It was then when Kiroku came to realize something... "Wait a moment, does it mean they too are...", but before he could finish the thought process, Kabano was ahead. "Yes, they too may look human, but in truth they are not. And Shinme is a specially interesting case... He's my son. Literally.", and when Shinme too briefly revealed himself as Symlink, even politely and eagerly introducing himself as such, Kiroku seemed not surprised much surprised, but rather amused, specially when Kabano added that "He's just 10 months old."

Kiroku looked at Izumi, Rin, and Shinme up close, specially Shinme. "10 months...", Kiroku pondered, not certain on how confusing the explanation would be, but then moved his curious eyes to Izumi and Rin, "About Izumi-san and Rin-chan...". Kabano soon replied: "I see them as family too. Izumi as my big sis, Rin as my little sis and niece."

Kiroko quickly caught on to the rest of them and at this point Izumi was just going to go with the flow.

"Well I'm 332 years old if you were wondering." cheekily replied Izumi whom does away with their charm, revealing a pair or rounded ears and bushy ringed tail.

"Oh wait... we are doing this? Finally." commented Rin who does the same and remove her charm, showing of her ears and tail just like her mother.

"We have been taking care of each other since Kabano, or Yakou rather, stumbled into me needing a home and figuring out his new life." explained Izumi whom placed her charm back on, returning to human appearance.

"Rin put you charm back on as we don't to explain your ears and tail in case someone comes barging through the door or peeking through any window." ordered Izumi.

"Can't I just say I'm just cosplayer? People would believe that if they asked right?" countered Rin as she rubs her ears.

"Riinnn..."

"... fine..." Rin relented and place the charm back on, taking on their previous human form.

"Kitsune and Tanuki living under the same roof then? That must be complicated to explain...", Kiroku may be accepting things too easily, but then again he just found out his nephew has come back from the dead, and had proof of that, washing him with relief.

"We often make jokes about that, uncle. But we do get along really.", Kabano kept a lot of his composure despite the implication that they could have an unexpected guest, which so far he deemed unlikely, given that he was alert enough for that, and his ability could help him mask everyone in a hurry.

"Must be quite bothersome to have to disguise like that, but I can see why. If what Kabano implies is that serious, nothing good would come from walking in public without a disguise. But I wonder, doesn't Shinme or Kabano feel uncomfortable either?", Kiroku looked their way with slight concern, while Shinme gave a look of pure obliviousness and innocence., and Kabano simply gave a happy sigh and responded: "You have no idea how I longed to be human even if for a day... Or a week."

"That we do." piped up Izumi wearing a smirk "Oh it not much of bother to me when it comes to a life in disguise. It comes naturally to us Tanuki."

Izumi then looks to Neon with face with a studious gaze, never have known his desires to becoming human once more. While she was aware of those with the power to potential grant that which Neon longed, she did not know what cost it would come.

"Well I suppose this will be the closest to you being human human once again. Might as well make the most of this time spent here considering the trouble we went through to even come here."

"I mean, you four must live using less disguises or something, since coming here disguised and keeping the disguise is so important.", Kiroku addressed their answers, with Kabano agreeing with a few nods. "Although, you know, sis... At the same time I love the family I have now.", Kabano added. As time had passed, they ran low on sweets and drink, but perhaps it was about time anyways...

"So, how are your studies?", Kiroku expected Rin and Shinme to answer, but Kabano did so first. "Ah, worse I got is a B, but I often stick in the A range, leaning toward A+ and- Ah- this was meant for the kids.", once he realized that, Kabano laughed, embarrassed. "Hm... I think my average is A-, with B being my worst... Dad helps me study, but I am struggling with a few subjects.", Shinme answered.

Ah the old man was sharper than he looked as he pieced together they came from somewhere where such disguises where not the norm. Still she was reluctant to divulge any more information than is needed. Even Kiroku proved himself trustworthy, it was still probably best they leave him in the dark on certain details.

"I wish some of my students had good grades such as yours." spoke Izumi as she adjusted her glances, side-eying Rin "As well as certain daughter of mine."

This comment frazzles Rin whom quickly counts "Hey I'm a B student!"

Izumi just smirks and chuckles while Rin just rolls her eyes.

"Nothing to be ashamed of. I used to be a B student myself. But truth be told, I used to skip a few classes to hang around with the local delinquents. They may have had a bad rep with authority, but they were the go-to crew when any help was needed. Even with studies, actually, even if most of them barely got anywhere above D.", Kiroku admitted with a chuckle, "The hard work paid off by the end- Kabano, you didn't tell them, did you?"

What was it he didn't tell? Well... "Uncle used to work in the brewing and selling of saké after finishing school. He passed for a few of the top universities of Japan, but couldn't afford it back then, so he borrowed a friend's brewery and with him they produced and sold a lot of them. It's from there that he got his drinking habits, but from what my father told me... His Saké was second to none for a decade or two.", Kabano explained.

"And now I'm too old and don't have as much money anymore to enter those universities, so decided to stick to home and get the shop back up.", Kiroku concluded.

"Ah I suppose there is hope for you yet Rin." joked Izumi.

As Kabano spoke about Kiroku's younger days, her eyes light up at the mention of alcohol.

"Sake?" perked Izumi as she eyes Kiroku with a cheeky grin "You wouldn't happen to some some of your famous sake around for sampling now hrrmm?"

Izumi then cranes her head slight forward, resting her chin on one of her hands.

"Well it still impressive that you were looked upon so favorably that even the top universities would consider you. Its never too late to further your education no matter your age. Though... finances have always been a barrier."

Kabano briefly had an expression that hinted Kiroku has just met his match. "Oh, yes, unopened for whoever knows long... It was literally the last one I made. I was saving it for when Yakou graduated, you know, something that important... But this is more important, I do say!", there was no sadness to bring up Yakou's name, now that he knew the truth of his nephew who transcended his human soul.

"At least he'll bring children sugar, smiles and joy with the reopening of the store.", Kabano laughed a bit, with Kiroku joining him. "Now, excuse me for a moment, I need to bring the Ol' Ten Blossoms to the table.", after leaving his seat, Kiroku headed upstairs. "He hasn't been this happy since he learned he'd become an uncle... At least according to what my parents told me.", Kabano remarked.

"Yes I do say this is a special occasion deserving of special bottle." spoke Izumi, agreeing with Kiroku that today was day to celebrate with a vintage sake. Totally for his reunion with his nephew and not in any way over her inner desire to try this fabled sake.

"Ah yes, I suppose there is nothing sweeter in life than bring happiness to children. Well so long as Kiroku does what he enjoys then all is well in the end." as Kiroku left to grab the sake, Izumi looked to Kabano with a curious eye "Oh is that? Well he has every reason to be happy. Knowing that you are still alive released a great burden of guilt from his shoulders."

Now that she thought of it... this might have been the first time he mentioned anything of his parents to her. Given that it was his uncle whom raised him, she imagined there must have been some tragedy in the past. Whatever it was... she declined to ask more as this was to be a joyous occasion.
