Erione laughed merrily at the jokes. He knew they were being goofy, but that was half the fun. He was entirely capable of being serious and stern. He just didn't like to do that unless it was absolutely necessary.

"Then I guess it's similar in meaning then. We Lumians think of Illumi as being the ultimate enlightened language of Lum. There's a reason schools and places of great talent and knowledge are considered sacred places on Lum," Erione beamed. It was why he had such respect for the Academy here. Even if it technically wasn't a holy place on Earth the Academy served to enlighten those on the island.

"Of course, I love it here. There are so many lovely people and things to learn about. It bums me out that so many people here are hurt or in pain because of their differences but... well maybe that's why they need good people to be here for them,"
Erione answered thoughtfully as he began mindlessly stretching a long piece of pink glass around one of his arms. Like a neverending corkscrew of a bracelet.

"Lum is pretty different than Earth. For one, we don't hide from the humans at all. In fact, it's like a popularity competition for us to convince the humans we are worth their time to worship," he added as he thought back to the real reason he had found himself here the first time. Looking to find others to worship so he could ease some of the competitive pressure on himself. It was a lot of work, even if his personality and style made people tend to like him in general.

Bel sat back on the couch, making herself comfortable as she listened quietly to Erione talk about Lumos and how he found life here on the island.

"You know, things used to be sort of like that here... " she remarked thoughtfully as images of past lives of Beltane flashed and flitted through her mind. Past moments of when the goddess met the villagers and dispensed favours and wisdom daily, of her walking the fields during the Spring with children running behind her, and of Beltane appearing during the festival of Samhain alongside Samhain, himself. as if they were consorts - something that shocked her a little.

"But, I think that somehow things changed over time, and the gods became less popular..." Bel said as she looked at Erione, "though I am not sure why," she added truthfully as weirder images flashed through her mind, but they made less sense. She liked the idea of helping humans and proving she was worthy of them.

Erione seemed to be working his glass without any loss in attention towards their conversation. As he spoke he widened the pink glass that had been looping around his arm and pulled it off. Shaping it into a spiraling cone that effectively looked like one of those modern spiral Christmas trees that would normally have lights on it.

"Yeah, i've read the gods used to be more an actual tangible part of people's daily lives here...," Erione started and then trailed off as he glanced over to see Bel looking a lot like she was lost in thought while she spoke. He wondered if she was speaking from historical knowledge or something more personal. He himself has the memories of his parents that were now effectively his own memories. Which was crazy weird, and possibly uncomfortable for certain things, if you stopped to think about it. But maybe she had something like that too.

He shrugged at Bel and gave her a bright smile. She seemed like she could use more of those. "Either way we're the gods. We do what we think is the right thing to do and they'll either love us for it or... well I don't see why they wouldn't like either of us- we're good people," Erione smiled and began forming little teardrops of colors glass as ornaments on the "tree".

He paused for a moment while looking at her and then added, "sorry if this is rude but you kind of look like something is weighing on you or something. You look like you're staring off into space a bit. Everything ok?"

When Erione spoke again asking if everything was fine or not, Bel realised then that she had been lost in thought and taken away by memories. Flushing slightly, a little embarrassed to have been caught out, she shook her head while brushing a piece of hair out of her eyes.

"Sorry," she started quite apologetically as she glanced at Erione, noting the concern in his tone, "Sometimes my godsight or the memories of past Beltanes suddenly kick in and, well, it's just an odd feeling," she admitted.

"They aren't my memories, but they are in a way, I feel what the others before me felt and remember them as if they were, but I know they aren't too..." she said, trying to explain and hoping she was making sense.

"I just saw something rather unexpected that's all," she confessed sheepishly.

Erione was relieved that nothing was wrong. She was clearly a little embarrassed though so he tried not to let it be that big of a deal. He floated the makeshift glass tree to the nearby table and turned to smile disarmingly at Bel. "Hey, it's ok. I think I understand somewhat," He began as he finished turning in his seat, ending up sitting crosslegged on the couch facing her. Totally comfortable.

"Well," he scratched his head and closed his eyes with a giggle. "Not totally the same. There weren't more Eriones running around. But I *do* have all the memories of my parents now so.... I get it I think." Erione shrugged. It probably wasn't great to try to compare since he knew her experience was probably really disorienting.

He started poking at one of the pins on his shirt. "Do you want to talk about what you saw or should I change the subject to... um, all this snow we're having?" He asked, unsure whether to try to offer to help her or just let it go. It might have been something somewhat private or uncomfortable, after all.

Bel looked at Erione with a look that was both hopeful and curious when he said that he understood what she was talking about. Hearing that he had the memories of both his parents her eyes grew wide in surprise and in instant understanding of what that could mean, and how awkward that could be for him too.

"It was nothing, not really, just..." here Bel paused, she wasn't quite sure she should be sharing her love life with a stranger, though so far Erione seemed to be rather open and understanding about things in general.

"Well, I am dating the Celtic god, Samhain," she explained, "and I just saw a memory of another Beltane, and she was also Samhain's consort," she told him. "It was a surprise I guess to see that this has happened before," she confessed sheepishly.

Erione kind of liked talking to someone who had at least a similar experience to him for a change. He spoke to so many people in so many different situations in his role as a god but this was a little different. Honestly it reminded him of chatting with some of the nicer gods and goddesses back home.

Erione stopped fidgeting with his buttons in response to the pauses, as it seemed like Bel was hesitant to speak about this for whatever reason. Which meant it was definitely important to her so he should make it clear she had his attention. "Oh yeah, I see how that could surprise you a bit," he nodded and gave what he hoped was a reassuring grin. In all honesty Erione had pretty much no personal experience with dating, but with the memories and wisdom given to him through his parents he understood how those kind of relationships worked.

"Well, I hope you two are happy together. You seem like a really nice person so they must be pretty great too," he beamed as he tried to keep her from feeling too awkward about a thing that was clearly a little confusing. It was not his place to comment on whether those two gods were fated to be together or anything like that- their relationship was their own business.

Bel was relieved when Erione seemed to understand quite clearly why what she had seen had seemed a bit unexpected. In fact, the whole exchange with She hadn't had much opportunity to mingle with other gods over the years. She had met once the real goddess, Beltane and she had also met briefly Yule, but aside from Samhain, Bel didn't really socialize with other gods that often.

"Thanks, I hope so too," she confessed, "Sam is a great guy. Quite unassuming as gods go," she said.

"How about you?" Bel asked him curiously, "Do you have somebody special in your life?" she said thinking that Erione was really sweet, kind and very cute. She could easily see him having a girlfriend or boyfriend.

Erione was so glad she had found someone that she seemed to like so much, whether it was fate or coincidence or anything didn't matter in the slightest. "Well, please tell him if he needs anything made of glass i'm around," he said and then burst into laughter. "Sorry, couldn't resist a bit of a sales pitch." Honestly Erione would happily give gifts of glass to almost everyone on the island. The only people he wouldn't were ones that were mean, hurtful or treated him poorly. He'd struggled mightily with whether or not to make one for Aedes after she had been so terribly rude to everyone.

Sometimes the appreciation wasn't worth it.

He shrugged and closed his eyes with a tiny sigh. "No, not like you mean. I've got tons of friends and worshipers and angels and all that I consider very special though," he answered very earnestly. And then he opened his eyes again and was the same happy boy from before. Would he enjoy having a boyfriend or girlfriend? Yes, absolutely. But he had time and it wasn't something he could force. He'd just keep being himself and maybe somewhere along the way some sort of romantic attraction might develop with someone.

Bel laughed, "Nothing wrong with furthering your cause a little," she smiled when Erione jokingly offered his glassmaking services to her and Sam.

For some reason, Bel was surprised to hear that Erione didn't have a significant other. She would have easily guessed that he had someone. "Well, to be honest, the best relationships are quite often the most unexpected ones. The ones where that person just appears out of the blue and everything just seems to fall into place," she said with an understanding smile. Definitely agreeing with the idea of not forcing things, and believing wholehearted that when it's meant to happen, it usually will.
