Taking in a breath of the salted air, Loralei truly began to relax as if to let go of her worries. It was a perfect night out, and the slight chilly breeze only encouraged her to huddle up with her boyfriend for warmth. And so she would. At least, in the sense that she grasped his hand. The touch of it always sent a pleasant feeling to her chest that sufficed as any amount of warmth. It was… Nice.

However his complement broke this sweet silence. Chuckling, she brushed a lock of her black hair behind her ear. "Well thank you." She stated a bit confidently. It was almost too easy for her to respond with a ‘damn right’, like she would have. But Carl must have really meant it. He always told her how beautiful she was in his eyes, and though she didn’t deny this it helped her feel a bit better about herself. "Good thing then that I have a handsome boyfriend to go along with me then, hm?” She chuckled as she nudged him gently by her arm. She laughed a bit more at his retelling of the somewhat sour memory. Deep down though she knew how much of a damper it could have been at times. But it was far from the worst date she’d ever been on. And it wasn’t like he hadn’t put in effort. By the sound of it, he really and truly did care for it to be good for her. "Hey… Don’t worry about it. You did great Carl. Other people may have tried to ruin it, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t perfect.” She smiled up to him, hoping that he’d understand that she really appreciated it. That day he did so many things he wasn’t used to, just to make her happy. And really? That’s when he proved to her just where they could go.

But his reasoning for why it failed was because of her looks. To this, she looked down and blushed ever so faintly. Now now, she wouldn’t say that... "I wouldn’t say it was me. Those guys were a couple of douchebags. And assholes will be assholes.” She assured. But he insisted. Either that, or he really was just ‘frustrated’. she’d still give him the benefit of the doubt, whatever the case was. "Only yours.” She confirmed, smiling softly. This smile soon turned pensive, as a question was brought out of the blue…

Did she want to leave here? To go away from this place? Now silent, Loralei looked towards the ocean, gazing across the vast blue. From her lips eased out a single ‘mhm’ a few moments later. Not taking her eyes off of it-as if staring at it long enough would reveal what lay ahead. "I really do.” She sighed. "My mentor assigned me here to get used to my powers, and snag a master or two. But none of them have lasted, nor have they really asked what I wanted. I could leave here, upon consent of my master. But according to him I wasn’t ready for the ‘real’ world quite yet on my own. It’s bullshit if you ask me.” She laughed a bit sadly. "In all actuality I could be standing on the moon right now if I so wanted. But no, I’m stuck here until someone says otherwise.” With that, Loralei turned to him. "Why?”

’Then go.’

Loralei turned her head. A look of confusion immediately came across her face upon this instruction. Did he mean…? Before she questioned anything she listened to his logic, trying to decipher his ideology. Did he… Want her to leave him? She mentally shook of this thought. Of course not. Why would he? There was that old expression ‘if you love someone, let them go’. Now of course the severity of forever wasn’t up to debate this. For a little while, maybe. But she wouldn’t leave him. Not after all that he had granted her.

He understood more than she could say for anybody that crossed her path. She didn’t want to be forced to stay at one place. Only by her own volition. He cared about her needs, her wants, and her desires. So even though he gave her so much freedom, she would never take it for granted.

"And leave you?" She turned her back to the ocean to face her boyfriend. She approached him with footsteps silent in the sand before placing a hand on his cheek, turning his focus to her. She kissed him on his forehead lightly before looking down. "I mean, I don’t have to leave any time soon. I have a whole eternity to explore what lies out there. And if I did go? I’d want you to go with me." For now, that was her condition. She liked solitude and learning things for herself. And if she needed space and room for her to develop, she’d most certainly give the word. But… Not now. She shrugged, letting go a bit.

"Besides, at least your house is home to me. " She pointed out. On a nearby rock jutting from the sand the genie sat, looking up to Carl. "I mean, sure. I’ll leave out on my own from time to time. And yeah, I do have to figure things out. I’m still young, with a hell of a lot of room to learn. But there’s no rush, right?" She smiled a bit before looking beyond the ocean. All she wanted was the thought, the notion that she could leave when she wanted. It was something that wasn’t afforded to her much before, but she didn’t really complain. Or at least, she sort of repressed it all in.

"As long as I have your permission, it’s fine for me to do as I wish." She told him, before realizing something. A sigh came from her. God, I feel like I’m four again. She told herself mentally. She flinched a bit of a smile again, trying to shake off the thought. But even after that Lori was silent for a few moments as if to contemplate what exactly her boyfriend needed to hear. or what the truth was, at least. It was then she spoke up again.

"You don’t need to do anything Carl. I’ll take any of the heat I’ll get." Loralei assured to him. ”Thank you, though. That’s something I’ve been wanting for a very long time, even before I got these powers."

Almost immediately did she noticed he looked a bit saddened by this news. Just as she was to him when she learned that he would have to leave her, every year to fight his war. But this was from her own choice and not forced out of her. She knew she was her own woman, and was very much capable of controlling her own fate. But she knew Carl loved her, and naturally he didn’t want her to go away.

Hm…

Loralei looked a bit surprised at how willingly he was to put everything he had earned aside so that he could be with her. That, and he lacked the attachment to land to the point he didn’t mind. Still… He would do that? She quite liked it here, the house and all. Plus, it was the only place she could roam the streets and not have to worry about a thing. The world beyond couldn’t afford that luxury. So… She didn’t necessarily want them to leave forever. And definitely not her by herself. She smiled reassuringly up to him, before standing up from the rock.

"I do like it here. I honestly do." Loralei stated firmly, looking up to him with confidence seething in this answer. ”But I’ll be happy anywhere, as long as I’m with you. It doesn’t matter if I’m on this island or the south pole." She chuckled a bit, hoping to bring his down mood up. ”I do want to get away from time to time. But I don’t want you to have to change things for me. As your girlfriend this is what I most want. Out there… Out there is wonderful, but beside you is where I’d rather be. Regardless if I’m a genie, your girlfriend, or…”

Or…

As she trailed off, he brought up the token he left behind for her. It was the first time he’d mentioned it in over a month. Now, the truth was revealing. He explained how he felt, and instantly heat welled up in her chest and face. Warmth overtook her when he stated that he felt more than just a boyfriend. How in his eyes, she wasn’t just his girlfriend. What they had, growing from a hatred to a tolerance to a fondness to a love was starting to bloom even more. And yet… All of his emotions would be put on the line just so she could fulfill a dream.

From her jacket then she unzipped a pocket. Out of it she pulled the box that she kept in perfect condition, while still bringing it with her practically everywhere. Just to think about it, and all that it meant. Her fingers traced along it, her eyes never losing its focus.

"It’s really beautiful, you know." She whispered, smiling a hint. "I guess you really do mean it. That you love me, and..." And what? If him sacrificing this for her wasn’t indication enough, this sure would be. Her ring… This showed a lot off, between them, for all that has happened. She silently gulped. This was all too much. Before she could continue any further, though… She wanted to know one thing.

"You said you had almost everything you’ve ever wanted. Tell me.. What else do you desire?"

In that moment, her heart stopped.

She knew it was coming. There was absolutely no doubt about it. But... But to hear him say that he loved her more than anything. He had solid proof to say that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, only amplified by the fact he was immortal. He even wished for it, one of the three he'd ever get. It wasn't against the rules either- he wasn't asking for love. He already had that.

A month's worth of pondering and anxiety would boil down to this very moment. He needed an answer now. And as she looked at him, she could see a firmness in his demeanor that affirmed his stance. It was all up to her now to think of hers. She grasped both of his hands in hers. Nervously, she squeezed them, eyes tracing up to focus on his face. Drawing in a breath, she was ready to give her response.

"Wish granted."

It was done. All that they had worked for came into light, and she was more than happy to see what it had become. "I..." She was speechless. There weren't any words to describe this state of happiness she was in, and now officially they could be together. As partners, for as long as they were to live. In pure blind instinct she wrapped her arms behind his back and buried her face in his chest. She remained there for a few moments, unmoving. Before slowly raising her head again. "I'd be honored to call you my husband. Of course you can marry me." She squeezed tighter, a bright smile on her face as she said it. "I never knew... This was how strongly you felt. You're honestly one of the best things that have ever happened to me. I mean it." Firm was her voice as she held him in her arms. Soon though she let go, though she still remained close to his body. The wind from the beach blew gently at the pair, and the stillness of the world intensified. Almost as if it were just them on this planet.

"Guess the future holds a lot for us now, huh?"

She couldn't think of anything more perfect, honestly. Her boyfriend- well, fiancée, assured her happiness would come first. She rubbed happily against his touch and smiled at his warm words. But this marriage wasn't to be about one owning the other. She listened as he laid all of her desires out before him, and promised that he would let her do whatever she wanted. She could go away somewhere on this earth or assume another identity. And always, have someone to come back to that loved her. It really was perfect.

"I'll do just that then." Loralei promised. If it would make him happy to see her happy she would most definitely follow his commands. Both for him, and herself. All the things she wanted to do... It wouldn't be limited by his reign over her or her species. Good. Just as it was supposed to be. When he feared that keeping her here was similar to being trapped inside her silver prison, she shook her head. "Don't ever worry about it. When I'm around you it's because I really want to be. When I go out there... Well, I'll miss you a lot. But I want to learn and see new things, so I may have wisdom to get me through the centuries ahead. You granting that freedom to me is the best thing I could ever ask for... Well, that and your hand in marriage. But you beat me to that." She then chuckled, holding his hand tightly as she took hers in his. There was so much potential for her, and thinking through it all was a bit tough. "I'll be honest, I have no clue what I want yet. But something will strike my fancy. And when that happens I'll stick to it. If it'll make you happy, and me... Well, we both win. I'll make you proud, and me too."

It was settled then. She new now that her being his genie didn't matter one bit. As long as they had each other, and they were doing what liberated them most, they could be whatever they wanted. For now though, they had the night together. She wanted nothing more than to make it memorable. Already though that seemed to happen, as Carl led her down by the shore to show her something unusual. In a few moments, he invoked the ocean wide open. For her and him to walk in, where no one else could follow.

Amazed, she looked around, going deeper down the tunnel while exploring the aquatic world around her. It was pretty... And reminded her much of that first date together. She chuckled, running her fingers along side the water next to them. She turned back to Carl. "So, what's all this for?" She asked,
"Did you want to show me something?"

"Mhm." Loralei replied after a moment of pensive thought, combined with a spell of awe. Her focus concentrated on the expanse of blue above and the silence all around them. Sure it was a bit dark, but those orbs of Carl’s kept things a bit more clear. She could see everything in the clear water- the fish, the coral, a whale in the distance and colors not common on the earth’s surface. He may not have seen this whole thing as much, but to her it was certainly impressive. "I mean, I’m not one to often times take that sort of initiative like that. Mainly because I’d be worried you’d say no. But I thought hard about it even before I saw your ring. That first night… When we truly came together… I saw more of a man than I had seen in my twenty one years. And in those years I had begun to piece together what I wanted out of a relationship. You had all of it." She looked to him, squeezing his hand in hers as she looked upon him fondly. "So yeah, in theory I would have. Glad you had the hutzpah to do it first though." Even now she sort of felt surreal about the whole thing. This man she was looking at was her future husband. The same guy she couldn’t get herself to trust a handful of months prior. Now she wanted to really be with him forever. Or, at least, forever until tragedy would perhaps break them apart. It was all too much to take in at once.

Regardless, she’d be happy for now. The water was beautiful and the mood felt alright. "It’s great, Carl. It really is." She assured him when he had doubt on where to take her. Never been here before, she could safely say. It was then he tried to explain the reason behind his proposal, and how he felt conflicted over it. A chuckle came from her throat. It really was captivating how concerned he was over her happiness, and just what he meant to her. "I was more than happy to help you heal. I’d be devastated if anything happened to you here. Plus… I got to be close to you. Worked well for the both of us." She stated in a hushed tone. From what she knew he was so hesitant to accept any form of help, and when he did it was hard to grasp. She just wanted to be there for him. "Long before I even agreed to be your genie I wanted to show you that I sorta believe there’s someone made for everybody. We both wouldn’t bow to anything. Strong willed but… Sorta lonely. At least I was. Shutting out others is easy. Letting ‘em in is tricky. But you did, and I did too. And look what’s become of it." Even though this was true, she still saw it in him that he was afraid that it’d be all taken for granted. If she was ever unhappy, she could leave. That thought was… Comforting. But after all they had been through? She wouldn’t take him up on that quite yet.

"It takes two to make a proposal happen though." She said, before stopping suddenly. She moved in front of him, folding her arms. "If I didn’t think I’d be happy I wouldn’t have said yes. But I know what you want. And what my powers mean to you. I’m staying with you because I love you and what you will do, not what you won’t. Please don’t worry about that kind of thing. If anything does happen well… Then I’ll go. But I don’t think it will." Her back then turned to him as she continued down the trail. "There’s plenty of time to figure out how everything will work between us. But for now, can’t say I gotta complaint against being Mrs. Bateman."

It was already decided that, no matter how long the genie lived for, she never wanted to forget this night. He was revealing more about himself as he assured his spot beside her in matrimony. Well, not yet. But in theory. He booped her nose, as he spoke of how she decided to approach the proposal. She looked down and blushed, not before being stopped for a kiss. The moment allowed that warm feeling to return to her chest, similar to how it felt when their skin came into contact. "Well, giving me time to decide like that was dream enough for me." She chuckled, nuzzling into him as they continued to walk together down the road. It was true though, it allowed her time to process the rational decision and weigh all her options. In the end, she opted to go ahead and say yes. So far, she wasn't regretting it in the slightest.

What came next was a sudden turn in mood. The air grew still as he explained the utter selfishness of others. How he could be married to some woman out of mercy. Or even, his own personal gain. But she doubted he would. It was still awful nonetheless. "Poor girls." She empathized with them, mainly due to how they would be forced into something against her will. Tossed around, as if someone that was supposed to love them really only used them for personal gain.... Almost, she shuttered at the thought. It was all too familiar. It was then she became deathly silent, listening to his words without so much from her. And he was right... Maybe they were to start their own family one day. Wasn't on her mind for the near future, that was for sure. And yet he'd only experienced how disposable it seemed to be. Well, that was it. She was going to prove that wrong to him. By showing him how much he mattered to her, and whatever they by chance might make in the future.

But he spoke of hope still, which managed to brighten up the mood as well. With that she smiled, faintly but comforted. "Mankind always has had its flaws... But... We learn from mistakes. If we didn't we'd all be dead." She asserted, before kissing him lightly on his cheek. But then he spoke of something that completely surprised her. For once... Or at least abstractly... He admitted he wasn't perfect. Or ideal. She was completely speechless for a few moments as he said this. But she spoke up again, chuckling a bit. "Well, no one's perfect. But you're enough for me." Sure, he had a lot to learn. But that didn't mean he couldn't, or that he eventually would be.

From that she learned something else new from him. His whole true identity was finally revealed, enough to beg a lot of questions. "Well, nice to meet you then Mr. Endoleon." Se chuckled, mocking a fake bow of her head. "Y'know, it makes me wonder where you got Carl Bateman from all of that." She admitted jokingly. If it didn't spell what might be doom for him, if she was him she'd keep his original name. It was kinda cool sounding. With that she shrugged to what came with this marriage, looking to her fiancée with a pondering look. She tapped her chin with her free hand.

"Honestly, even as a small girl I didn't give much thought to it. And even up until now I didn't even think I'd get one." She admitted. "But... Since I'm actually getting married... Well, I don't need anything too flashy or whatever. Not like I have family or a shit ton of friends to invite." She then chuckled. More enemies than friends, mostly. But she didn't want to appear to be as lonely as she seemed to be butting off. "On the other hand, I only intend on this happening once. So I want it to be memorable... Enough for me to keep all the important details in my memory for eons to come. Your input is important too, for that." She asserted quietly, before looking down. It would be hard to admit but... "Cliche as it sounds, I do want it to be perfect. Or at least close to it. I just want this to be a happy memory for the both of us." Whether or not true perfection was possible, there wasn't much that could ruin the whole experience. Because... "As long as I have you, I'll be happy.... And cake. Cake is great too."

That was… A perfect idea, actually. While Loralei wasn’t necessarily in favor of total privacy, she didn’t really have the masses to back that wish up. At least, no one close. So inviting the community could be interesting, at least for meeting other people. If anything people would come for the food. So there was that. Feeling the warmth of his hand to her cheek assured that he knew what he was doing, to which she smiled softly. "I’m down with that." Lori responded, fond of the idea. ”Besides, if you’re going to help make this the perfect wedding might as well let others see it, huh?" She teased slightly with a bit of a chuckle. Honestly though? She didn’t know what truly was perfect. But as long as everyone was happy, she couldn’t imagine the definition being so far off from that ideal. Of course, a major contributor to this theory would be what she’d hoped for. "Hell yeah." She said almost excitedly, a smirk clear on her face. As long as there was cake, she figured there wasn’t much that could go wrong.

But there were still the technicality aspects of this whole thing, like just what exactly came with her future husband. After all, she was marrying a man that led a practical double life. "I guess I’ll have to have time to decide then." She muttered pensviley. It was… A lot to take in. Perhaps both, perhaps none. She could keep her maiden name if she had wanted, but that only made things even more complicated. "But who knows? Maybe my own name one day’ll be outdated. Things are bound to change but… I guess I still have to plan for the present, just as much as the future." Normally being a slightly impulsive person, this should have been easier. But the more time she spent with her betrothed, the more she realized how life wasn't so black and white. Keep his modern name or the one that lasted him millenia? Eh, she’d think of the proper solution later. Whatever the solution was he did bring up a valid point. And it nearly frightened her.

"Tired?" She repeated breathily, before he leaned in to comfort her physically. Tired of what? Even as she had so caught herself up with the years ahead, she couldn’t imagine a time where she’d get sick of this. She inhaled breathlessly as he embraced her, feeling the heat in his body ebb over hers. Combined with the sweet words he whispered to her, this notion of getting sick of him felt all the more impossible. However… "I can’t even imagine a time where I’d ever get sick of moments like this." Her voice grew low as she too touched her lips to him. A rumble of a chuckle came from them as he mentioned something about intimacy. To which she knew would never grow old. "We’ve only scratched the surface of what we can do together, believe me. Use me for my magic or not, I still know how to have a good time. And keep things spiced up." Abit more of a mischievous laugh arose from this, though died down shortly after as she eased a hand through his hair. She had all of him to her. This eons old man chose her out of all people to elope with, and must have seen a potential in the two of them that Loralei may not have seen yet. With the back of her knuckles she gently rubbed his cheek, before ultimately lowering her arm. She sighed. "Like you said though. Together, we’re just an ordinary couple with the same wants as everyone else. But… I know there’s things we have to do differently. I mean, you have that war, and I want to see places far beyond here. We’ll be seperated from time to time, and for a damn good while at points I can imagine. Days, months, years, centuries… As long as we can come together after it as if time was frozen still, I guess that’s how things will last between you and I."

Loralei was silent then for a moment to digest her words. Heaviness aside though, she tried to think of the positives. Carl looked absolutely elated that she said yes, which she could imagine was a wonderful way to be welcomed home. She felt that glow-type feeling associated whenever he complimented her, and she figured i was only right to fire what she had to offer right on back. "Hmhm… I can’t say that this hasn’t been the best thing to happen to me so far either… To think I get to call the world’s best invoker my own..." She kissed him softly. "And fiance." With that she let go, patting him gently on the shoulder. "Well! Guess we have a lot of planning to do. There's invitations, decorating, where and when... Not to mention… I have… To wear a dress... Damn, this is a lot.." On second thought, maybe the planning could wait…

While her mind was being eaten away by how many things were to happen to make this huge change, Carl seemed to be taking things more easily. And rightfully so. Maybe it was just nerves that she wasn't used to handling. She'd had masters and owners before but... This was on a different level. Still, she had faith in Carl, and figured she herself needed to take a breath. Things would work out as they always did. Besides, a century from now wouldn't happen for a long, long time.

So she rested a bit of humor in the speculation of what she'd wear. Her face blushed a bit, and she ran her hand through her hair in response. "Oh hush." She chuckled playfully, nudging him with her elbow a bit. She wasn't really against the attire, but that was a bit outside the realm of what she usually dealt with. Especially considering she couldn't give a damn half the time. "Like I said, this is going to happen once. Might as well go all out for it... And you, too." She muttered a bit more quietly, before ultimately growing lighthearted again as he wrapped an arm around her waist. Mischievously, she grinned. "So you better enjoy it while you can!"

Still he wanted to do his best in making her happy on her wedding day. He also didn't want her to worry about the things ahead, either. "And that's why I love you." She sighed finally after all he assured her. She was taken care of, and there wasn't a need to worry. "I really do feel like I owe you a big one half the time, you know that?" Whether she did or not was entirely up to the definition of what they were together. That's what fiancées were for, right? Still... At least she had her chance to grant his wishes like he did her.

"You're right though... I need to stop sweating the bridges we haven't crossed yet. " So at the mention of a celebration of sorts, she was more than eager to comply. She raised her hand to run up the length of his arm, to rub lightly at his shoulder."Well..." She smirked. "Y'know... It has been a month... And it's been a bit... Lonely here..." Her voice came barely above a whisper, as her eyes traced up his body. "If you're thinking what I'm thinking, I wouldn't say no to that as a celebration...." She leaned in close to almost kiss him... Until she leaned back, grinning once more. "Unless you want to keep waiting till the day of the wedding, of course." She may have loved him, but that didn't mean she didn't have to be a bit evil.

She couldn’t keep herself from laughing. The look on his face was pricless. In all seriousness though she did feel as though she owed him at least with this for having the bravery to up and ask for her hand. And here, a good amount of months ago, she thought he’d never get so far as to even consider settling down with anyone on the face of the earth. Yet now she was engaged to him, and saw him as the only person she wanted to spend an eternity with.

How the hell did that happen?

The thought amused her as it looked like Carl wasn't giving up. How could she say no to that? "Well damn" Loralei jokingly teased at her little 'punishment' for playing hard to get. Oh well, all to get him to want her more. All part of the plan, as she told herself. "I suppose fair is fair though. I shouldn't torture my fiancé like that. Especially after coming home for war... Hm, guess I really am evil." Her hand then squeezed his briefly before he began to lead her back to the house. This time, they went a bit faster. They had a mission, after all.

As the house came in sight, Loralei turned to look at him with a snide grin. "I wouldn't."
She replied simply to the question for what she'd feel if he did the same to her. "But the question is if you'd really bring yourself to do that." And in just moments after that proposition the genie found herself up the path of the mansion and pulled into the opening of the front door. Once they were sealed from the outside world her words were truly tested, as he asserted just how long he desired for her. And finally, they were truly reuiniting.

"I was hoping you'd say that." With that, Loralei fell right into his embrace. She assisted his hands in gliding over his clothes as she too began to pull at his own. She slammed herself into the door as she pulled him in to take his lips into her own. Her hands traced to his back, placing them gently onto his shoulder blades. A request soon came from his lips, to which she smiled at brightly. No hints of sarcasm or teasing this time. "Hm... Do you honestly want me to talk for hours nonstop?"
She whispered to him, before rubbing her nose on his. "Well, I guess I can give you my abridged version."

With that she pulled him over to a nearby counter, as she hopped up and led him in close. She cupped her hands under his chin, before running her left hand through his blonde hair. "I've missed you every second of every day. I mean... It was fine here on my own but... For once in my life I've felt empty just because someone else wasn't here by my side." She looked away from him then, as if embarrassed by what she just admited. But... This was what it was all about right? They were getting eloped. The least she could do was be comfortable with admitting these things. "So it's safe to say I love you more than I have anything else. I've given you my freedom as a genie, and in return you gave me more freedom than I could have ever imagined. So yeah, I love you a lot. To the moon and back, Carl. And far beyond that." She chuckled warmly, never letting him go. "It just makes me wonder that why, in a world of millions of attractive men and women, you chose me. I never quite understood that."

Now only half dressed, Loralei then proceeded to spice things up a little bit.
