How immature, Shell thought to himself as the girl mimicked his talking with a hand puppet. The same thing he would do to his sister when they were nine years old.Shell refrained from making some sort of insulting comeback of any kind, still trying to remain calm. But that was growing increasingly difficult if she continued to be such a pest.

"Relax, I'm not," Shell said, then turned around and sat back on the table, not wanting to be so close to her any longer. He let his feet dangle over the edgeand leaned forward, so that his arms were resting o his thighs. "You obviously have some male issues."

Once she'd said okay, he had a feeling she wasn't being completely honest. Then with her sarcastic add on,he gave a small chuckle and tried hard not to roll his eyes, since it annoyed her so, but he couldn't help it. He had to do it one last time. "You know what? I'm good. Thanks," he said, rolling his eyes for what he would try to be the last time.

"Because it's my last name. Benjamin Shell." He'd never fully understood why people would call him Shell, but he'd gotten used to it. The only people who wouldn't call him Shell were his parents, and Delilah, on occasion. Shell shrugged and said, ""Hmm, I guess so."

"You obviously have some male issues."

She was glad to hear that he hadn't been picking on her being female. "Stating the obvious?" she questioned, yawning. "That gets boring after a while and your wasting your voice." She looked at her nails to emphasize her boredom and blew on them, even though there wasn't any dust on them or the like. It was all just to get to him.

"You know what? I'm good. Thanks."

Cordelia snorted, but wound up smiling afterward. "Well you just tell me when you want that ice cream," she said, her smile curving into a smirk. She wished she had a notepad with her so she could act like a waitress, but unfortunately, she didn't. Oh well.

Then he rolled his eyes. "If you don't stop doing that, I'll go back on my word," she threatened. If he stopped rolling his eyes, she would officially stop calling him kiddo.

"Because it's my last name. Benjamin Shell."

"Well I can see why they do call you Shell..." Cordelia said nonchalently. Finally, an insult had come to mind! Maybe it wasn't making fun of his last name, but his first name worked too!

"Hmm, I guess so."

She sighed inwardly. "I'll take that guess as a compliment," she said.

Shell shrugged and sighed, letting off a little bit more steam. Boy, was she annoying, but he was already getting used to her. "Well, now you were wasting your voice with that comment about me wasting my voice." He smirked and cracked his knuckles on the table —an old habit of his. After doing that, he'd realized that he hadn't cracked his knuckles in quite a while; he used to crack them whenever he could, or when he was getting bored. And right now, Cordelia's comments were getting boring. Just like his to her.

The boy grinned and said, "Don't worry, I will." Of course he wasn't going to actually ask for ice cream, because he knew she wasn't going to actually get him any. It's not like she was a waitress or something.

"I know, and I'm sorry. I just couldn't help it." He sighed and tried cracking his knuckles again, but this time none of them cracked. "I won't do it again. I promise."

"Sure...let's go with that," He said, not caring if she took his comment and turned it into a compliment, he had no idea if he directed it towards a compliment. It didn't matter.

"Well, now you were wasting your voice with that comment about me wasting my voice."

Cordelia snorted and rolled her eyes. Like Shell, she was beginning to get used to him, even if he annoyed her. "Not really," she said. "You didn't know stating the obvious would waste your voice, so I merely informed you of that. So how is that wasting my voice?"

"I won't do it again. I promise."

A black eyebrow rose and her dark blue eyes narrowed. She doubted that. He had just done it after all — what reason did she have to believe him, or even just trust him? "Just give me a reason why I should believe you," she said. "I mean, how many other times have you done it?"

"Sure...let's go with that."

At this, her brows furrowed, and she wondered what he had really meant by that. "Did you not mean it as a compliment?" she questioned, a tinge of anger in her voice. Who could deny that her name was pretty?! Ugh, stupid men. "What else could it have been?"

Shell thought for a moment, trying to find some sort of answer or comeback to what Cordelia had just said, but sighed deeply when he came up with nothing. Defeated. "I guess it's not...I was..wrong." It was a bit hard for Shell to admit it, since he hated admitting he was wrong in certain areas, but he knew he had to for her to just drop the subject. Hopefully.

"Well, the only reason a rolled my eyes at you more than once was because I knew for a fact that it annoyed you. But now, why would I roll my eyes and break my promise, if I know that you'll start calling me kiddo once I do. And since you know that I don't enjoy being called kiddo, why would I do it?" Shell stopped and took a breath for a moment, almost jumbling up his words for a second. Good thing he didn't.

Oh man, was this girl persistent. Talk about getting annoyed over every little detail. Shell resisted the temptation to roll his eyes and instead gave a low groan. "I actually didn't mean it as anything. Not even in a negative way. I just..." The boy simply could not find the words to explain how he had meant what he said., without getting Cordelia worked up. But now he was starting to think that that was almost impossible.

"I guess it's not...I was..wrong."

A smirk of triumph and satisfaction curled onto the vampire's lips. "And I was right!" Cordelia finished with an obnoxious laugh. It made her feel so good inside, knowing that she could make people say such things. She did a miniature victory dance, which simply consisted of her spinning in a circle and waving her fists to the left and right. "How does that make you feel?" Cordelia smirked, fighting back laughter. This was just too good!

"... And since you know that I don't enjoy being called kiddo, why would I do it?"

Too... many... words! Cordelia lifted her hand and mimicked his talking again, sighing. He hadn't needed to explain it in so many words; one sentence would have been enough. "Could you get anymore talkative?" she questioned, patience running thin. "I get it. Honestly, you don't need to explain it that much..."

"I actually didn't mean it as anything. Not even in a negative way. I just..."

She folded her arms over her chest, playing with the hem of her gloves. Eyes narrowed again and she glared at him, biting her lip. "Spit it out," Cordelia hissed in a threatening tone. "Say what you meant by it. You said it and you'll explain what it means."

And of course, she didn't drop it. She just had to do her pathetic little victory dance, didn't she?The boy had to fight, yet again, the rolling of his eyes. Cordelia was so obnoxious and annoying he didn't know how much longer he could stand remaining in the same room with the vampire. How did admitting the fact that he was wrong make him feel? God, what an obnoxious girl. Talk about enjoying making others feel bad. But Shell wouldn't allow himself to get affected. "What? Was I supposed to feel humiliated or something?" He stared at Cordelia, completely serious, an believing every word he had just said. He wasn't going to get humiliated and feel bad because of her.

Shell simply ignored the girl's comment, not even wanting to answer to her. He could tell she greatly enjoyed bugging him, so the easiest way for her to stop was to ignore her. The majority of the time. He resisted for about the tenth time to roll his eyes, and instead, cracked his knuckles. It was becoming much easier for him to remain quiet than always gave a sarcastic retort and raise the annoyance and anger even higher.

He growled in a low tone once again out of annoyance and focused his eyes to the dark scenery out the window. Though of course the only thing he could actually see was the roof of the school and the top of the trees in the forest. "I literally didn't mean anything by it. Nothing positive nor negative."
