Ishvi opened his mouth to ask why, but changed his mind and closed it before he could say anything. He didn't want to ruin the moment by voicing his doubts aloud. Or scare off the one person who'd ever given him any affection by reminding Jacota of just how broken he was.
His own hands were also rough - from training, from police work, but most of all from the burn scars where the hilt of his daggers hand branded themselves against each palm. It was a measure of how much Ishvi trusted Jacota that he hadn't hesitated to touch the young man's hand with his own, even marked by his fall.
He felt a little self-conscious about them now. Hoped Jacota wasn't repulsed by him. Actually felt a little sick, but that might've been the hoard of moths he seemed to have swallowed. He might've pulled away, until Jacota started brushing his hand. And all he could do was stare at their hands in something like shock. Because why was Jacota treating Ishvi like the half-angel was more than a half-breed thing that didn't deserve to have people care, especially now?
Ishvi, more than a little ashamed, but very much amazed, mumbled out, "I think... I like you." He paused and his free hand clenched a bit - though he didn't move the one touching Jacota's. "I feel like I - I should, I should apologize."
