She opened her eyes when he groaned, a small bit startled that he was still here. She pulled her knees up onto the bed, to get more comfortable, pondering for a moment, how long of a conversation this was going to be. She watched him warily, "As good a time as any, I suppose.." she spoke dully, her words falling slightly flat in the near silence of the room. She eased herself down onto her good side, resting her now casted arm in the hollow of her waist, still watching him from her new position.

Part of her wanted to punch him for kissing her, and the other part wanted to thank him for his quick action. Neither was winning, because they were of equal strength. So she was just kind of dull and tired looking. The battle hidden deep within her.

Donovan dropped his hands but left his head where it was. He really didn't know how to broach the subject. His stomach was in nots and his heart felt like it was being beaten to a pulp. He didn't know what to do but he also knew she was in pain and he felt terrible about it.
I really don't know what to say. I'm sorry that you're hurt and I'm sorry that it was my fault...I just wanted to cheer you up...Gosh...I feel like a complete idiot!
When she said idiot he slammed his hands, now balled into fists, on the arms of the chair and closed his eyes.

Nikki was silent for a moment, as she mulled over what to say. Her eyes softened for a moment, probably because he had his eyes closed, and she took a deep breath. "Well," she began, voice tired, "First off, yeah it probably wasn't the best idea to kiss a girl you just met," she smiled sardonically, "You might not want to do that again..Second off, I'm a clutz. I run into everything," she closed her eyes, remembering, "This isn't the first time I've broken something. And thirdly, you're more of an idiot for beating yourself up about it than actually doing it. I probably would have lain where I fell for a long time with nobody to help me if you hadn't been there." She looked directly at him, hoping he'd open his eyes, and see the sincerity there, "You saved me more pain than you caused me." And then she closed her eyes, speach finished.

Her mind wandered to Arima, and she wondered momentarily to where he had dispeared to. She desperately wrenched her mind away from the memories, and forced her eyes open to look at Donovan again.

Donovan opened his eyes and smiled at her with an exasperated sigh.
He was glad that she wasn't TOO angry with him anymore. At least...he thought she wasn't. He was also happy that she was being sincere but at the same time there was still a wrenching feeling in his gut.
So...I am going to take it upon myself to keep you company while you are casted. I also take it upon myself to make sure you no longer hurt yourself! No need to thank me for my chivalry. The kiss was enough payment. he said appearing completely serious.

Nikki raised a thin brow slightly when he spoke. "Don't push your luck." she stated simply, the only emotion in her voice sardonic. She looked him up and down in a detached way, "And don't get too cocky. Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I can't take you." she added mentally that she could probably do it with a broken arm and all, but she didn't say that.

She let out a slow sigh. She was getting darker with all the stuff that was happening to her. And it was getting harder to pretend. She flopped over onto her back. "By the way, you're really transparent. I wish you'd stop feeling bad." she remarked, small smile on her face, even though she didn't turn to look at him.

Donovan layed his head back down.
Good luck getting me to feel better. He didn't mention anything about him being pretty much a manufactured super-soldier. He doubted most men at the school let alone this girl with a broken arm. He didn't say that though, he didn't really want anyone to know that...he liked to keep it secret. Especially if The Organization happened upon him.
So, when are they letting you out of this place? I have a surprise for you.

She looked at him again. "They said I could leave whenever I wanted." she stated slowly, pulling herself into a sitting position, then sliding herself off of the bed onto her feet. She swayed slightly, putting her good hand to her head as she got a blood rush headache.

She smirked slightly, looking up at him, aware that he was probably going to freak out, and decided to speak before he did. "Blood rush." she said simply, words still sardonic. She walked over to a cupboard, and opened it up, pulling out a black sling with her name on it in sparkly blue letters. Further proof that it wasn't the first time she'd broken an arm. She slowly removed the bulky hoodie from her shoulders, and dropped it on the bed, slipping the sling around her neck, then slipping her arm in the sling.

Then, without thinking, she grabbed the hoodie, and slipped the hood over her head to keep it with her, forgetting how funny it made her look. And then she blushed when she remembered, but she didn't take the hood off. "Will this..surprise.. require me to encounter more people than you?" she questioned warily, resting her good arm cross her midriff, unconciously commiting a sign of self-conciousness.

Donovan watched as she gather her things, it was obviously not the first time she'd broken her arm judging by the sling.
He smiled as she pulled the sweater on her head she looked kinda cute like that.
He laughed slightly as she pulled her arms across her chest. She was so self concious. But then most girls are.
He walked forward and grabbed her hand and walking forward.
Don't worry it'll be dark, I'm sure there wont be many people and don't worry I won't try and kiss you.

She allowed herself to be pulled forward, resisting the urge to pull her hand away from him. She wasn't a particularily touchey-feely kind of girl. But she didn't. "Hmm.. I don't know which is worse, being with a great deal of people, or being with you in the dark." her words, while still sardonic, held a slight teasing air to them, "Besides. If you try to kiss me, I'll just beat you over the head with my cast."

She didn't really know where she stood with this guy. On the one hand, she wanted to beat him into a pulp, but on the other, she wasn't used to people being that nice. It was an interesting colliding of emotions within her. Her eyes went dull for a moment, not that that wasn't a regular occurance for her.

Donovan looked behind him at Nikki and stopped suddenly. He flicked her on the forehead and stopped smiling, looking very stern.
Stop looking like such a statue. People have EMOTIONS you know? Don't make me kiss you again. he said in an almost scolding manner. It bugged him when people were like this. He had grown up in a facility where you weren't suppose to have emotions that why he was almost always happy he needed that release he was so used to being nothing, feeling nothing but pain, being disposable. He hated that glazed over look in people's eyes. So many other children had had that look...especially right before the end. Donovan was one of the few that actually survived the experiments. The look that her eyes held now almost made him queasy. He shoved his hands in his pockets and didn't look back at her. He didn't want her to see the hard look on his face.
Come on, we need to hurry or we'll be late his voice was void of it's former bouncy cheerfulness. Now it was cold. Almost like stone.
