Versailles lingered outside the door to the fashion club's club room, a large box balance precariously between her hip and left arm, right raised to knock. She was unsure if she should simply walk in or attempt to knock in hopes it would be heard over the sounds of the machines.

Were the machines even running?

Maybe it would be easiest to simply walk in.

Versailles knocked on the door softly and slipped in, trying not to make very much noise in case someone was trying to concentrate. She didn't really know how the whole thing worked so she simply stood off to the side with her box and tried to keep away from anything that looked important. Important being everything but the trashcan.

Versailles didn't know what to expect from her secret santa, but she hoped he enjoyed brownies a lot. He'd probably be eating them all throughout the holidays.

Thierry was busily sewing in the fashion clubroom. Not with the machines, of course, but against the wall on one of the uncovered couches, while the other chairs were draped with different colors and types of fabrics and cloth. He was hunched over what appeared to be a long rectangle of fabric, sewing it in half length-ways.

He had to make something nice for his Secret Santa partner. It wouldn't be right if he didn't make the date like everyone else. Plus, he was almost done.

It was a fairly normal scarf that he had his mom help him knit, little kittens playing with little yarn balls decorated it, and he really hoped she liked it because he had no idea what else to do.

When the sound of door opening roused him from his concentration, he tucked the pin he'd been holding in his mouth into the little tomato he had wrapped around his arm like a bracelet. "Oh, are you here for Secret Santa?"

Versailles looked around and noticed the young boy sitting on a couch sewing something, surrounded by fabrics. He said something to her but she couldn't quite make out the words. Something about Santa, so she assumed he was the one she was meeting so she approached him.

"You are Thierry Virtue right? My name is Versailles Amaranth, it's nice to meet you. I would hand you your gift, but you look busy and I'm also concerned about it harming the fabrics...Is there somewhere I can put it that won't be in the way?"

Versailles glanced around the room a bit, trying not to jostle the box too much and keep attention on Thierry in case he spoke. Perhaps something else would have been more effective.. the brownies probably weren't the best thing to give to someone who works with fabrics.

Thierry nodded. "Yeah, Thierry is me. Pleased to meet you Versaille."

He stood up from his work and walked over to her, looking around at the occupied tables and the occupied chairs. The club room was almost always a mess because of how they liked to work. Most of the members preferred to have their selection of fabrics spread out where they could all see them. There was a table covered in scraps, so he figured there would be no harm in moving them out of the way.

The small boy cleared off one of the tables, setting the fabrics onto one of the already covered chairs. "You can put it here."

He looks somewhat sheepish. "I must apologize, I'm still putting the finishing touches on your gift, so..."

Versailles smilled sweetly at the boy as she lowered the box onto the cleared table. My, this club made quite the mess didn't they?

"It's quite alright, I was just putting the finishing touches on this morning, and you probably won't be able to do much with it until you get home. I hope it didn't get ruined on the way up."

The fox girl procured a pair of scissors from her bag and began cutting away the tape holding the box together. One by one the sides fell to reveal a nearly exact replica of a sewing machine, made entirely of brownies as thick as a cake layer. There was an actuall thread spool at the top with licorice wrapped around it and thread through the brownies to where the needle would usually be.

"I may have gone a little overboard with this, but I don't have anything else to do with my spare time."

Thierry watched as she set down his gift, shifting in excitement as she used scissors to open the box.

Inside was...

Oh. Oh my goodness.

It was a sewing machine, made in painstaking detail out of chocolate brownies. Every part of it was mimicked almost perfectly, to the point that he wondered if he would be able to enchant it and actually make things with it.

Although, he figured that would be pointless because of the fact that it was made of brownie. Anything he put on it would instantly be made too dirty to keep working with. Silly Thierry.

He looked so happy. "Thank you so much! I love chocolate!"

Emboldened, he went over to where he'd been sitting, small mountains of strangely patterned fabrics on either side of him.

"Give me a moment to finish this." He held it up for her to see. It was a scarf of kittens playing with little yarn balls.

Versailles's small smile of pride at making such a finely detailed art grew into a larger, happier smile full of joy. She'd been right. He would love the present. Did love it.
His joy was infectious. Maybe this was why people made Christmas such a money thing. They wanted to be the one to wow, and bask in the happy environment they made.

Maybe.

It was more likely that it was specifically about the money.

She was tempted to fawn over the scarf he was making before he was even done with it, but she knew better than to interrupt. She would have thrown someone put of the kitchen if they interrupted her work on the brownies.

Instead she just admired from afar, marvelling at the handiwork. She'd tried sewing when she was little. She ended up with a mangled looking green cat plush. It was obviously poorly made but she kept it anyways. It was probably in the unpacked boxes hidden in her closet.

"I can't imagine how much work you'd have to put in to get that good. I can barely patch a hole in a blanket."
