"Mmm." Myndy said as a 'you're welcome'. She tilted her head up to look at the sky, which made her hood slide off her head. She didn't bother to fix it. "How old are you? She asked after a while. "That is, if you don't mind my nosiness.

I do mind but whatever.

"15." Matthew said simply. He watched her with darkening eyes. Her hood slid off her head, making her face a little clearer. He waited a second then spoke. "I might as well be nosey and rude too. What's your age?"
Matthew's tone was harsh but his expression polite enough.

13- 14 in a little over a month." Myndy replied, very proud of the fact that she would be 14 soon. She tried to think of something else to ask. "What are your powers?" She asked after another moment.

The question caused Matthew to suddenly withdraw into himself. His eyes turned cold as an invisible wall slid up behind them

He'd forgotten himself for a minute, he'd gotten too kind to this total stranger "I should go." He started to get up

Myndy stood up, a little confused. It didn't make sense that someone so touchy about their powers would come to a school for powers. "Sorry...I didn't mean to make you mad." She said softly.

Matthew hesitated and looked down at her. He turned away for a second, taking a deep breath to clear his head. Then he turned back around a little more relaxed. "It's...fine. Not exactly your fault." The boy took a step away from her, feeling slightly uneasy.

It wasn't his powers themselves he hated to talk about, it was just that they reminded him of so much. So much that really hurt him deep down.
"Look Myndy, go on back to your book. I shouldn't have bothered you anyways." His eyes seemed kind for a quick moment, then the warmth faded. A cold breeze blew over the two and Matthew shivered slightly. "Little cold for sitting out here isn't it?'"

There you go again! You keep on talking to her which is stupid because you really have better things to do

Myndy shrugged, kind of glad that he had asked another question. This was the first actual conversation she'd had since arriving there. "I suppose it is a little cold. It's not too bad, though, if you're not thinking about it." She explained.

Matthew kicked at the ground a little. "Yeah, I guess so." He glanced up at her, again unsure what to say. "I'm wasting you're time aren't I? I'll let you get back to your book if you're sick of talking to me."
