Maddie stood by the lake nearest the forest. She held a long stick in her hand, which she would throw and watch as Bandit retrieved it. She normally would have thrown the stick in the water, but the time of year prevented such a thing, so instead she aimed her throws for the forest.
Bandit was beginning to get ornery and would stand by wagging his tail as she called for him to bring the stick back. A few more throws and he could come close to her with the stick, but always lurch to the side when she went to take it.

"Knock it off," Maddie told him. "I'm not gonna throw it anymore if you won't let me take it."

At the frustration in her tone, Bandit wagged his tail, and his eyes seemed to smile at her. She assumed that meant he would let her take the stick back, but when she reached for it, he jumped to the side and began to run. Maddie was quick to chase the dog around, hollering for him to stop.

She was much slower than him in this form; It would have been smarter for her to shift, but she had been trying to do less of that lately.

Maddie doubled over, hands on her knees and breathing heavily as Bandit raced off into the woods.

"Bandit!" she called in pure horror. He was a smart and strong dog, but he was still only a dog, and there were many mythical creatures she could imagine would like to eat or kill a dog. Panicked, but out of breath, Maddie frantically called for him a few more times.

He was walking along the lake bed wearing a pair of black jeans and a plain Blue t-shirt and a pair of black dress shoes. It had been a long day oh school work and he needed a breather. A moment to clear his head for all the 0s and 1s binary code was no easy feat to learn in a few days. He loved to come out here to relax or exercise along side the lake bed.
It was quiet and tranquil most of the time until today. A long series of shooting can be herd for a far Bandit! a woman cried out from a far almost in desperation it sounded like.
Was she being robbed in a place like this? He had a serious look on his face and began to run towards the shouting hoping the person didn't hurt her to badly. It toke no time at all to get towards the shouting woman as he toke a moment to breath looking around with a look in his eyes ready to attack.
"Are you alight? Where did the thief go? Did he take anything?"
He looked at the woman up and down seeing if she needed any medical attention on the spot he couldn't do much but stop a bleeding wound but it be enough to get to a hospital if need be.

Maddie turned her wide-eyed stare to the man. She was breathing heavily from her screaming and running. She pointed mutely to the woods.

"I —" her voice broke, and she cleared her throat before trying again. "No. It was my dog, Bandit. He ... ran off into the woods and — he's just a dog! What if something —" she cut herself off.

Maddie squeezed her eyes shut and tried to calm herself. "Nothing here eats dogs, right? Please tell me nothing around here likes to eat dogs." She repeated this and wrung her hands.

He rolled his eyes for a moment. A dog he thought god what a name to pick. He truly thought this woman was in danger. He understood the feeling behind it but gezz that name. He thought to himself in these woods sure there were things that could hurt a dog but that could be anywhere at any place truly. Even though his place is unique wouldn't be any different if was a normal bear or lion vs a dog. But he couldn't tell her if there was truly nothing here he didn't know the land that well himself. But she would obviously get into some type of problem out here she seemed somewhat younger then he was and He wasn't sure of her capability's.

He toke a deep breath "Nothing ever good came out of panicking like that. I cant say what would hurt that dog during the day. But if he was just playing around with you he shouldn't have gone far."
He took a long around the area listening to the sounds of the forest. He didn't have anything special tracking abilities but maybe a dog bark should be simple enough. "What direction did he go last? He would most likely be near by. " He said in a low calm voice.

Maddie was able to calm herself down enough to point ahead of her into the woods. She began walking in the direction her dog ran off in.

"Yeah, you're right," Maddie said with a deep breath. "Okay... Okay..."

She cupped her hands over her mouth and called out Bandit's name as she stepped forward.

There was no sound from the forest, not even a lone bark. The longer the silence stretched on, the more Maddie looked like she might cry.

He toke a small sigh as to what he got himself wrapped up in spending the day looking for a dog wasn't really in his plans but he didn't like seeing people this upset after all it be the right thing to do. He placed his hand on her shoulder and made a small simple. "Don't worry will find him at some point i'm sure he start to run back when he gets hungry."
He started to walk in the direction she pointed in and began to gaze around as he walked looking for signs of movement. He didn't expect the dog to be there right now but it was his way of staying alert the deeper you get into the woods the more dangerous it gets. The way of life and all.

Maddie found herself following after the man. She had to help because sitting back and waiting hopelessly would drive her mad.

After a few moments, Maddie shifted forms to her coyote self as she tested the scent of the air to stay on Bandit's trail.

Deeper into the forest, and already past the cemetery, Bandit roamed happily. He had since dropped the stick and was pushing his nose into anything he could. There were many strange smells here, and they intrigued him.

The forest was much darker here, with gnarled trees and odd sounds. Something snapped to his right. Bandit's head shot up, and he stared at a darkened thicket, head low and eyes focused.

((Sorry for the late reply. :) ))

After walking along for a few moments. The area seemed nice enough. the sounds of birds chipping and the usual sounds of the forest. Listening for a dog bark would be to bad hopefully we wouldn't find a pack of wolfs instead. Though he could easily fight some common wolfs off.
Then suddenly he watched the woman change shape with a odd aspersion in his face as she began to sniff for a trail...... Wait a min why in the hell would she be so worried? If she could do that all along she be able to find him in no time at all with the basic tracking ability she has now.
He sighed a bit and began to fall back a bit following her instead. a dogs nose was more reliable then his own eyes right now. He got the fact she was worried about other creatures but he wasn't so she she could change into more then just a type of dog.

Maddie moved gracefully in this form and with a hop to her step. Soon, she found Bandit's trail and followed it without caution.

She didn't know what was in these woods, but she had to imagine whatever was, would be stronger than a dog, stronger that any animal. She felt at a severe disadvantage.

Soon, a dogs growling and barking could be heard not far ahead. Bandit yelped, and something larger gave an inhuman howl. Maddie growled and ran forward, her protective instinct kicking in.

Just ahead, Bandit was standing low on the ground; his teeth bared in warning. The creature across from him was wolf-like in appearance, but its shoulders were too broad and it's front legs were bulky, it's waist and back legs tapered off, and its tail was nothing but a stub.

Something snapped and alerted her hmm danger must near by he thought. He stood for a moment drawing in his energy as a sword of flames appeared in one of his hands and a small buckler shield in the other.
As they ran threw the forest and coming open the lost dog encountering a enemy. The enemy seemed deformed a type of Kaine he hadn't see before or a bad experiment. But it seemed like the Two were going to hurt each other he couldn't let that happen. He threw the sword with all his might at the deformed dog aiming for the forest floor in front of it. Enough to set the wood a blaze and make a nice fire. Hopefully this would scare the dog off though it might be to easily for that simple tactic.
