Alexavier was sitting on the thick stone wall of one of the balconies, back slumped against the edge of the school for support. He had been in the ballroom, where it was nice and warm and pretty much everything that the ledge was not, but people - girls - kept coming in and dancing until someone noticed them. He'd been horribly confused for more then a bit, but then he'd remembered that the Fall thing was in less then two weeks, and he supposed it was the only thing they hadn't tried.
In truth, it reminded him a bit of birds, flapping their plumage to attract the attention a prospective mate. Although, usually, it was the males who did the dancing, and the admirer was actually present. Come to think of it, maybe that was why they kept looking at him... His head sprung up at this thought, and he wondered for a moment if he shouldn't go back in and apologize to the latest dancer for walking out on her mid-display. It wasn't at all that she wasn't perfectly wonderful at dancing, he was just trying to read, and her music was much too loud to ignore.
He craned his neck towards the huge doors, trying to spot the girl to determine the best course of action. There she was, talking to a tall-ish brown haired guy. So the dancing thing worked... Wow. He shook his head in disbelief, opening his thick book again and flipping through it to find his place. The females who'd streamed in were all more of a nusance then anything else, he had to admit. Pretty much all they did was giggle and do stretches in the tightest clothes they owned until they finally realized no one was watching and stormed out. If he heard another giggle, he swore he was going to kill someone.
He glanced back into the brightly lit ballroom, just catching the happy couple exiting the room, a giggle and a snatch of Mozart's Für Elise floating back on the air. He wasn't even sure if that was actually a song best suited for dancing, but he supposed it'd worked well enough for them. He shrugged, thinking about going back inside but deciding against it. The next girl'd probably be in in a few seconds, anyway. He sighed, turning back to his book yet again.
