It has been a week since they're drunken affair happened. Alaude didn't see his best friend within this span of time; he had tried to stay home during the first three days mostly, suffering from the strain their activity has caused his hips, and even during the fourth and fifth day the pain didn't completely disappear so Alaude spent only short hours in the academy, only dropping by when he was briefly needed for maintenance of the facilities, usually the electronic and mechanical ones.
These physical tasks didn't do well in relieving the pain; in fact, they've made it worse, which meant that Steve managed to make what he had said happen, that Alaude wasn't going to sit right for a week.
The dark haired man groaned as he recalled it. They had been dead drunk that night, and login and reasoning really couldn't work at times like those. Still, he wished he didn't have to remember. He wasn't sure how Steve thought about the whole thing; he hasn't seen the man these past few days also since Steve as the head of the Human Resources most likely have been very busy, stuck yet again behind his fort and towers of papers.
Alaude was mostly shrugging the whole off, on the outside anyway, though his inner thoughts that he always tried to keep to himself were more regretful, more ashamed. Steve was his best friend-- he actually managed to have one and only in a span of a couple of months-- and a part of him dreaded it if things end up becoming awkward.
Of course, all these honest thoughts only ran inside his head. On the external side of things, Alaude continued to help with maintenance work as much as he could before the wave of students for the next academic year could come rushing into the campus. They made sure the equipments were functional: speakers, screens, projectors, sprinklers, internal wirings, etc. Alaude's ability came in handy the most during these moments, as they no longer had to open up the walls to check for possible wearing in the wires, or the equipments to check for internal damage.
At the end of all these was the Administration Building. Alaude was tasked to check every 'machine' in every room. ACs were top priority next to sprinklers since it was summer. Eventually he had to come into the Director's office. Alaude explained his reason of dropping by to the secretary, and asked her to ask Steve if it was alright to intrude at this moment. At the same time, Alaude began his inspection in that room with the secretary. Fortunately, he usually found that nothing was wrong, and of there were any they were quite easy to fix.
