kofi_comm_2_by_sayutb_de167t6-pre.pngAlyx had been fine tuning a control lever on the ship when he got Anne's message. She was free and wanting to take him up on the offer to show off his ship. Of course he accepted and quickly went to change and put away everything he was working with.

Now in a pair of jeans, white shirt, and his brown jacket overtop it all, Alyx made his way to the transport pads where he would meet Anne. He had told her if she had any issues let him know and he'd come down to help out, but after the time he took to change, she might have been there already.

Glancing around, he didn't immediately see her, so he leaned against a wall in direct view of all the pads and waited.

Anne managed to only get lost a little- practically a miracle considering her sense of direction. She was only a few minutes late, speedwalking in and giving Alyx a wave as soon as she saw him. She was wrapped up in a down jacket, boots, and leggings, smiling as she walked over.

"Hey! I made it!" It was clear how giddy she was at the whole situation despite her attempts to hide it. It was her first time in space and she was still trying to figure out how to process the experience.

"So, you're the expert. What would you recommend?" She asked, fidgeting a bit.

Alyx's charming smile popped up as soon as he saw Anne start walking his way. It seems she had made it up with at least only minimal issues, if any at all. She had taken his advice and bundled up. He understood how the cold of space seemed to creep in, even with how well heated the station was.

Past the bustle of different species coming and going, he could hear how excited she was, and he couldn't blame her. If she had never been off planet, this would be an exciting time. Alyx could help but chuckle a little.
"Well, if you got a strong stomach, we can get some food first before we take the ship out. If not, I'd say we hit that up first, then can explore a bit while you untangle your insides before then maybe grabbing food."
His voice was calm and relaxed. He was at home up here in space, and even more so in the pilot seat. Hoping to help ease some nerves though, he threw out a subtle wink to Anne before continuing.
"Either way, you're stuck with me for at least food and the ride."

"Don't mind being stuck one bit" She said, nerves coming through in her voice as she fidgeted with the bottom of her jacket. Still, she didn't shrink back, taking a deep breath and quickly holding his hand. Her own was cold, just as she said it would be.

"Don't wanna get separated, right?" She tried to remark casually, shoving her other hand in her pocket. She was looking around at everything on the station like a wide eyed kid as the two walked.

"I think I can probably handle eating first. Plus, I'm kinda hungry." She finally decided. As much as she wanted to see the ship right away, there were certain human needs that just couldn't be ignored and the last thing she wanted was to be hangry on a first date.

"So, is.. what's the food actually like up here?"

Alyx smiled as she took his hand under the guise of 'not getting separated.' Having zero qualms of personal space and not easily embarrassed, Alyx threw an arm around her and pulled her in close.

"So we don't get separated."

He felt like his charming smile might just be staying out as it made another appearance. So food it was. Now to just figure out what kind. There was a lot to choose from up here. Time to narrow it down.
"Well, exactly like earth and totally different. Most of the time it is best not to think about what you might be eating. Cultural differences can be weird. So let's start with either more casual restaurant or something like the...uh... what are they on earth? Food trucks?"

She wasn't expecting it, but at the same time she wasn't going to argue. She leaned into him, a dopey grin on her face while she walked with him. She moved from holding his hand putting her own arm around his midsection.

"Food trucks or.. whatever the equivalent would be sounds pretty good." She said. He hit the hipster nail right on the head with that one. She seemed to be relaxing quickly as well, his attitude helping her to get rid of the butterflies in her stomach.

"I'm pretty open, too, I don't mind eating something that might be weird" She added. More and more her attention seemed to be moving from the sights of the space station around them to her companion as the two of them walked together.

"Vendors it is. This way."

Alyx moved down a hallway and headed to where several carts and stalls were set up showcasing foods from all over the galaxy. Everything from exotic meats to foreign plants. Every color, smell, and look possible.
"So, kebabs? Chance to try a few things?"
Stopping near one of the stalls, Alyx looked over to it. The alien language on the sign told of several different types of meats. Smiling to the cook, Alyx held up two fingers and spoke in an alien language. Paying him and taking two of the fresh cooked skewers, Alyx turned back to Anne and offered one to her.
"Donovian kebab. It's a sweeter meat. Spiced a little mild for alien standards, dunno enough about food on earth."

"Well, I'm up to try anything as long as you're sure it's safe." She said with a smile, taking the skewer and smelling it curiously. After deciding that it did, in fact, seem fit for consumption by humans she took a bite.

"It's.. definitely different. I honestly can't tell if that's good or bad." She said, eyes fixed on the meat in front of her as she continued to chew it up before gulping it down.

"But it's definitely something I think I'm going to remember" She said with a wink, hoping that sounded as good out loud as it did in her head. She took another bite, eating faster than before as she moved on with her chatter.

"It's pretty good, I think." She decided.

"Good. One more thing to top it off for right now."
Continuing to walk a little bit to a cart down a few, Alyx munched on his own skewer before picking up two amoeba looking plants with straws sticking out of them.
"Weird and squishy, I know. But the most crisp and refreshing drink I've had. I have seen other humans drinking it too so don't worry there."
Handing Anne one of the drinks, he took a sip of his own, letting it sit in his mouth before swallowing with a smile.
"So what do you think so far? Space everything you thought it would be?"

"It's amazing, honestly. It's somehow just like I thought it would be but totally different at the same time." She replied. She took the drink from him, a bit weirded out by the texture, but tried it anyways. She returned his smile after.

"You're right. You know, weird and squishy is good a lot of the time." She said with a small laugh, taking another drink and leaning in slightly closer to him. She took another look all around the vendors' area, processing it all before she spoke again.

"It's.. really crazy to think I'm actually in space."
