Alyx smiled when he got the green light to depart. Sliding the console into him, he hooked up his interlink from his wrist into it to give him control. After a few more moments a rather anticlimactic rumble happened as they slowly pulled out into space and in the designated lane put from the station.
"Bit boring for a moment. Just gotta get clear and load up a training sub routine."
Alyx's voice was smooth, calm, and collected. His free hand flew over the console getting them away from the station and warming the ship up the rest of the way. Spreading his holographic site to cover the entire forward screen, a mock up of a course played out in what appeared to be in front of them.
"Hang on. And hollar if it's too much."
Alyx focused in on the holographic track and suddenly punched the throttle forward. The ship reacted beautifully just as he knew. Kek always took good care of her. The power in which it jumped forward was more than enough to throw him back in his seat as he began quickly and deftly navigating the course.

Anne was only getting more and more infatuated with him by the second. Even with the disappointment of the slow start, the confidence and ease with which he handled the ship was more than impressive enough to keep her attention.
"I'm sure I'll be able to handle it fine." She said, looking confident for a split second before he hit the throttle, throwing her back into her seat from the sudden acceleration. She looked quickly between him and the front of the ship, absolutely terrified for a few moments before she recognized the skill he maneuvered the course with and started to relax.
"This is amazing!" She called to him from her seat, still barely able to pull herself up from it.

Alyx smiled when he heard Anne exclaim. He hadn't found a single person yet that didn't love their first time. Especially when he was flying. Finishing a lap on the course he cut the hologram off by blinking. He sent the ship into a quick flat spin for a few rotations before evening it out where you could see the station through the front view port.
"So? What'd ya think?"
Disconnecting his interlink and undoing his harness, Alyx hopped out of his seat and moved over to Anne with a smile.

Anne got out of her seat shakily, needing a few moments to find her feet again- and pretending she needed a few more after that just to lean on Alyx a little longer.
"That was awesome. That's what you do for your job?" She asked in amazement, looking up at him with a wide eyed grin. Her heart was still pounding from the exhilaration of the flight, almost enough for him to feel through her chest while she leaned against him.
"I would definitely do that again."

Alyx could tell she lingered on the lean as he felt her not wander as much. He wasn't going to argue as he wrapped his arms around her to help steady herself.
"There's a bit more than just that. It is a three person job. I wouldn't be here without Brissa and Kek."
When she mentioned she would do that again Alyx smiled and let out a chuckle before looking around the cabin. He wasn't sure if Brissa was on board or not but he figured she wouldn't mind.
"Wanna try yourself?"

"I, oh, I don't know" She shifted on her feet a bit. "I think maybe after I see you do it a few more times. It's a pretty big leap from never leaving earth before." She admitted, standing on her own again but not leaving his arms.
"Even if it's a three person job, what you just did was amazing." She added, smile growing again as she leaned on him more obviously this time.

Alyx slowly walked the both of them back over to where the pilot seat, his seat, was. Using her leaning on him to hi advantage made it a bit easier, but he wasn't trying to be discrete about it in the slightest. If Anne didn't notice, it would just be that much better.
"It's really not that hard to do the basics, I can restrict a lot so you won't be overwhelmed."
His smile played around again as he turned them in a small half circle so he was facing the chair, and she had her back to it. Backing her up just a little bit more, her knees would bump into the chair, and he would lower her down into it easily.
"I made you a promise I wouldn't let anything happen remember? That includes if you are flying."

She didn't stop him from moving her, catching on by the time he was about ready to turn her around. She sat back down into the pilot's seat, taking a deep breath.
"Okay, I'll trust you on this." She said, almost sounding like she was talking to herself more than to him. She gave him another smile and a thumbs up, settling into the chair as her heart rate picked up again.
"Nothing too complicated, okay? I'm fine with cars, but.. this is a little different" She said with a nervous laugh, looking around at the controls of the ship.

"I'll be hooked in the entire time. Don't worry."
Alyx kneeled down next to the seat and pulled the console towards his date. His interlink came out of his wrist again and hooked into the console as before. This time, the console changed drastically. Most of the options disappeared, and a joystick rose from the floor in easy reach for her.
"This is usually what I fly with when Brissa is assisting."
He went on to explain how the stick looked the ship around before pointing to the console. A simple looking lever controlled the throttle. Even pushed all the way forward would only bring the ship to a fraction of the speed it was capable of.
"It's all on you. Remember, anything happens, I can take over immediately, so don't be scared. See if you can move through these rings."
Alyx looked back to the view screen and his holographic capable eye projected a few large rings on it for Anne to try to navigate through.

She nodded back to him and focused on the view screen, taking another deep breath before bringing the ship up and navigating just under her top allowed speed through the rings. She seemed to relax once the ship got moving again, much as she had when he was flying earlier.
"Okay, this isn't so bad.." She said, some excitement creeping into her voice as the reality of actually flying a spaceship started to sink in. She brought the ship to a stop and looked over her shoulder back at him.
"Okay, think I can try something a little more complicated?" She asked, turning back towards the view screen and settling in again.
