Mathos cocked an eyebrow at Pietro's comment about Levina when the pleasantries were finished.

"Of course, please, take a seat, Mr. Popov. I would like to hear about this situation since what my employees do is a clear reflection on myself and my business," Mathos stated politely as he gestured to a fancy leather chair but not before he shot his assistant a quick "what the fuck did you do" look.

"Вы очень добры," he said, offering a more formal thank you than he might in a less business-like setting as he took the offered seat.

"Let me be clear, first and foremost. This is not about your employee specifically. While we did get off on the wrong foot at first, I cannot blame her for not knowing my preferences. And she has been nothing but accommodating since."

"My main concern falls with an acquaintance of hers and, perhaps, yours. The company that one keeps tells a great deal about oneself, as I am sure you are aware."

Dabbing at his neck, Pietro took a moment to think and gave a hand gesture to the assistant at his side, who produced a small glass and filled it with blood from a port built into their wrist. Pietro took a grateful sip before continuing.

"Tell me what you know, and what your relationship is, to a gentleman - though I use the term very loosely - named Altizica."

There look Mathos gace her made her heart sink. It stayed there. There last thing she ever wanted was Mathos upset and mad at her. Her normally electric blue eyes seemed to fade slightly. She wanted nothing more than for him to see her as more than a personal assistant and this wasn't how to go about that.
Levina was almost grateful for the kind words that Pietro said as he explained their initial meeting and how it had almost gone immediately south before being salvaged a bit. That feeling took a turn as Alt's name was brought up. Her own face turned into a scowl for a moment before returning to its usual serious business look.
If he ruined any of this for her or Mathos, she swore to herself she would find a way to kill him.

Mathos shook his head at that, clearly confused by Pietro's question. Granted, his old self, Tomas del Bosque, knew of the person he spoke off. However, this new incarnation had never even met the man.

"I am very sorry. I am quite sure that I don't know the person in question," Mathos replied quite truthfully, though he did quietly wonder exactly what Levina was doing frequenting such company.

"Levina?" Mathos asked as he looked at his assistant. "Who is this, Altizica? And why would he say or imply that he knows me?" he demanded.

Levina merely listened. It wasn't her place to interject or speak up until she was adressed. So when she was finally adressed, she took a step forward and listened carefully.
"Sir, I met Altizica at a bar. You know I frequent many of them after work before heading home. While there, he approached me and began conversation. He seemed simple minded enough and didn't shy away at my..." her eyes cut to the side looking for the word, "...personality."
Levina spoke very confidently. There was no use trying to hide anything. It would only make things worse.
"I believe Mr. Popov may be concerned when Altizica and him had an exchange in the Grey Raven and Altizica stated he wanted to meet you as well for personal reasons."
Electric blue eyes held strong. She had negotiated with several businesses before and knew to keep her emotions in check. But this was different, harder, as Mathos stared her down.
"Would I be correct in that assimption Mr. Popov?"

"It would, Ms. Cromwell." Pietro confirmed, giving her a nod before returning his gaze to Mathos. "In the middle of our business talk, Mr. Altizica thought it prudent to insert himself and mention that he very much wished to meet you for personal reasons. I am a shrewd businessman, Mr. Sandoval. I like to know the kind of person I am potentially working with. I certainly don't want my money going to fund a Citizen Against Evil supporter, as you can imagine."

Finishing off the blood in his glass, Pietro handed the empty back to his assistant, who out it back in the passed interior pocket of their jacket where it would be safe.

"Such an interjection belies a personal stake... obsession or vengeance being the ones I am most common with. But he refused to elaborate. When I asked him not to insert himself into my conversation it he had nothing to add, he insulted me to a degree few others have in my long life."

Mathos listened attentively and without interruption, scowling once at the mention of the CAE, his dark gaze unyielding as Pietro explained exactly what went on and why he was perturbed by Altizica behaviour.

When Pietro was done, Mathos, who now was clearly annoyed and low-key angry that some lowlife that he'd never met had almost cost him, not only a potential customer but had put his name and business in question.

Thanking Pietro for his candor, Mathos refocused his attention on his assistant. "Can you tell me why this ... Altizica person would want to meet me personally, Levina?" he asked her directly, his tone cool.

"Did you perhaps mention anything about me or about Immortal Brews to this "simple minded" fellow that you shouldn't have?" he added, his words now tinged with suspicion as he compared both stories in his mind.

Levina slowly exhaled, keeping herself calm. It would do no good to get worked up. Especially in front of guests.
"Upon our simple conversation of basic introductions, he learned where I worked and that you were the owner. I may have also implied that I looked up to you for your dedication, attention to detail, and willingness to do what it took to be successful."
Her voice wavered slightly as she spoke, clearly intimidated by Mathos. He could get anything out of her that he wanted. She was just mindful of other parties currently in the room. She didn't want to make things worse by having a wrong choice of words. She bit her bottom lip out of nervousness before blinking to recover her nerves.

"I see," Mathos remarked evenly and sat back in his chair after Levina confessed to having bragged about him to Altizica.

Looking at Pietro for a moment, his face expressionless except for his eyes, Mathos considered his next question.

"And just what were Altizica's responses to your open admiration of my dedication and business acumen?" Mathos asked keenly, beginning to suspect that maybe Altizica's interest was not on him specifically, but on the blue-haired beauty in the room.

It was a loaded question. She knew it, but couldn't get out of it. Levina thought for a moment, not about what the answer was, but how to answer it. Alt had been rather frank in talking with her and that would not do in this situation.
"He wondered if I had more interest in you than strictly professional. I refused to answer him based on the grounds that the relationship you and I currently have was laid out as boss and employee, and any relationship I may have with anyone was none of his business."
Careful to emphasis anyone, Levina was hoping to carefully navigate the minefield she was in. Everything she said was the complete truth. She just knew how she said the truth mattered.
