Lizzy hadn't bothered to go to the Lilac ball. She'd considered trying to ruin it in someway, but the fact that Rowan and Chi were going, as well as Dela was enough to stop her from pulling something. That said, she fully expected to hear about what had happened once it was over.
What she hadn't expected was to get a text that very night. And when she saw what it said, she was immediately concerned.

Michi hoped Lizzy wouldn't reply, with part of her wishing she wouldn't need to look back. As soon as she got home, the voices changed tune and it let her review the events of that night which... were admittedly less than ideal. So when her phone buzzed, she knew what was coming.

If Lizzy were in the same room as Michi, she'd have heard/seen the girl scream into her pillow before proceeding to reply with a poker face.

Lizzy read, then reread the text multiple times because there was a lot to unpack there. Not only had Rowan ASKED Chi to be his girlfriend, but it sounded like Chi had rejected him, which would be very bad.
Though from the sounds of it Chi wasn't even sure of what she said, and given her reaction to being told Rowan had a crush on her, Lizzy hoped that Chi was just misremembering what she had said.

Michi whimpered to herself. Gosh. It was very hard to remember anything when the voices loved to tweak her memories every so often. Michi did her best to remember and quickly sped through her reply.
Michi was glad to see no one was there to see her struggling to type the word 'girlfriend' aside from the voices she had in her head. Quickly, she fired another message.

Lizzy had to resist the urge to physically cry. All the teasing, the advice giving to Chi, and all her efforts to make Rowan and Chi a couple, wasted. Gone. All because Chi had to go and open her big mouth.

Lizzy then took several deep breaths. She needed to focus. This was very, very bad, yes. But it was okay. She could still fix this somehow.

Michi stared at the reply. It probably took her a while to respond, mostly because she kept rewriting her message, right next to trying to figure out what she even wanted to tell and/or ask Lizzy.

Lizzy glanced at the clock on her phone. It was 12:30 in the morning. She should be asleep right now.
