Nia clicked on the first song that popped up and watched as a little cartoon of a duck played. She watched intently until the video was finished.

When it was over she was quite for a moment and then started to giggle softly, a bit restrained as if she was afraid to make too much noise.

"That duck was silly." She said softly looking at the boy with a smile. Only for a moment though as suddenly she felt very awkward and looked away. "I'm Nia." The introduction felt a bit forced but that was Nia; pretty terrible at social interaction. But she was trying. This was only the second person she had ran into at Starlight besides her dorm parent and other administrative personnel.

Oh, the duck song. The song that captured primary school. Ugh. He despised that. It was funny the first time and maybe the second. But after excessive amounts of playing, hatred would began to burn in bones. "Yes, yes it was," he murmured, giving a smile. At least someone found it slightly hilarious. "I'm Roman," he offered his hand for shaking, storing her name for future reference. She wasn't very relaxed, but he didn't really mind. Friends were friends, and he wasn't one to share his opinions.

"Roman..." Nia repeated quietly to herself. She didn't want to forget his name. She was very worried about forgetting things. She had already forgotten so much.

She looked at his hand and slowly reached hers out to his. Her handshake wasn't very strong. In fact, it felt scared and she pulled away a bit too soon so it made things a bit awkward. She could feel her anxiety rising as the sudden realization hit that she had accomplished her goal of finding funny internet videos and no longer needed to be where she was. It was the sense of panic like she needed to be somewhere else but didn't know where that was.

"I uh...I guess...nice to meet you." Nia blurted out as she jumped up from her chair and made a beeline for her room. She felt a bit bad about running away from Roman like that but she didn't know what else to do with herself. Her social skills need some major work.
