He smiled, and she wasn't sure she liked that smile. Her guard rose again. The smile remained the same, as did her eyes, but she drew her knees up closer to her chest, and hugged them, unknowingly commiting a sign of body language that said she was closing up. One wouldn't think it though, how she was smiling, eyes appearing open. "Hmm.. Camino Real sounds familiar..I think I might have seen that one.." she didn't bother to mention Street Car Named Desire, since she had already told him she'd seen that one.

She returned her eyes to the screen, to hide that tears were stinging the corners. She couldn't really remember many movies she'd seen before she turned 17. Her mind made it a habit to block it out, like an ostritch with it's head in the sand. It wasn't working so well.

((Okay, what he is going to do next is going to not make her happy, but please don't be too mad...))

Donovan watched as she became more closed to him again, tears welled in her eyes and he knew he needed to do something to releave the tension...he just didn't think it through all the way....
He looked over at her.
Pretty girls shouldn't cry. and leaned forward pulling her towards him gently and placing his lips against hers.

She glanced at him, and was startled when he pulled her towards him. And then he kissed her. Her heart stopped (it felt like) for a moment, and she even let him linger for a moment, before her wits returned to her. She'd just met this guy. She pushed him away from her, and stood with the same momentum.

Her eyes were dark with anger, and her fists were clenched at her sides. She was speachless as she glared, then, a few false starts, "You..I...wha.." followed by an exasperated sigh when she couldn't say what she wanted to. She spun on her heel, preparing to go back to her room, but only succeeded in tripping, and landing against a table very hard on her arm. When she hit, there was a sharp crack, and tears sprang into her eyes, overflowing quickly.

She rolled off of her arm quickly, and couldn't keep a sob from escaping her mouth. But then she shut her mouth tight, whole body shaking with the effort. She couldn't move to see what she'd done to herself, because she hurt, and her eyes were still dark with anger towards him. So she closed her eyes to try and keep from crying, trying to get control of herself, and figure out why she hadn't phased through it.

Donovan nearly smirked as she pushed him back and couldn't put together a coherent sentance. But then she turned and fell. He heard the crack and jumped to his feet. He felt terrible and a string of certain unpolite words ran through his mind. He hurried over to where she was and bent down to look at her arm, it was swelling quickly and turning a rather interesting color of purple. He assumed she'd broken it.
Another curse word.
This was his fault.
He WASN'T going to lead her on. He normally didn't do that kind of thing. What was WRONG with him?!
Oh...Nikki...I'm so sorry... he said, he knew what he had to do. He had to get her help so he leaned down and scooped her up into his arms.
Hold on, I'll get you to the nurse. I know you're mad at me and I'm sorry, just don't struggle you'll make it worse... he said and looked down at her arm silently cursing himself.

She tried not to fight him, but she was so angry with him. And then she phased through his arms, accidentally mind you, and fell to the floor, cushioning her fall this time by paritially phasing into, and then back out of the floor. Sure it worked now, of all times.

"That was.. My fault.." it was obvious that she was trying not to sob, but when she spoke, her words were carefully measured, only punctuated with heavy breaths. She was, of course, referring to the fact that she'd just phased through his arms. "Try again...I'll try to control it this time.." she opened her eyes, revealing both distrust, and the knowledge that she knew she couldn't stand right now. And then she closed them. It was obvious that she was in pain, but also showed just how strong she was. Emotionally, Physically, and in will.

Donovan was surprised when she slipped from his arms...no not slipped...fell through.
He nodded his head and bent down picking her up again. She stayed this time...for a while at least, he couldn't guarentee what would happen later so he knew he had to hurry. With her firmly in his grasp he hurried from the room, not running though, he didn't want to bounce her bad arm.
Is there anyway you'll forgive me? He asked as he moved down the hallway, he transitioned into a graceful and smooth run that would barely bounce her and would hopefully not hurt her.

She opened her eyes slowly, and tiredly, with a great deal of effort, and looked at him. Distrust, and pain still clouded them, but there was a glint of amusement in them as well. "Is this really a good..." she took a breath as her arm suddenly throbbed, "time to talk about this?" and then she closed her eyes again, covering the chrystal blue pain, and distrust from him.

She was tense, not so much because he was holding her, as that she was desperately trying to keep in control of her phasing. With her focus, her tears were stopping, and had slowed to a steady trickle, further proof of her strength.

Donovan nodded his head, understanding that this was neither the time nor the place. He knew she was in pain and quickened his pace hurrying around the corner and down the stairs. He hoped that he hadn't caused her too much pain with his quickened pace, but the whole time he couldn't help thinking.
Is her arm...her pain...my fault? but deep down, he knew it must be...

TIME JUMP!!!

The minute they entered the hospital wing, a flurry of activity took place. They got Nikki a bed, and set her up. She watched then detachedly. They knew her arm was broken. A quick x-ray proved that fact. Then was the hard part. They set her arm. The only proof of how much it hurt was a little whimper that escaped her lips, followed by a large tear tracking down her face.

Then they wrapped her arm with a cast, gave her some mild pain medicine, and went back to their filing, leaving her to sit on the edge of her bed. Now that they were done, she closed her eyes again, and promptly phased through the bed. She sighed, and phased out of it again, eyes still closed.

Donovan stood back watching them as they worked on Nikki, his heart twisted as she whimpered. He felt terrible. He stood and watched as she phased out and back into her bed...he didn't know how long he had been standing before he walked over to Nikki stood in front of her for a moment and then sat down in the chair in front of her and sighed. He put his head in his hands and then layed it back against the back rest of the chair with a groan.
would NOW be a good time to talk?
