Janette blushed. "I'm Janette." she said quietly, meeting his eyes for just a moment before looking down.

Nikki continued to smile placidly, the fight for control, to not laugh, barely visible to the average eye. It would take somebody very observant to notice her shoulders moving, or just how much her eyes were sparkling, or how a wider smile was tugging subtly on the corners of her mouth.

Claire, meanwhile, was pouting, due to loss of his attention to Janette. Being as obsessed with attention as she was, she put in her two cents worth. "I'm Claire, and this," she pointed to Nikki to introduce her, but was interupted by that very person.

"He knows who I am, hun." her voice was cheerful and controlled, with only a slight change in tone due to holding in her laughter.

Claire looked shocked, as did Janette. It was almost as though they were saying their thoughts out loud, for their faces reflected their thoughts almost exactly. It was a 'She knows this hunk but she's never told us about him?' kind of look.

And Nikki tried very, very hard not to laugh out loud.

Donovan looked over at Claire and smiled at her. He WOULD play with these two. They looked like they could handle it. Plus it just might get Nikki off his case with the whole "kissing" thing.
He walked over to Claire and looked down at her.
So Claire, you look like a girl who enjoys adventure. Would you like to go on a journey with me? he was working up to one of his cheesiest pick up lines. Oh well, it usually works so he used it to start off, he could pick up his big guns later on if he needed.

Nikki bit back a groan. Of the two, he'd picked Claire to hit on. She tried very hard not to grin. She wasn't sure who she felt more sorry for.

Claire smiled. "Depends on what kind of journey you're talking about." she said, giving him her most sultry, smoldering look.

Janette's face fell. She knew she had no chance against Claire. So she just watched what was going to happen sadly.

Nikki's shoulders started to shake. She knew if he kept this on for very long, she was going to start laughing. Why? She didn't know, but for some reason, she found the whole ordeal very funny. She shifted her weight, adjusting her broken arm it the sling. It was itching again. That, at least, helped her keep a bit more control.

Donovan studied the girls face. She was trying too hard. That's no fun. But at the same time he didn't want to break the other girls heart. Hm...he never worried about breaking girls hearts before...was it because they were Nikki's friends? He doubted it. Maybe he just didn't care anymore. Or...maybe he did now?

Whatever.
He didn't have time to think about that.
He smiled at her
A journey of love. he said and bent his head down pressing his lips against hers, holding them there waiting for her to break the embrace. A smile spread across his lips and he help in a chuckle. He couldn't WAIT to see Nikki's face.

Claire and Janette both gasped. Nikki tried desperately not to laugh. She moved quickly. Claire pulled away with a look of horror on her face, and pulled her hand back to slap him. Nikki touched his arm, and he phased through Claire's hand, untouched, curteousy of Nikki's hand on his arm. Claire glared at Nikki. That was the last straw. Nikki burst out laughing.

She was hooting with laughter, doubled over. After several minutes, Claire was looking confused, and Janette was laughing too. She looked up at Claire, tears of laughing to hard in her eyes, "You shoulda seen your face!" she laughed some more, and managed to gasp out, "I should have warned you about him," before continuing to laugh.

It was then that it clicked for Claire. She was the butt of the joke. "I'm sure I'll see how funny it is later. For now, I'm gonna go have something to.. eat." and the supermodel blonde spun on her heel, walking away.

Janette looked from the still hysterically laughing Nikki, to Donovan, and to Claire, unsure of whether to stay with the obviously unsafe man, or go with her perturbed friend.

Donovan grinned at Claire as she walked out of the room and waved behind her. He looked over at Janette and sighed.
Alas, my journey has ended on such a sour note. Would you care for a try? he said and moved towards her hoping to scare her off. He wanted some alone time with Nikki. He hoped that with some alone time they could become better friends, with her he didn't want to try anything funny. He actually wanted to get to know her better.

Janette blushed again, backing away from him. "I think I should see if Claire's alright." with that, she nearly flew away from them. Meanwhile, Nikki was still laughing.

"Congrats, you've managed to scare away the two most boy-crazy girls on this planet. That, my friend, is art." she gasped for breath, and wiped at her face. "My side hurts. I haven't laughed that hard in ages." her face dry, the grin finally surfacing onto her face.

She rested her good arm across her sore stomach, and frowned. "Wow, that aches." she giggled, and was greeted with a slight pain, "Ow." but she was still smiling.

Donovan smiled and looked over at Nikki he gave a very theatric bow.
What can I say? I'm an artist! with that he walked over to her and grabbed her shoulders softly. He moved her backwards to sit on the couch and sat down next to her.
Are you okay? he asked and moved a piece of hair from her face to look at her.

He sat her down using his hands, and she allowed him, pulling herself into a comfortable position. But when he touched her hair, she batted at his hand gently, stopping batting to tuck the hair into place behind her ear. She did the whole thing with a teasing air, so as to cover her dislike of being touched.

"Yeah, I'm fine, Tigger." she grinned at him, cocking her head. She almost asked how he shifted so easily from one personality, but she knew the answer, because she did the same thing. "And before you ask, that is what I have dubbed you. You cannot change it." she said, with the serious air of a seven-year-old, nodding her head for emphasis.

"Hey, the other night, I woke up and you were gone.. Other than the whole friendship thing, I can't remember what we talked about.." she kind of phrased it as a question, but didn't really. She had been really tired that night, so it didn't surprise her that she'd fallen asleep.

Donovan brought his hand back and scooted back from her so as to give her room. He did it all in a very nonchalant manner and leaned back on his elbows looking at her.
He didn't want to bring up his past again, or his nightmare. Those were things that if she didn't remember, he didn't mind.
We didn't really talk that much. he said and dismissed the topic with a wave of his hand.
He thought for a moment and then had an idea.
How about we play a game. It's a variation of 20 questions. We take turns asking questions. We each get ten and the other has to answer with complete honesty. You start. he said and sat up intently, waiting to hear her question.
