working out thus far, she closed her mouth and stared at Angelo, instead. She wore the classic look of a child with their hand caught in the cookie jar.
Considering how Shay had made Angelo's life difficult so far, she wouldn't have blamed him for thinking her coming here was just another weird way to speak with him about nothing. She'd have been totally fine with him believing she'd just been wasting his partner's time and that was why Tybalt seemed so frustrated. Yup. That was it. Nothing else.
At the same time, though, Shay wanted to be next to Angelo instead of this scary man. She knew him, and she trusted him, even if she wasn't certain he'd help her. She rubbed her hands together, trying to stuff down her nerves.

Angelo had wanted to make that look an awful lot around Tybalt the first few weeks, so he couldn't say he didn't understand.
That said, he didn't actually think she was coming one hundred percent about nothing. There would have to be a pretense, because Shay wasn't quite dumb enough to come around lingering again after he'd told her off. And if she was... well, then he'd misjudged her.
"Yes, I know her. I've mentioned her - not by name, but I have." Which was very, very true. "The kid I pulled off a roof during the tsunami who wouldn't stay in base camp."
Tybalt had definitely heard (an abridged version of) that story, but he hadn't named her during it.
Angelo didn't enjoy lying to people, but he had been a hitman for several years, and he knew when to keep his mouth shut. Knowing who Shay's new dad was pushed everything into the biggest 'keep your mouth shut' territory he'd ever seen.

If there was one thing Tybalt definitely didn't like, it was being left in the dark. He had a very distinct feeling that there was something not being said, that he was being omitted some piece of information. Call it a hunch, but he'd lived long enough to get a vague feeling that something wasn't quite right. It was true that Angelo did tell him about a girl he'd saved off a roof during the tsunami, but he felt that wasn't the end of it.
He felt the tension wrap around his jaw, but all he did was press his lips into a tight line. If Angelo's hand was still on his shoulder, he could probably feel the muscles going tight.
"Hm..." A vague sound of acknowledgement, though he wasn't too happy about it. Fine, pick his battles. One of the worst things about Tybalt - at least bad enough to get him cast down from heaven - was his incredibly easy to provoke anger. But he stepped down; he'd need to talk to Angelo later, but not in front of a girl who potentially needed help.
"Well, now that Angelo is here, what was it you needed to speak to him about." Be nice. Play nice until later.

"L-Like I said," she had to pause and find her voice. No stuttering. She didn't need to be afraid. "It's about Vincenzo Fontana. I don't know if you know who he is Officer Angelo. I was just wondering if, erm, there was anything particularly worrying in his criminal record? Something I might have to be bothered about? Can you even tell me information like that?"
She tried hard not to look at Tybalt right then. It was just her and Angelo and Shay didn't have to be afraid. Even knowing he might tell his superiors and everyone would know. Heh, it was almost funny when she looked in from the outside. She'd dug this huge hole and stepped into it before realizing her mistake. Well, now she was stuck down here.
"I was telling your partner that Vincenzo has taken a sort of interest in me recently. I know he has some fearsome rumors about him at school, but I'm not sure how true they are." Shay wasn't worried for her life. Vince wouldn't kill her, Milo had said as much, but there were worse things than death. Unstable was the word Milo had used to describe Vince. Unstable and dangerous for her to be around.

Ahh, well, it wasn't all his fault.
That said, Angelo really didn't know much about any Vincenzo. The name rung only the faintest bell, so it wasn't like he could just pop out a criminal record on demand. However, that wasn't information that Shay needed to know.
"If you feel uncomfortable about someone, you should trust your instincts. We can't talk about anything that isn't public record, so whether or not he has a file, that information would be sealed."
Angelo rather desperately wanted to ask why the hell she wasn't asking Klaus, who really should have been stop number one. Even so, there was no way to ask with Tybalt standing right there, forcing him to compromise.
"If you feel someone is taking a negative interest in you, you should approach the school's faculty. They have ways to handle this sort of thing."
