Leucos slowly opened the door to the place that was soon to be his sanctuary for the school year. The room was mostly empty save the bare necessities as he had no roommate at the present time. As he entered the room, he placed his small suitcase on the bed, and began to unpack. Clothes went into the dresser, the poster of his favorite Norwegian band above his bed. Finally the only picture of his father that he had managed to sneak out of the house on his night-stand.

He nodded at how nicely everything was placed, even if several of his outfits still lay strewn about the room. Leucos scratched the back of his head as he contemplated rearranging the poster slightly to left as it seemed to be off center. He shrugged to himself, just as an emotion flashed in his mind. Someone had been scared, most likely by their roommate as their fear turned into happiness. He sighed wistfully and wished he had more friends, although he wasn't exactly a people person to begin with.

Footsteps in the hallway drew his attention, and Leucos turned away from his poster, and peeked his head out the open door. Empty. Not a soul to be seen in the dorm hallway. Although, most students were out and about by this time of day. Leucos shrugged again and walked away from the door, putting in his earbuds as he did so. Leucos had once again managed to tune out the world in a matter of second as he began putting away the rest of his belongings. "I wonder if there are any interesting people in the dorm rooms right now." He thought to himself as he began to quietly hum the tune that played through his earbuds.

Elizabeth had seen the new boy walking in with all of his things earlier and noticed he didn't really have anyone with him. Nobody in fact. As far as she was aware the dorm across from her was usually empty.
She was sat reading on her bed but from where she was it was easy to watch through the little window she had. He took a bunch of boxes in and then disappeared for a while, probably to unpack. Then, he suddenly opened the door, looked around and went back in. Was he waiting for someone? Nobody seemed to be coming. With a sigh, Elizabeth put a bookmark in and placed the book on her bedside table. Whilst going to visit someone who was moving was probably a little out of character, she felt bad for him and related a little as she had no dorm mates herself. Besides, this new, happy her was feeling good today. Padding out across the hall, she knocked twice on his door and waited for him to answer.

Leucos jumped slightly as someone knocked twice on his door. "Someone's..at the door?" He thought to himself as his heart rate sped up slightly. He slowly approached the door and hesitated before he turned the knob. Who was on the other side? Could it be someone in his grade? Or maybe it was one of the teachers coming to say hello. "You have ways of figuring this out!" He mentally shouted at himself.

Leucos huffed at the fact he hadn't taken it upon himself to sense the emotional background noise he usually ignored when possible. He closed his eyes and concentrated for several seconds, sifting through the signals that were father away until he had narrowed his search to just beyond the door.

"Odd...Everything is..mixed?" Whoever was beyond the door had a very interesting emotional profile, it was hard to tell what they were feeling at any given moment, as their emotions were hard to read clearly. Leucos opened his eyes and gulped before he twisted the knob, and opened the door. His muscles tensed in the event he needed to make a quick get away. Although the window wasn't the best escape option, he'd cross that bridge when he came to it.

Wow. Elizabeth's only thought was that this guy was clearly nervous as hell. The rigid stance, the tensed muscles. She laughed a little "I'm pretty sure my bedhead isn't that terrifying. The names Elizabeth and i saw you moving in, figured I'd come and say hello." She offered out her hand for him to shake, hoping he could overcome the evident fear he had. "Also, I promise I'm not a stalker or anything. I'm in the dorm opposite which is why i saw you."
She peered behind him at his dorm. He'd unpacked pretty fast, apart from a few outfits strewn across the room. Again, she looked back to the new kid and smiled, hoping he wouldn't shut the door in her face after she'd gone through all the effort to stop reading and be polite.

Leucos shook her hand, taking care to not squeeze too tightly. "H-hello! I'm Leucos! Well..Luke for short." He said, scratching the back of his head after he returned her smile. Her emotions were less confusing now, and malice wasn't one of them. Leucos calmed down and relaxed his muscles. "Well, she doesn't seem like she's going to murder me..So that's a plus...I think." He thought to himself.

"AH! Jeg glemte nesten-" He stopped himself before he continued as he realized that English was definitely not what he had just used. "S-sorry, I mix up my languages when I'm excited" He said shyly before he moved out of the doorway. "D-do you want to come in? It's not very nice of me leaving someone standing outside my door.." He said while he stared at the floor, embarrassed that he had nearly forgotten to invite his first guest inside.

AH! Jeg glemte nesten = Ah! I almost forgot!

You're Norwegian? Det er vanlig for flerspråklige mennesker. Ikke bry deg om å blande språk opp.
Elizabeth smiled as she stepped into his dorm, not really sure where to stand or whether she should sit. She went for just standing in the middle of the room. "So, Luke, I assume you only got to the island today? You been shown around at all yet?"
She was somewhat amazed by the change in character from really nervous to shy and much more relaxed, if a little excited. She got the feeling he knew more about what was going on than she did. Perhaps a mindreader? An empath? "If you don't mind me asking, what are your powers. I know its a little sudden so early on into the conversation but I'm curious."

It is common for multilingual people. Don't worry about mixing languages up

Leucos' face brightened as soon as he realized she could speak Norwegian. His smile widened ever so slightly now that he realized he wasn't such an oddity. "Well, there was this one girl..Chloe..yeah that was her name! She took me to the infirmary, and I have a pretty good idea on where the Library is..Aside from that, I'm still kinda lost." He chuckled softly as he recalled the mishap with the directions to the bathrooms.

Upon the conversation turning towards his powers, Leucos' smile faltered, although he quickly recovered. "Chloe said I'm an Empath..although it's more of a curse than a blessing.." He said quietly as he tried to ignore all of the bad memories that rushed to the surface. "Anyway! Enough about me, what's your name?"

Elizabeth smiled, "so you at least know your way around a little. Thats a good start. It sounds like you've made at least one friend too. Better than i did."
Ah, so he was an empath she guessed correctly. She felt quite proud of herself for that one. Luke, however, seemed unimpressed with his powers judging by the split second look on his face as well as the muttering. Elizabeth chose to ignore it but then gave him a look after he asked her name. "I just told you, my names Elizabeth," she said, laughing.

Leucos face-palmed and groaned. "Sorry! It's just I can be forgetful sometimes and then I forget important things and it's really embarras-" He then went on to rant for a few moments, switching from English to Norwegian halfway through. Towards the end of his rant, he switched back to English. "I'm sorry for being an airhead! There's just so many things to take in! Heck I didn't even know there were other people like me! Much less a whole island!" He paused to take a breath.

"That, and there are way too many cute boys here for it to be legal." He mumbled, and then blushed every shade of red imaginable. "D-Did I just say that out loud?!" He whisper yelled as Leucos tried to disappear on the spot. Sadly, Empathy does not bestow the ability to make oneself invisible, much to Leucos' dismay.

Elizabeth listened politely to his rant, an amused smiles playing on her lips as he repeatedly switched languages. It was a good thing she'd learnt Norwegian at one point because this was too funny to miss.
As he paused Elizabeth was about to interject with a 'you done' but then he started talking again. Elizabeth just laughed and let him finish his last sentence. He immediately seemed embarrassed, it would seem that this wasn't something he was entirely comfortable sharing yet. Herself, Liz didn't see why other people should judge people on things such as their gender and sexuality but she still understood that it was difficult for those trying to come out.
In an attempt to put him at ease she gave him a small smile, almost a smirk. "Oh there are plenty I can assure you, I've met a number of them myself."
