Eein wasn't sure what to expect when he came here, he disliked the idea of going to therapy and so he never went. That said, he knew he wasn't expecting this door, which looked like the entrance to Dacula's castle or something like that. He'd squint at the door, poking at one of the gargoyles on top.

Satisfied the door wasn't going to try to eat him, he'd take a hold of the door and open it. Stepping inside his blue eyes quickly landed on who he assumed was his therapist. They looked odd, like a black knight, any other time he'd think he looked cool, at the moment it just seemed weird.

"Uh....I'm Eein.....Eein Dresden? I have an appointment?" he'd say, stepping fully inside and glancing around, "should I just take a seat?" He felt awkward, he knew the guy had been given info on him, which made it seem worse.

Aeron was leaned back ever so slightly in his chair, one leg crossed over his opposite knee. His hands steepled together on his chest in a vaguely menacing way. If it weren't for the fact that he was wearing corduroy pants and a polo shirt and that the room smelled like freshly brewed tea, he might have actually been an intimidating sight.

"Ah yes, hello young mister Dresden. Come in, have a seat. There's tea if you would like some. It's a blend I've come to love here, does wonders for stuffy sinuses."

With the offering of tea out of the way, Aeron set both feet firmly on the floor and leaned forward. "My name is Aeron Douglas, and I will be your therapist for this session. And possibly others if you feel comfortable with me. I am more than aware that my appearance is unsettling for some people. I assure you if I could remove my helmet, I would.

"You may or not may know how all this works, so let me walk you through a few of the typical disclaimers. Barring a situation where you are an immediate danger to yourself or others, nothing you say to me will leave this office. I also won't acknowledge you as one of my clients unless you acknowledge me first. Your privacy, being part of your well being, is my primary concern."

"Other than that," he continued, gesturing broadly to the room and Eein himself, "this is an opportunity for you to talk about whatever you like, completely confidentially. Get a secondary viewpoint, one removed from the expectations and preconceptions of people you know. Do you have any questions before we begin?"

"Uh....just Eein," he'd say stepping fully into the room, his nose picking up the scent of the tea but deciding against having any for now.

"Eh," he'd shrug and take a seat, "I turn into a giant reptile, you're not really unsettling." He'd tilt his head, "you do kinda look like a knight though, so shouldn't we be enemies?" he'd say jokingly, more him trying to relieve his nerves than anything else.

The young dragon would listen as he explained the basics to therapy sessions, the fact info about him wouldn't be shared was nice. "No uh...I'm ready," at least as ready as he was ever going to be.

Aeron let out a boistrous laugh that sounded far more sinister than it had any right to be. And did the lights dim a little bit when he did? Or was it just a trick? Whichever, he stopped and picked up his coffee cup to have a sip through the slits in his helmet. "I suppose I was a knight. But that was several lifetimes ago."

He was ready? Aeron wondered about that, but didn't say anything. People were consistently wrong about how ready they were to confront the things that troubled them. Especially here on Manta Carlos, where for a lot of people facing down a deadly enemy was easier for them than opening up to their feelings.

"Alright," he said with a nod. He didn't need a clip board. He would remember. "Go ahead. Just talk about whatever comes to mind. It doesn't have to be in a particular order."

It was strange, the weird laugh and the possibly flickering lights kinda made him feel at least slightly less awkward. Plus the aesthetics were cool, at least he thought they were.

"I......," what came to his mind, a lot of things were popping up, his mind was swirling with thoughts and emotions. "I don't know.....don't know what I'm doing anymore," he'd finally say after a moment of silence.

"Was already feeling......kinda stuck? Or something stupid like that," he was somewhat talking on autopilot, wasn't even sure if any of it was making sense. "Coming here was already weird...and....and promises were made.....it all moved fast....and then didn't seem to move at all."

Aeron just listened, and in listening learned a lot and very little simultaneously. He waited for a pause in the stream of words before he spoke up.

"So from what I can gather... you're a recent immigrant to the island. Hoping that a change of scenery would pull you out of the funk you've found yourself in. New faces. New experiences. But you've found that you're stuck with much of the same?"

At least, Aeron thought that was a fairly accurate restructuring of what Eein had told him. "What specifically were you hoping to change, Eein? And what about your situation hasn't changed in the way you had hoped?"

"I....I came here because there was no other place to go." There wasn't a lot of places a young supernatural being could go, especially one who's parent died like his. "I thought I'd.....I'd make him proud," that's what he'd promised his dad.

"I was adopted by his clan.....they wanted to make things right." His guardian was kind, treated him like family, so he tried to live up to his father's legacy. "Wanted to....I don't know...prove myself to them....earn my keep?" none of them had demanded such a thing, just himself.

"Mom and dad....they deserved so much more...and now I have that."

Aeron nodded slowly, tapping his thumbs together thoughtfully. He could piece things together from there. His parents were dead. He had been adopted into a new family. More dragons? Was it obvious that Eein was a dragon? It was to him, but sometimes Aeron couldn't tell what was just obvious and what was his Mastermind skill filling in gaps that he shouldn't have been able to.

"I think the first and most important thing that you need to reaffirm to yourself is that what happened to your parents is not your fault, Eein. I know in the wake of a tragedy, it can be easy to feel guilt or to wonder why things turned out the way they did. Why you came out alright when others did not."

The glow of his eyes behind his helmet's visor dimmed slightly, the closest thing to closing that they could do.

"You are a child, Eein. You don't have to earn your keep. You don't have to justify your existence to anyone."

"But...it was...," he'd say, looking down. "I was already smaller and weaker than both my parents were at my age....mom was a master mage.....both their dragon form's were giant..," this was so hard for him to say, but at this point it was already flowing out. "If I'd study her magic more....trained harder....I could've protected them."

He'd mentally told himself so many times that he'd never talk to a therapist, tell him about his emotions, yet here he was. Even a few years were starting to pop up, he'd had a lot of emotions build up.

"I feel like I do though," he'd run his hands through his hair. "My dad...he was an exile from the clan that took me in....exiled for bad reasons....but still an exile," he knew the clan members on the island accepted him, but he still had that nagging feeling. "I'm....the son of an exile...I'm proud of my dad...but I still have to prove myself."

"I'm going to stop you there," Aeron said, readjusting in his seat so that he could focus a bit more on what he wanted to say.

"I see two major issues here, that you are currently dealing with. I want to try and tackle each one in turn. Please feel free to stop or correct me if I am ever off base or incorrect in my assumptions or if I make you too uncomfortable."

"I am sorry that you suffered such loss. You have fairly strong memories of your parents, yes? Tell me, if you could ask them, what do you think they would say to the statement, 'I should have been stronger so that I could protect you'?"
