She was still immersed in the memory, but was very, very skilled at slipping on a cheerful exterior. So believable, that it reached her eyes. "Right. So.. Something nice and easy... What was the strangest thing you ever kissed?" she asked, her voice cheerful and strongly Nikki once again.

She cocked her head to the side in a cute way as she waited for him to answer. In the background, she was shoving the memory back where it belonged. She was just glad that he didn't inquire further. On the upside, if he ever got too touchy feely, and she pushed him away, he'd at least know that it wasn't him.

Donovan thought for a minute. The weirdest thing he'd ever kissed? Oooh...she'd get a kick out of this one! A devilish smile spread across his lips as he looked up at her. He had to create some dramatic suspense before answering.
One Mississippi.
Two Mississippi.
Three Mississippi.
Four Mississ-
Okay! That's enough.
A man.
Was I your first kiss? he asked with a wink.

She smiled slightly at his answer. Somehow, that didn't surprise her. And then her smile grew with his question. All the dares rushed into her mind. She'd kissed an old man, the guy she'd had a crush on, a girl, a cat, a dog, a bird, and many other things, all because she'd been dared. The more she thought, the wider her grin became. She waited for a while, and then said with a giggle, "Nope," but didn't say anything further on the subject, hoping to make him curious. She also didn't add that he was her only kiss that wasn't a dare.

"What is..." she thought for a moment, "The most interesting piece of trivia you know?"

Donovan shrugged he wasn't much the trivia fellow. He sat up and said the most well known bit of random trivia he could think of.
The boy seahorse has the babies.
He moved in his seat a little thinking of the pros and cons of his next question.
She could slap him. Con.
Or
He could be on to something. Pro!
He scooted over closer to her, very un-stealthy like and put an arm around her shoulders leaning close to her ear.
Are you secretly in love with me?

He scooted close to her, and then put her arm around her shoulder, his breath tickling her neck. The color rose in her cheeks slightly, and she turned, placing a hand on his cheek. She smiled sweetly, looking into his eyes. "Not really." she said, rubbing his cheek thoughtfully. Then she dropped her hand and smiled, even though she knew her cheeks were still slightly pink.

"Are you?" she asked, smiling up at him, trying not to think about how close to her he was.

Donovan leaned down and kissed her forehead. He pulled back and smiled at her.
You, my dear, will find that out in time. he said and stood stretching as he walked towards the door. When he reached it he stopped and turned a hand on the side of the door.
until next time, Darling. he said and with that turned and exited.

((Time skippy?))

Nikki shook her head as he left, curiousity as to what his answer was, and why he'd avoided the answer. She didn't have a chance to think about it a lot, because her friends decended upon her, showering her with questions about Donovan, most of which she laughed off.

TIME JUMP!!!!!!

Hours later, Nikki finally managed to escape her friend's pestering, and had decided to enjoy the dusk beneath a tree. She'd changed her clothes into something more comforable, and her hair was out of it's ponytail, blowing freely in the slight breeze. The earphones of her cdplayer hung around her neck, Enya playing quietly, completeing the peace of the evening. The wind rustled the newly formed leaves, and she closed her eyes, enjoying the sounds and smells of spring.

Donovan was sitting in a tree chewing on an apple when when he heard a rustle under the tree and saw Nikki sit down underneath it. He smiled and stood up setting the apple down on a nearby tree branch and grabbing a flower blossom from the tree's limbs and silently down the branches. He reached the lowest branch and crouched down hooking his knees around it and swining down in front of him with the flower in hand.
He grinned and held the flower out
A flower, for a flower.

Nikki looked up and smiled at him, trying not to laugh. She reached out a hand and took the flower, sticking it behind her ear. "You need to work on your pick-up lines, hun." she said sweetly, cocking her head to the side. She stood, and put a hand on either side of his face in a gentle manner. "The question is, why did you dodge my question?" she smiled, eyes sparkling mischieviously, Enya still playing from the earphones around her neck.

She almost wanted to kiss him, and the thought brought a light tinge of pink to her cheeks, but other than that, her facial expression didn't alter. She wondered what it would feel like to kiss him upside down, but quickly shook the thought from her mind, waiting for his answer.

Donovan pulled himself up and grabbed the branch unhooked his knees and dropped to the ground and turned to face her. He looked at her and smiled. She looked really nice in this lighting. He gently grabbed a piece of her hair and twirled it between his fingers. He looked down at the hair for a moment before directing his eyes back to her.
You look nice, tonight. he said and dropped her hair walking over to the base of the tree and sitting down looking up at her.
Now, what question is it that you are talking about, Miss?
