"Man, it's like chi or some Naruto shit now. Also I can heal now. Fuckin stabbed myself in your back yard to test that one out."

He helped Rory to her feet and grinned confidently.

"Oh yeah, can't fly but I can fucking dunk on someone's ass hardcore now," he stepped back and pushed off the ground, launching himself high into the air. Then he landed, pretty hard in the sand. Which actually gave him an idea he wanted to try.

"Stand further back, I wanna try something else. Jude wouldn't let me in the back yard."

"Uuugh. Not even faaaair." Rory huffed as he helped her up.

And there was genuine jealousy in Kaiju and Charlotte's abilities to not only adapt to this fucking place but to be as versatile in their powers as they were.

Still looking a little miffed, Rory did as instructed and stepped further away from him until she was something like four yards off.

"Hey man, you got some pretty cool shit going too. Look at you with this flying inertia bullshit."

He grinned, then jumped high into the air. It felt longer than it was, and during the seconds he was coming down he debated on a superhero landing. Yeah, sure why not? When he landed he landed hard. He released a shockwave as he was absorbing the energy of the landing, which created an even bigger shodkwave. There was sand and debris flying everywhere.

"Yep, thank god I didn't do this in the back yard."

Rory threw an arm over her eyes as Kaiju came down on the ground hard. Sand and debris struck her arm and her body, but it didn't hurt. She spit and ran her hands through her hair to help clean it.

"Shit, man. That's fucking crazy... Heh. Makes me miss home."

Too much? Yeah that was probably too much. That would have been a great thing to have back home... sometimes. They weren't really big on property damage, but if push came to shove, they had it at least. Or they would have.

"Yeah... We'd really fuck shit up with the power sets we have now. I'm thinking of all the crazy ass team attacks we could pull off. Just... god I miss home..."

Rory was quiet, though she was about to make a teasing comment on how her Ijian stuff would only get stronger and stronger. But no, Rory didn't really feel it.

She moved back to Travis, somewhat awkwardly. Kaiju wasn't the type to usually admit any sadness. Not as far as she'd seen. Most of his comments were flippant, but she always knew they were true. When something was fucking him up, he just tried not to think about it.

Rory pat his shoulder and forced a grin to light her face. "Think of this like an extended vacation."

"I told myself that but... let's be real," it was one of those rare moments where he'd drop his front and say what was on his mind. "The longer we stay here, the harder it's gonna be to go back. And it really bugs me that I'm just so... comfortable here."

There was a hint of a pained expression on his face. Then it melted away, that was replaced with a small laser at Rory's feet. "Sorry, I needed to get that off my chest. And ruin it with a fucking laser."

Rory sighed harder. She looked at her feet when Travis' beam shot down near her. She didn't even jump.

"Um... I'm.... not." She said finally, quietly. Almost ashamed. "I'm not comfortable here. I hate it. I hate it and I can't go back. I miss home. I was comfortable there. With my friends and my loved ones. I feel constantly unbalanced here — and I think I'm the only one."

Rory nodded shakily. "I do, I really do know. Shit is hard and, we all lost the thing that brought us together. We're still here, though. We have each other. I don't ever want to lose that. I don't think you guys do, either, but the thought still scares me that we might... drift."
