Name: Ib
Alias: Jigoku Karasu, Mistress Karasu
Age: Within the hundreds range; looks 18
Birthday: She doesn't know.
Gender: Female
Career: Florist

Appearance Description:

Ib is a fairly small woman. She stands at a mere 4'11" and weighs light enough for many people to be able to carry her. She has red eyes — err, rather one red eye and one empty eye socket where an eye should be. People can't see that because she uses her hair as an eye patch; her long black hair covers the eyeless side of her face. Her hair goes past her hips and often is styled into two ponytails with bangs. She has pale skin that's about one shade darker than white. Her frame is petite and gives one the impression that she could easily blow away in the breeze.

The woman seems to be the gothic lolita type. She wears dresses with ruffles and ribbons. She adores ribbons in particular to the point where she always adorns her hair with them. The dresses have a dark color scheme and have a certain Victorian look to them. She wears stockings that come in solids generally, though she occasionally trades them out for striped thigh highs. Her shoes vary between fancy pumps with thick heels and dark sneakers. Mary Janes are also apart of her wardrobe. It really just depends on the event. That's what affects her footwear. She wears no makeup and minimal jewelry. Her accessories tend to be limited to bows.

Ib is actually a hell raven. She has a true form which is a ridiculously large demonic raven. It's about the size of a mansion with a wing span to match its body. It's of course comprised of feathers, but these are special feathers because they're okay with having hellfire blaze from them. The missing eye is clearly noted with the one eye glowing crimson red. She also has razor sharp claws that can grab things and leave nasty scratches.

Personality Description: Ib is a quiet girl that tends to flowers. She listens more than talks and prefers to stay out of the limelight. She gives off the impression of being shy, especially since she usually doesn't approach people. She waits until she's approached before she communicates. Her attire might make her a somewhat noticeable presence depending on the setting, but she's mindful of adapting to the occasion. So she won't wear overtly formal clothes to a gym. Secretly she's a woman with some serious mental issues. These mental issues have led her to kill and trap people's souls into a usable form. She is a sadistic ex-prisoner from Hell that feels people are just mere puppets for her to control. She's manipulative and cunning, and she will do anything to get what she wants. What does she want? Well, for one, to watch the world burn. Another goal is to retrieve her stolen eye.

Powers: Ib is a hell raven. What does this mean? It means that she's actually a giant raven that's described in the appearance section. Like many demons she has functional immortality. This makes her able to be killed but it serves more as an inconvenience for her. A really bad inconvenience...she doesn't want to have to respawn in Hell.

Ib is a little different from other hell ravens. While hell ravens normally have command over hell-fire, she decided to aim for more and became skilled with potions. Thanks to the wonders of the dark arts, she can craft potions for various desired effects. Want a love potion that induces infatuation towards the nearest target? Sure! Want a potion that makes someone hiccup uncontrollably? Alright! Want to rot the insides of someone with a ghastly poison? HURRAY! Despite some potions being possibly more light-hearted than others, she often requires odd ingredients like someone's blood or voice or even a soul when it comes to the strongest level potions. Ah yes, the potions that are designed to make the drinker's life a living hell (Or perhaps just straight up not living at all....). She requires time to craft the potion and also works under contracts. One has to make a magical contract with her to utilize her services, usually at the cost of whatever needed thing she needs for the potion. Equivalent exchange, you know! Beware though — careless people may end up giving her possession of their soul.

Ib 's other power is what made her dangerous in Hell. It was soul manipulation. She can directly manipulate souls in either a puppetry manner or by stuffing them into a usable object/construct. She's unable to create and/or destroy souls, but she can toy with them as much as she wants. As in physically. Emotions are unaffected by the use of this power. You being pissed about her taking your soul is entirely your doing, nothing that she's manipulating. Of course, this comes with obvious limitations. She requires either possession or familiarity with the soul she's messing around with. The former is ideal since that requires the minimal amount of energy. However, that means she has to own the soul somehow. She usually takes ownership via magical contracts that foolish people sign. There is also the complicated process of soul binding which basically turns the person into a familiar. The latter is much more difficult. It requires her to have been in close contact with the target for a prolonged amount of time. She needs chances to poke around and scan the person's soul. From there, she can inject her energy in one way or another to forcefully hijack the being's soul and control it from there. It requires a lot of energy and the target may show resistance. Stronger souls are much harder to cope with even if she has possession of them.

Biography: Ib was born and raised in Hell. She was a mere raven; she was really just a pet for demons to have. Because of this, no one would think of her as a threat. At best she was a nuisance because she acquired combat training from her (rather abusive) masters. This meant she was a nice little guard bird. She spent many years getting treated like dirt and being disregarded as a threat. She was lucky to have rotten meat for food at times. Discontent with her lowly role, she aspired to become more.

She disguised her attempts at getting stronger as necessary measures to improve her guarding ability. She began scouring for magical tomes and attempting all kinds of horrible rituals. At first she went very basic. One had to start from somewhere. Her spells were fairly harmless and at worst practical jokes. However, she soon found a hidden aptitude in spell casting that turned her from a pet to a nightmare. Once the raven acquired enough power, she overthrew her masters and began going on a rampage through Hell. Demons and tortured souls alike were tormented by the ferocious creature. She held a lot of pent-up rage and an overwhelming desire to use her dark powers to inflict destruction. Her ambitions blinded her and led her into becoming an utter monster.

Trouble only intensified when she gained access to Earth. Her desires to continue her rampage only grew. That was when a brave individual took her on. This person managed to gorge out one of her eyes and cast her back into Hell. In Hell, the demons chose to imprison her for her crimes. She could not be allowed to rampage anymore. But the time spent in imprisonment only made her wrath grow. Without a way to exercise it, she let it eat at her brain to the point where she was not only sadistic but insane. Any other emotions were seemingly eaten away. She wanted to obtain vengeance over her stolen eye, especially since that did take away a portion of her power. Then a story reached her cell; a tale about thirteen magical items that could destroy the world.

Well, she wasn't going to find these fourteen items inside a prison cell, right?

So she broke out using an elaborate plan. She wasted no time in grabbing a flask of souls, a spell tome filled with dark magic, and a bag full of currency. The hell raven escaped to Manta Carlos and purchased an apartment. From there, she got a job as a florist. She tended to the flowers and sold them to the romantic fools and idiot gardeners. While outwardly she seems content with her life, inwardly she's plotting her next move.
