"Taste them for what?" she'd ask, raising an eyebrow, watching as the tiny girl nibbled on the needle and then watching as she conjured tiny copies of the objects. "Whoa....that's so cool," she'd lean down, looking at the tiny ball of yarn and needles. "You're just full of surprises aren't you?"

Leaning back she'd pick her needles. "Ok, follow me, I'll go slow," the goth girl would show her how to begin, giving her instructions and pinters as they went. "With me teaching you you'll eventually be able to make some clothes for yourself."

"Remember, patience," she'd say with a smile, "it can take a while to get the hang of it."

Flutterpip giggled with Shiro's surprise, "My mom says sometimes I am full of something else... How do you think I learned to make all my popcorns, recipes? I'm not sure how I can use this in my popcorn," with a flair of her horn, a spiky piece of popcorn appeared.

She giggled some more as she looked at it, "maybe to keep my mom from eating my popcorn." With another flair and it was gone.

She settled down and watched Shiro, doing her best to mimic her moves. The first attempts were pretty bad. A couple of times, she had to unravel it and start all over. There were a few times she flew up to Shiro's work to examine it more closely.

When Shiro mentioned making her clothes, she grinned, "Oh, that would be nice! Most of the clothes here, my size are pretty bad."

Then Shiro had to say the 'P' word, the one thing Flutterpip lacked the most. But she knew that was what she needed the most. Oh, well, at least this might be a fun way to learn patience.

Finally, Success! It did not look as pretty as Shiro's, nor did it look like anything Flutterpip could recognize, but, at least it was holding together.

Flutterpip was so focused on what she was doing; she did not hear the knock at the door.

A female voice from the other side of the door said, "Manta Carlos Police, Ms. Shiro, may we come in?"

Outside was one of Manta Carlos City's finest trying to calm a very distraught mother.

She'd tilt her head. "Sounds like we have some visitors," she'd set her knitting project down in front of the small girl so she could take closer look at it. "I'll be right back hon," she'd stand, stepping over to the door and opening it.

"Hello officer," she'd look to the mother, "and you must be Flutter's mother." she'd motion to the tiny knitting girl. "I found her about to wander out of the school, she said she was going to run away," she was speaking so that only the officer and Flutter's mother could hear. "She's been playing video games and try her hand at knitting."

"Anyways, come in," she'd let them in, happy that Flutter's mom wouldn't have to worry, at least for the time being, she had a feeling that Flutter would try this again.

Flutterpip was so engrossed and enjoying learning how to knit. She completely ignored what was going on elsewhere. Studying Shiro's work, she found a bunch of mistakes Flutterpip had made. Unraveling her knitting, she started all over. She knitted some than compared her work to Shiro's. Her knitting was looking much better. The routine became: knit a little, compare to Shiro's work, then repeat.

Naisis just stood there watching her little one knitting away as nothing happened and in a stranger's house - well - room. She had worried about Flutterpip's trusting nature, but that might be her saving grace.

Just hours ago, she broke her little one's heart, and now it was her turn to have her heartbroken.

Barely loud enough to be heard, "Flutterpip?" With regret and apprehension in her voice, she wondered if her little one would forgive her?

Flutterpip stopped what she was doing ahs sat up straight with her ears focused behind her. With a flurry of needles, yarn, lickerish, and string cheese, she spun around and flew towards her mother, "Mommy!"

As she got close to Naisis, she could see apprehension and a little fear in her eyes. Concerned, she asked, "are you ok?"

There were so many emotions churning inside at the moment she was an emotional wreck. When Flutter asked if she was ok, that pushed her over the edge. The tears started to flow as she took her little one into her arms and held her to her breasts.

"I am now." A little choked up, "I thought I had lost you."

"You will never lose me. You will always be my mom."

Naisis closed her eyes and sighed as the tears flowed freely. Why she was blessed with Flutterpip, she would never know but was glad she was.

Freeing Flutterpip, she smiled while wiping her eyes, "Ok, get your stuff, and let's go home." She had enough emotions to last her a lifetime.

"Oh, mom, I would like to meet a friend." Flying over to Shiro, "This is Shy Row. She is nice. She let me play games and showed me how to knit." Flying down, she got her knitting and showed it to Naisis, bursting with pride.

"See! This is," she paused when she realized she did not know what it was. Looking over to Shiro, she asked, "what are we knitting?"

She couldn't help but smile when they were reunited, it was heartwarming to see the mother and daughter back together. "I'm Shiro," she'd say with a chuckle and Flutterpip introduced her. "It's good to meet you ma'am."

The cat girl would chuckle. "We were making mittens, getting ready for winter," she'd smile at the tiny girl. "Once you get the hang of it you could make your own clothes," it was a nice constructive hobby to have.

Shiro would look back to Naisis. "Would you like some tea?" she'd ask with a smile.

Upon hearing what they were making, Flutterpip took up her knitting and gave it a lookover. No matter how she twisted and turned it, it did not look anything like mittens.

"So the string cheese and licorice might not be a good idea," with a flair of her horn, the licorice and string cheese disappeared.

Naisis found the nearest chair and plopped into it, both physically and emotionally exhausted.

"Naisis and thank you for caring for my little one."

She offered Shiro her hand, the one with the shifter bracelet on it.

She smiled when Shiro offered her tea, "Yes, thank you." What she forgot to mention was it should be decaffeinated. Caffeine had a different effect on Anicorns; it stimulated the emotions. And right now, her emotions did not need stimulation.

Luckily for Nasis the cat girl was a recovered caffeine addict and only drank decaffeinated. "You're very welcome ma'am,"she'd pour a cup of tea, bringing it over to her. "She's a sweet girl, couldn't let her just go wandering off."

She'd then grab a tiny metal cup, making sure it was clean and pouring Flutter some tea as well. "She seems to like knitting, I wouldn't mind continuing to teach her," she'd hand Flutter the tiny cup. "Who knows, maybe I can get her into reading for fun," she'd say with a giggle.

"So, you two are new to the island?" she'd ask with a thoughtful hum. "It's an interesting place, you'll both love it."

Naisis accepted the tea but remembered she said nothing about caffeine. Looking at the tea, she shrugged, decided a little caffeine could not hurt, and it would be rude to reject it now, "Thank you."

"That she is, but she does have this tendency to wander off," remembering their first day here.

Flutterpip perked up grinned when she realized they were talking about her. He grin became lopsided when Naisis mentioned her wanderlust. She accepted the cup while giving her mom an odd look.

Naisis looked at her little one and added, "but, that is just Flutter. She would make friends with everyone."

Flutter muttered into her cup, "not that cat or Azure."

Finding something that would keep flutter busy and something she seemed to enjoy was a delight to Naisis, "Please do. She likes making things."

Shiro's remark about reading for fun caused Flutter to give her a sour look, but did get a chuckle out of Naisis, "good luck." Now Naisis was getting that sour look.

"Yes, we have been here for about three weeks. It has been - eventful, "thinking about all the mishaps, including this one they have had. She also thought about all the new friends they have found.

Naisis gave a chuckle as interesting would not be the word she would use. "Compared to the Subliminal, this place is...."

Flutterpip piped up in a sing-songy way, "boring!"

Naisis was surprised, "Flutterip!"

"Well, it is."

She'd giggle. "Don't worry hon," she'd say to Flutter, "this island is amazing, give it time, you'll grow to love it." She'd tilt her head. "In the meantime, we can get together for sewing lessons, I'll help you practice."

The cat girl would sip her tea. "As for the reading, I'll find us some fun books to try," she'd say with a grin. "Don't worry, there's some great stories, they're good entertainment for when you get bored....unless you'd rather be bored?" she'd ask with a smirk.

Shiro would hum in thought. "You mentioned something called Subliminal?" she'd ask curiously, "is that a place?"

Flutter shrugged at Shiro's comment about liking this place but really brighten up when she mentioned sewing lessons. Although her magic was cool, there was something about making things with her hands that was more satisfying.

Flutter had finished her tea and was working on her mittens. No matter what she did, it did not look like a mitten.

Putting down her knitting, she sighed and muttered, "maybe on how to make mittens."

What? Reading again? Shiro had this thing about reading and books, but so did Naisis. Flutter frowned until Shiro mentioned being bored. There were plenty of times she was bored almost to tears. Maybe this reading thing might not be as bad as she had thought. Ok, she would give Shiro the benefit of the doubt and try it out.

It was Flutter that enthusiastically replied to Shiro's question. "Oh! It is way cool! It is made from dreams. You should go there."

Naisis chuckled at her enthusiasm, "It is a dimension on the other side of the Dream Realm."

From the time she entered Shiro's room, Naisis has been picking up the very faint scent of a cat. Although it was faint, it was strong enough not to be a chance happening. She got up and headed to the kitchen area with her cup. As she passed Shiro, she asked, "can I see you in the kitchen?"

Flutter heard but decided it was adult stuff.
