"That makes sense," she told him when he brought up his religion. "I always thought everything and nothing were correct. Like, maybe ever religion was actually connected, and people were just too prideful to admit it. Maybe you're right, though. Maybe it's all about what we believe. Belief is strong, after all." If that was a kids understanding of the world, Shay never wanted to grow up. Belief, hope, those things were strong, right? They could break darkness, protect people.
Shay thankfully took his hand when it was offered to her. She was beginning to realize what a physically affectionate person she was. Ironic. She had avoided physical contact as much as possible, but the closer she got to people, the more she yearned for it. Perhaps she was make up for lost time.
"Belief is the basis of magic, I think," she continued fondly. "Belief and emotion and all those irrational things. We all crave to add all these logical dots to everything; magic included, but -- it's belief. It's the lack of logic." She looked around, a slight smile in place, "I'm glad I was born in Manta Carlos, and I'm glad I get to know all this mythical stuff. Even if it's hard sometimes."
That's fine! xD Deep conversations going on.

"Still not totally used to it myself," He confessed, helping her over a bump in the road. He couldn't see what it was, but something had obviously fallen over. A tree, or a street light, or something else that was laying flat on the ground, hidden by the water and requiring a leg up. He pushed himself over it, reaching over to help her over. Already there were spirits heading towards them, but he moved carefully, intercepting the majority before they even reached her.
"Stay close, alright?"
