Private Finished He be a weird boi

Nix's voice was still a little bit shaky and weird but Luna was glad he was calming down some. He seemed glad for her offer of help, even if he had denied it for the time being. Luna stayed silent then, content with just the quiet. She squeezed a little tighter on his torso.

After a while though, she had an idea. Her mother used to sing her a lullaby when she was younger to calm her down...maybe it would help Nix if she hummed or sang it? ...Nah, she'll sing it. With little confidence, but with all the lyrics in her mind, she quietly began singing.

"...T-time stood still for a while, your hand was holding mine. The stars that shined in your eyes...don't let them go by."

Confidence was growing some, but her voice still shook a little.

"Fly on you golden child, and take on your fears. I'll be with you in your dreams...the world is darker than it seems."

With a quiet breath out, Luna sang a few more verses.

"...And I'll be waiting for the light that guides us through the worst of nights...And I'll be waiting for a sign you're coming back, and you have found your path..."

The lullaby continued, albeit with a few lyrics changed to fit what was going on now. Luna's voice never grew louder, but it did start to have a happy tone to it. She didn't mean to do that, but she did hope it added to help Nix be happy again.

Well shit. "U-uh...hold on, it's fine, calm down haha-"

Oh why did you have to get an oven that got progressively louder?

"...Yeah I'm going to go get that...gimme a minute..." she said as she gently let go of Nix and got up. It certainly smelled burnt...but who knows, maybe that smell was from little crumbs that came off the last pizza? Luna can't help but be a little hopeful. She ran into the kitchen in a panic and shut the damn oven up with a click of the nob, and opened the door carefully. Smoke was indeed coming out of it, although it wasn't much. Luna sighed loudly.

"Sorry Nix, I uh...burnt the pizza. Maybe it's still a little salvageabl-"

Then she saw the card Nix gave her on the counter and froze, "Fuck, I forgot about the card..."

As soon as she said that, she turned towards the living room hoping to whatever god that existed there that Nix did not hear that. Ooooh the blush and panic on her face must've been reeeeeally obvious.

Luna straightened reeeeally slowly and cleared her throat. "Y-yeah...it was- wait a minute. 'Espressive'? Really?"

She couldn't help but laugh a little. "I'm sorry, THAT was bad, hehehe," and then she went silent after that. She was not sure what to do honestly...Luna reached over and took the card off the counter and stared at it. She kept looking between it and Nix, debating...

Do I really have to decide now..? I thought I'd have more time to think...

You know if you waited any longer you'd say the same thing right? Your procrastination problem is baaaaad.

...For once, you have a point.

"I-I'm...uh," jeez, tomato face much? "I u-uhm...I-I'll be honest, I haven't felt any sort of care like this from someone in a long time, or maybe I just didn't let myself feel it. Not from parents or friends...I don't know man...I'm scared I guess? ...That sounds silly. I'm just worried that the same thing that happened before will happen again you know?"

Luna looked at the floor for a brief moment, thinking. But then she smiled, realization dawning on her face. That feeling from earlier... "B-but you know what? Maybe I should trust the world again..."

She looked back up into Nix's eyes, and the grin on his face couldn't do anything BUT make her smile wider. "So...why the hell not? I-I uh... like you a latte too."
