Appearance Description:
Hafoc usually takes the form of a hawk. However, in his human form, Hafoc looks like a man with a slightly muscular build, with broad shoulders. He has golden eyes, a narrow nose, dark brown hair, and pale skin. He is also 6ft tall, having wanted to copy Cyril's height.
Personality Description:
Hafoc is observant, witty, swift, and agile-- he has all the traits of a bird of prey that is an excellent hunter. He is usually easy to tick off, but he loves Cyril too much and never really becomes sour around him, unless there is someone else treating Cyril badly. While a hawk is supposed to be a vicious and graceful wild animal, Hafoc has recently ended up acting like a spoiled and needy pet around Cyril, and wants constant attention, although he tries to make the half elf notice him by being helpful, and not by being whiny.
Species Abilities:
1. As a spirit, Hafoc doesn't die. He will only have to go back to the spirit world in order to heal, if ever he takes some damage. Since he takes a physical form in the mortal world, he is prone to being injured and will be affected the same way a normal human body or a normal hawk body is affected by these damages. He doesn't necessarily need to go back to the spirit world right away if he is physically damaged, but once he does go back, Cyril will not be able to summon him for an entire day while he is in the process of healing. Physical injuries affect him the same way they may affect a normal human or a normal hawk, depending on what his form is. If he was injured in his hawk form and transformed into his human form, the gravity of his injuries also carry over. The same applies the other way around. If he is in his spirit state, he can only be injured by attacks that work on spirits, or if he goes away from Cyril (details in #4). If damaged in this state, he would have to immediately return to the spirit world. This would also take one day in the mortal world to heal.
2. Hafoc is a familiar spirit that takes the form of a hawk. In this form, he is able to do anything a hawk can do, such as flight. He also has great vision, a good sense of balance, and sharp claws he can use to attack, defend, or hunt.
3. He can change forms anytime he pleases, but can stay in his human form for only four hours straight at most.
4. Hafoc can change into his spiritual state anytime he wishes, which keeps anyone who doesn't have abilities to see spirits from seeing him. He can still be a hawk or a human in this state, but he becomes unable to touch anything physically. In this form, he must keep close to Cyril in order to have some sort of grounding in the mortal world, and the maximum distance they may have is 30ft. If he goes farther away from Cyril than that, he will automatically take some damage and will have to go back to the spirit world immediately.
Powers:
Aside from Hafoc's abilities as a spirit, Hafoc can also communicate with anything in the animal kingdom. This can be done mentally, but only while the parties are face to face. Because of this power, Hafoc has been praised by ancient human tribes in the past.
He can stay with Cyril for two days straight before he needs to go back to rest in the spirit world. He can stay in the mortal world with Cyril for two days straight no matter what his form is, but Cyril will not be able to summon him again for the same amount of time he had previously spent in the mortal world. So if Hafoc stays for an hour and leaves, Cyril will be able to summon him again after another hour. He can also go back and forth the mortal and the spirit world without being summoned, though the time limitations still apply.
