Happy Birthday and Happy Holidays? No...

Sonlath barked at her lightly almost as if he understood her trying to get out what was wrong before nuzzling himself into her hand again by instinct and the enjoyment of the feeling of having his ear panpered and scratched

Cordelia raised an eyebrow somewhat when he barked at her. Maybe he did understand... well, what could it hurt to explain what was wrong anyway? If he could figure out what she was saying, it wasn't like he could tell anyone. She stopped scratching behind his ear, and just stroked the top of his head for a while before she actually started speaking.

"Fine, I'll tell you. It isn't like you can tell anyone anyway..." she said softly. "I'll give you the short version so that I don't bore you to death. Anyway..." the woman paused for a moment. Was she really about to tell this to a dog? Unbelievable. "My birthday was a few days ago, and I haven't aged a bit. I'm never going to age, I'm never going to change at all... and then, of course, I have to kill to live, which means I have to cause other people the same pain I've gone though. The 'gift' of being a vampire. Gift my foot..." She stopped petting his head and wrapped her other arm around her legs again, resting her forehead on her knees, looking just like she had before Artimist and Sonlath showed up.

"And it's going to be my first Christmas without my husband and my kid. They died a few months ago... and sometimes I wonder if becoming a vampire was my punishment for trying to bring them back to life." Her voice cracked when she said that, and she went silent. "And that's the end, I'm not saying anything more."

Sonlath blinked...his curiousity gone he backed away a little bit. And transformed back into his human self. "So thats what you didn't want to tell me?" He asked shyly not really embarassed but he felt sorry for her. He never did have a family to lose...yet she lost one and he wouldent ever have the feeling probobly...he stared at her ashamed knowing he did something wrong but he only wanted her to feel better...and now he knew it was her birthday aswell...thats what drew him here probobly he came to make her feel better...9

"So thats what you didn't want to tell me?"

Cordelia's dark blue eyes widened when she heard that voice, and she turned her head around. Her own little brother... he could turn into a wolf now? She didn't really care, that was fine with her... but he'd used that to make her tell him the truth? That's what she thought, anyway. She hadn't thought he had wanted her to feel better, that thought hadn't even crossed her mind. She looked away, shoulders shaking a little bit and she rested her head against her knees, making sure to hide her face.

She'd been an idiot. She wasn't trusting dogs again, that was for sure. She just couldn't believe her own brother would do that just to get her to tell him that.... sure, they were related, but even so, she didn't want people knowing that. "Y... yeah..." she said, her voice cracking again. "That's... that's what I didn't want to tell you..."

She sighed inwardly at the fact that her voice was cracking. It only happened when she was really upset... which, of course, she was right now. Her family was dead just in time for the holidays, she was a vampire, and her brother had kind of been lying to her. She wasn't angry with him... just... surprised. But she'd get over it, since Sonlath was the only family she had left and if she couldn't trust him... then who could she trust?

Sonlath walked over to her slowly since he wasn't sure if she was angry...sad...or something...and he was only trying to make her feel better and maybe letting it out finally would help...9

She could tell he was walking toward her, she didn't need to lift up her head again to be able to tell. "I'm not mad at you, if that's what you think..." she said quietly, trying not to let her voice crack, but it did. "But why did you do that? Why did you take on another form and lie to me? I don't exactly need the only real family I have left to be deceiving me right now." Cordelia didn't lift her head as she spoke, and her voice was somewhat muffled due to the fact that her head was right against her legs and that her arms were around her. Deep down, she knew she never would have said anything to him if he was in his normal human form, but still, the fact that he had still done that was... well, it had hurt her somewhat. "Did you REALLY want to know that badly?"

She shook her head. She closed her eyes, having felt tears starting to rise. There was just too much going on... she wasn't going to cry, though, she would force herself not to. Cordelia hadn't cried in a long time, and she didn't plan on doing that right now. Even if it might make her feel better, she wasn't going to allow those tears to fall from her eyes. She just wasn't.

"Today...you seemed well...diffrent."

Well, of course she seemed different today. It was one of the few days where she actually let what had happened to her get her depressed. She had a reply to what he had just said, but she figured it was somewhat rude, so she didn't bother saying it. She just wasn't in the mood to be mean to people, especially not her little brother.

"Yeah... I am different today..." Cordelia said softly. "So, why are you still here if you already got the information?" she asked. It may have sounded rude to him, she didn't know, but she was only curious as to why he was there if she had told him about her past.

Cordelia looked at him out of the corner of her eye when he came and sat near her side. It surprised her somewhat; she had expected him to just leave. After all, he hadn't been too nice (in her opinion) when she had first met him, what was stopping him from just walking away now?

"I dont know...I Just kind of...well felt you were sad or something I dont know."

She blinked, though she wasn't sure if it could be seen. "You.... you care that I'm sad? Is that what you're saying?" she asked softly; not rudely, just amazed. He'd tried to run away when she had tried to take care of him, and it had seemed to her that he had wanted nothing to do with her. It was somewhat shocking...
