I'm his bodyguard!

“Thank you kindly,” Francis bowed his head lightly at the older woman behind the counter who personally to him lacked any fashion taste. But the woman didn’t seem to fancy his advice and merely wanted to focus on printing off Guy’s schedule. He felt bad for the woman since she seems so heavily involved in her work that she didn’t even have time to receive a little friendly advice.

The two of them were within the administration office getting Guy settled in and of course that meant him as well. But she didn’t seem to be interested in talking to him just doing her job. It was their very first day at the academy and since he wasn’t told anything about his own room he figured that meant he’d be bunking with Guy.

Which seemed splendid for him since Guy was absolutely fabulous to talk to. He never complained about what he had to say or shun him like other people he didn’t really say much of anything… at all… But that was beside the point! Francis understood when he had a good thing going and Guy was the perfect gal pal he needed to let out all his troubles.

The purple haired man started towards the exit, and began scanning over Guy’s schedule before he paused. “Uh…what is this?” he asked as he turned and made his way back to the desk. “Power classes,” the woman responded plainly. “Yes… but he doesn’t attend ‘power classes’. This must be a mistake.”

Guy remained standing within the room silent as the two of them began politely arguing. He referred to it as such because they were both restraining the real anger that hid deep inside them. His multicolored eyes moved away from them and to the open door leading out into the main hallway.

It was quiet… but that was merely because all of the students were in class.

“Guy is immortal with no other powers. Immortality is passive what training could he possibly obtain inside a power class? None I tell you, none!” Francis told her animatedly.

“Sir all students are required to attend power class unless we are personally requested by a higher authority otherwise.”

“Higher power, it should say on there that Lucy requested this. Oh my goodness I am stressing out... How could this information not be here? Lucy is going to fire me.” He began and gently fanned his face.

“Fire you sir?” The woman asked broadly and was immediately informed again that Francis was Guy’s bodyguard. She however had thought the man was joking… which just caused them to argue even further. But Guy’s attention had left them completely.

Without either of their knowledge he had stepped out of the room and into the hallway. It was long… and relatively clean… but there were too many colors. The long narrow room would have been more appealing to him if it had been bathed in white.

Guy stepped forward and reached out to press his fingers against the wall.

White was perfect for revealing dirt…

Hidden… locked away…dirt…

The people here could be so noisy. There was no need for Sasha to deliberately listen in to what was happening in the admissions office – the flamboyant young man there raised his voice to the point where it was impossible not to hear him.

The boy in his care, on the other hand, was far quieter.

Sasha watched quietly as the boy stepped out of the admissions office and into the hallway. “Is there something on the wall?”

He was leaning on it a few feet away from the boy, eyes closed as he scanned the city’s landscape.

“Is there something on the wall?”

Guy’s expression mildly changed as he was drawn entirely from his thoughts. He looked to the man beside him and found himself at a loss completely. He had lost his concentration… and couldn’t recall what he had been thinking about at all. Unknown to him that was the result of the medication he was currently taking.

Although he had recalled the man speaking he offered nothing in return. The man wasn’t looking at him so he had no obligation to converse with him. Lucy taught him to always engage in conversation only if the other individual was speaking directly to you.

The male was too old to be a student. He was taller than Guy and his expression was…void of any emotion. His hair was dark blonde, short and curly…

He drew is hand away from the wall and turned his body fully towards the man. But he said nothing and merely continued taking in every detail about him as possible.

Sasha snorted softly at the boy’s reaction. Though he was quiet, Sasha didn’t feel like it was in quite the same way he was normally quiet. “You’re a bit out of it, aren’t you.”

He made sure to meet the boy’s eyes this time. “They’re arguing about you in there. What’s your opinion? Think your powers are worth training?”

The man quickly showed a reaction through his snort… and Guy immediately linked it to the emotion ‘amused’. He seemed entertained by him and Guy felt disappointed… but he couldn’t link why he felt that way. His thoughts were clouded and a chore to decipher.

His gaze slowly lifted to the man when he finally made full eye contact and gave him an opening to speak. He listened and echoed within his mind Lucy’s rules about speaking to others.

“My power… is passive…” he corrected but his voice was quiet and slow. He had to always calculate his words carefully or he would say something that would offend. Guy didn’t seem to blink or break eye contact with the man at all. For the general public such attention could be considered eerie if not uncomfortable.

The boy seemed to struggle over his words. Sasha imagined he’d had a rather unusual childhood to have so little understanding of social constructs – even Sasha had picked up more than he did in his organization.

Passive, hmm? “Yes, immortality, they said. I doubt the school would have picked you up for immortality, though. And your bodyguard – seems odd an immortal boy would need a bodyguard.”

The man continued speaking to him and his tone, as well as his words, held a hint of suspiciousness to them. There were emotions that were difficult to catch… and with his faltering concentration it was harder to decipher things.

“Indeed…” he replied plainly about having a bodyguard, but recalled why Lucy had decided to send him away. “But never aging is a problem in the outside world…”

His speech was still slow and quiet, but not in a stupid way… it seemed more sinister as if there was something deeply troubling about him.

There was silence between them once more as Guy slowly looked over the man and seemed to focus on one of his hands. They were aged appropriately unlike his own and without any consent from this man, Guy reached out and grasped onto one of his hands. He carefully looked it over and took in the difference from his own. By now the mistake made on Francis part was corrected and the bodyguard was finally realizing that Guy was no longer in the room.

“I suppose it would be. And here I was supposing you looked your own age.” Now he couldn’t help but wonder how long this boy had been alive. Or this man, perhaps?

Sasha let the boy touch him. And why not? There was no harm in it. The boy’s hands were soft, young. Sasha couldn’t say the same – he’d done a lot in the last thirty years.

But the boy still hadn’t answered this question. “That man in there – did you bring him here of your own will, or was he assigned to you?”

The man’s hands were very different than his own… and he was silently thankful for the contact. It helped him better concentrate and kept his focus more solid. He would have liked to know the man’s age just by looking at him… but such a want was impossible.

“That man in there—” the older male began and Guy lifted his gaze up towards him. “Did you bring him here of your own will, or was he assigned to you?”

“Assigned,” Guy returned his voice still the same. But it was at that moment Francis caught sight of them. The purple haired man peeked from the reception office and was thrown into a panic when he witnessed the two of them, h-holding hands and talking to each other! About what… well he had no idea! But it couldn’t have been good!

“Guy!” He called out to him and quickly rushed over with a bag on his shoulder and papers in his hand. He shoved the paper and books under his arm and quickly separated them. “What are you doing— Uh…” he fumbled as he looked to the tall older man.

“Are you a teacher?” he questioned awkwardly.

Assigned. Interesting. But before Sasha could ask more that bodyguard came out of the room and forced them apart.

For a moment the man’s outburst confused him – then he realized “Guy” must have been the boy’s name.

What sort of name was “Guy”?

But he was being addressed. “A teacher?” He blinked and paused as if confused. “No, not quite… there’s a small group of the student body that only speaks Russian. I work with them at times – only as a volunteer, though.”

“And you? What are you here for?”
