Taking in a breath of the salted air, Loralei truly began to relax as if to let go of her worries. It was a perfect night out, and the slight chilly breeze only encouraged her to huddle up with her boyfriend for warmth. And so she would. At least, in the sense that she grasped his hand. The touch of it always sent a pleasant feeling to her chest that sufficed as any amount of warmth. It was… Nice.
However his complement broke this sweet silence. Chuckling, she brushed a lock of her black hair behind her ear. "Well thank you." She stated a bit confidently. It was almost too easy for her to respond with a ‘damn right’, like she would have. But Carl must have really meant it. He always told her how beautiful she was in his eyes, and though she didn’t deny this it helped her feel a bit better about herself. "Good thing then that I have a handsome boyfriend to go along with me then, hm?†She chuckled as she nudged him gently by her arm. She laughed a bit more at his retelling of the somewhat sour memory. Deep down though she knew how much of a damper it could have been at times. But it was far from the worst date she’d ever been on. And it wasn’t like he hadn’t put in effort. By the sound of it, he really and truly did care for it to be good for her. "Hey… Don’t worry about it. You did great Carl. Other people may have tried to ruin it, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t perfect.†She smiled up to him, hoping that he’d understand that she really appreciated it. That day he did so many things he wasn’t used to, just to make her happy. And really? That’s when he proved to her just where they could go.
But his reasoning for why it failed was because of her looks. To this, she looked down and blushed ever so faintly. Now now, she wouldn’t say that... "I wouldn’t say it was me. Those guys were a couple of douchebags. And assholes will be assholes.†She assured. But he insisted. Either that, or he really was just ‘frustrated’. she’d still give him the benefit of the doubt, whatever the case was. "Only yours.†She confirmed, smiling softly. This smile soon turned pensive, as a question was brought out of the blue…
Did she want to leave here? To go away from this place? Now silent, Loralei looked towards the ocean, gazing across the vast blue. From her lips eased out a single ‘mhm’ a few moments later. Not taking her eyes off of it-as if staring at it long enough would reveal what lay ahead. "I really do.†She sighed. "My mentor assigned me here to get used to my powers, and snag a master or two. But none of them have lasted, nor have they really asked what I wanted. I could leave here, upon consent of my master. But according to him I wasn’t ready for the ‘real’ world quite yet on my own. It’s bullshit if you ask me.†She laughed a bit sadly. "In all actuality I could be standing on the moon right now if I so wanted. But no, I’m stuck here until someone says otherwise.†With that, Loralei turned to him. "Why?â€
